Political briefs on May 19 ballot issues..........

Political briefs and links on the ballot May 19.

**** Freshness at City Hall ?? The Daily News advocates that with their endorsements of Carmen Trutanich and David Vahedi.

****Sorting through the numbers when it comes to Jack Weiss is the focus of this "OLD GRAY HAG ON SPRING STREET" story.

On the subject of numbers, these make you go hmmm.

****Who cares about the races for Los Angeles Community College Board of Trustees ?? You be amaze when you read this.

****Regressive opinions on taxes still in vogue within the editorial confines of the "OLD GRAY HAG ON SPRING STREET".

****Wonder what Ron Kaye thinks of these endorsements on "The Ones" in the "MOLDY GREEN SHEET" ??

****Is it time to start a "Total Recall" of Governor "Kennedy Republican" with poll numbers showing that "The Ones" are naught in the minds of California voters ??

****Will the number of voters who care to cast ballots in this vacant State Senate race in the 26th District reach 10% ??

****Wonder who postal workers would vote for in the Congressional Race to replace Hilda Solis after depositing the fliers of the various campaigns ??

****"Insider v. Outsider", is anyone better than the "Westside Political White Guy", Jack Weiss in CD 5 ??

I ask you, what is WRONG with a little graft and corruption at city hall? It's what we know. It's what gets things done!

9:43AM - a lot of people care. Nobady wants Jack Weiss in City Hall - most of the voters don't know about all his corruption and unethical conduct. If you don't like it, don't read it.

Some historians have argued that some of the well-known political machines, such as Tammany Hall during certain periods, accomplished much, including the furtherance of certain progressive policies, such as allowing women to vote.

The argument was that a certain amount of graft was accepatable, if the common good also benefitted.

The problem with the elected clowns we have in the City of Los Angeles is that they have the graft end more than covered but do much more harm than good.

If the Daily News cares so much about new blood, why didn't they cover the nine alternative candidates in the recent Mayor's race?

If it was because of funding, they should say: "We will only cover candidates who raise $XX."

So should the Times. By the way, I wonder if anyone noticed that the front page of the Times today has "news analysis" instead of news. It's a way to make up for the fact that the editorial and opinion pages are so screwed up.

Steve Sugarman is the former Riordan communications aide who was convicted of padding invoices in the Fleishman-Hillard overbilling scandal at City Hall. As a convicted felon, he is plying City Hall and his old boss Robin Kramer (Mayor Villaraigosa's Chief Deputy) on behalf of several clients.

Does anyone find it ironic that Antonio told his constituents that he really really wanted to stay for his full term as the 14th District's Councilmember but that the "terrible" corruption of the Hahn administration resulted in calls from many quarters for him to run to rid our City of pay to play.

With Villaraigosa's man in the City Attorney's race, Weiss, accepting fundraising money organized by a convicted felon in the pay to play scandal, I guess Antonio has found pay to play truly seductive.

Let's send Trutanich in to clean up Antonio's pay to play mess.

Red Spot now you're looking desperate for your candidate Trutanich who I hear all over the city is in trouble. He's failed to expose his clients for fear that people would REALLY KNOW the crooks and special interest people he's defended. Yeah, Jack has his own mess but I don't see posts allowing Jack's people to put an open thread the tons of times you've done for Carmen. How much is he paying you? Sheriff Baca is as crooked as they come. Remember his $10 million plane. Trutanich is an alcoholic, sleaze bag who defends criminals and loves the NRA. That's enough for people to not vote.

ABC News has just announced that the Shaws are suing the County with Sheriff Lee Baca as a defendant, because he and his good buddy and fellow Trutanich backers let out the alleged illegal gangbanger Pedro Espinoza instead of doing a check on him and turning him over to ICE.

Trutanich and the ignorant rightwing talk radio screamers have been blaming Weiss but it's Trutanich's two Republican buddies who were to blame.

Looks to me like it's what everyone's known in the D A's office, Cooley and Baca want Trutanich in to cover up their mess and what Trutanich has done in the City Attorney's office for his personal clients, somehow keep pinning things on the city and the Democrats.

Maybe that's why Baca got desperete when the Weiss camp had enough of sitting by for Trutanich dirty tricks and lies and negative campaigning to deflect from his own career and what he's trying to hide.

Hello there Anon 6:40PM, aka Weiss Supporter.

You need to ask Ace or Dave for a new script. Sorry to ruin your night (still up with the baby?) but tonight Fox 11 News did a truly great piece on Jack's Felon Fundraiser.

You know, the one on Sunday, May 2, 2009, where Jack attended a fundraiser in Hancock Park hosted by Michael Rosenberg - a man convicted on four felonies concerning health-care fraud.

Best part about it is that Jack openly lied when confronted by Fox 11 News reporter John Schwada, at first claiming that it was the "first I've heard about it."

Then, when Schwada told Jack that his campaign had said he knew about it 5 days ago, Weiss changed his story and said "The money's being given back."Of course, we believe that. After all Jack was supposed to return the funds from his April 27, 2009 illegal Beverly Hills fundraiser too, but somehow Jack's May 2, 2009 Campaign Finance Report failed to show ANY RETURNED FUNDS.

You can see the Fox 11 report using this link:

http://www.myfoxla.com/dpp/news/local/Questions_Arise_over_Weiss_Contributor_20090511

Or, if you can't bear to be confronted with the facts "as seen on tv" that a hell of a lot of voters saw, you can also check out my blog. I've given this story a lot of space.

Bye, Bye Jack...
