No volunteers needed in CD 14??

The natives are getting up in arms over the antics of the "COUNCILMAN LAST SEEN AS JOSE HUIZAR".

This was send via e-mail........

CITY TURNS THUMBS DOWN TO THOSE WHO WISH TO VOLUNTEER

If the City declares a Volunteer Weekend, enlists the help of over 50,000 volunteers across Southern California to aid in cleaning up properties, why then would Council District 14 scoff at stakeholders who volunteered to clear the yards of two abandoned homes?

Two homes in the 5500 block of Rangeview have been vacant for months- one caught up in foreclosure, the other abandoned, yet Jose Huizar's puppets, Zenay Lorea and Juanita Martinez told stakeholders that they could not remove the overgrowth.

At an LAPD Neighborhood Watch meeting on 04-23-2009, residents who volunteered to clean up the properties were told it was a Dept of Building and Safety issue and they were not allowed to remove the overgrowth. The grafitti has been on the sidewalk for many months, and no one can clean it up without City permission.

What gives? Does the City want volunteers or not? It’s painfully obvious that they don’t want to take the time to do the work themselves, yet neighbors must continue to look at the overgrowth and stale graffiti as it gets worse and worse.

Volunteers tend not to volunteer when City Officials scoff at them. Seems a bit trite for a City who is begging for volunteers.

Of course Huizar doesn't want anyone in the community making him look bad cause he doesn't do his job. Is Huizar or Antonio providing MASKS for tonight's budget townhall dog & pony show with all the illegals?

I've got a feeling that when you volunteer for a City clean-up project that doesn't give you permission to do anything you want.

Why weren't there any Big Sunday clean ups like previous years? Antonio wasn't top dog anymore and word is the organization got pissed at him making it about him. Not all council districts participated.

Gubernatorial Gumption

Winner: Gavin Newsom. S.F’s pretty-boy mayor did everything he needed to do to introduce himself to party regulars and insiders in a big way, instantly establishing his credibility as a statewide candidate. If Prince Gavin learns to turn down his constant charm offensive a notch or two, he could be formidable.

Loser: Antonio Villaraigosa. We’re still searching for the urgent, this-just-in bulletins on the big “crisis” budget talks that forced the L.A. Mayor to stiff the convention at the last minute. Tony V's already hampered by his inability to raise money for a gov’s race before late summer, and skipping what traditionally=2 0is the kickoff event didn’t help establish him as a force in the contest.

To the fool who keeps pushing for Newsom just to spite Antonio: in San Francisco, sidewalks haven't been fixed in decades, are dangerous to walk on. Once beautifully landscaped public parks are overgrown by weeds and crabgrass. The streets have potholes so big you NEED a Hummer. Fleecing the wealthy gays and yuppies isn't working out so well anymore now that the dotcom and economic downturn hit them too.

Newsom's social programs like the "universal healthcare" he touts to make himself look like a candidate have come at the expense of basic, vital services. He makes Antonio and our city look downright sensible.

YOU'RE THE LOSER Everyone knows LA's Mayor hasn't done shit but this city in and we're in crisis mode yet he doesn't want to layoff all his kiss ass city workers like 17 Deputy Mayors, 93 staffers, 4 press people, tons of attorneys, consultants. Newsom at least has accomplised getting things done in education, taffic, environmet and yes healthcare.

back to CD 14.
of course they say don't clean up the property.
its way more profitable for the City to clean it themself, fence it, slap a giant lien on it, and collect from the owner. or force a sale and buy it cheap for later development.

the whole property / development / conversion scheme is in a big ole hole right now though. and we warned em.

It's all about the money, not about the folks. Richview folks don't need their sidewalks cleaned or the yards spiffed up unless Jose Weezar says they need it. I'd clean up the yards and paint over the graffiti and tell Weezars henchmen to go **** themselves.

Call 311 to have the grafitti cleaned. Petition your County and City legislators to enact legislation that abandondoned properties "must be maintained" by the bank or group who holds the mortgage. The most important is that pools with water are a breeding site for disease.

Meanwhile, get a group together and mow the lawn and clean up the front. If there are " No tresspasing" you can clean up all you want until you receive,in writing,(in a citation) by a policeman that you cannot be on the property.

Good luck Huizar, we have another reason not to vote for the Mexican Mafia in CD14.

To Rangeview residents:

Forget those fools who told you it's a B & S issue.
It's a fire safety issue. On my street we had the same problem. All it took was one phone call to fire station 12 and problem solved.

They will find out who holds the 'paper' on the property and issue them clearance notification. In our case it not only got cleared but painted, spruced up , put on the market and sold.

Good luck!

Did anyone think maybe, since the "cleanup" being proposed by the other residents was on someone else's PROPERTY that it made sense for Huizar's staff to say no to that and get people to stick to the original plan? Come on people - there are ways to address problems like overgrowth, but I would hope my elected officials would not support somebody up and trespassing during a community cleanup and do it yourself instead of reporting it through regular procedures. Of course they can't condone that.
