Two of Villar's pension board members "Fall on the Sword" and resign
"Somewhere at sometime, the calls came and swords were mounted".
The details from the Los Angeles Times David Zahniser.
Two of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's appointees to a city pension board resigned today, one month after receiving a letter from the Securities and Exchange Commission asking them to identify income they had received from companies doing business with their agency.
Sean Harrigan and Elliott Broidy, two members of the Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions board, were asked to provide information to the SEC, which is investigating allegations of kickbacks at a New York state pension fund.
Appearing at today's board meeting, Harrigan said the inquiry had created "a frenzy of media activity" that had placed him in "the eye of the storm."
"While I have done nothing wrong, I recognize that this entire matter has become a huge distraction for all parties involved in the business of operating an $11-billion public pension system," he said in a statement.
Villaraigosa spokesman Matt Szabo said the mayor and his two board members agreed the resignation was "the best course of action."
...... and with that, came the call to "mount the swords!!", a call likely to be heard again in the near future.

Mr. Higby:
Have either of these guys ever raised money for Jack Weiss?
Just curious.

27 in a row from Wet Spot.
Didn't Phil GenderGone threaten to write a long screed analyzing ALL of his former co-candidates?
Where's the one about the pothead minister and half dozen others?
He needs to visit the pothead and do some field reporting, maybe get stoned and tell us if it illuminates the mysterious workings of the world a la the candidates Church of Pot.
It might actually make Phil coherent. As coherent as other mayoral candidate zuma dogg, anyway.
Can we see a picture of them getting stoned?
Everyone was so moved by the picture of them slobbering tacos (but zuma keeps claiming he's vegetarian?) we need to see more of these bonding photos in the quest of enlightening about the inner workings of city hall.
Or at least the inner workings of these 3 illustrious candidates for mayor.
We need an unemployed suit-and-tie wearing Republican children's party entertainer to do these very important and interesting things.

Weiss's wife is heavily involved in one of these pension fund scandals. Forgot whether it is LACERS or CalPERS. It's all a blur right now. Oh, its the MTA pension fund. Leslie is an "investment and pension fund advisor" and has already been named in at least one lawsuit related to this activity.
This could get fun.

Is that why he has been excused by daddy from doing his job in City Council for the next two weeks?
