Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Tuesday
Zuma Dogg is attempting to unravel an extremely tangled web of overlapping relationships, business arrangements and political alliances that could very well be at the heart of a deep scandal around public employee pension funds, perhaps rivaling Watergate in intensity and potential impact. Rather than go on about it here, check out the story at Zuma's blog.
The LA Weekly's Patrick Range McDonald dissects a recent gun buy-back program sponsored by the Mayor where those who turned in uzis and other illegal assault weapons received gift cards. McDonald shows how the event, despite the Mayor's spin, was a useless exercise and was handled in such a way that may have discouraged some folks from turning in guns. In the meantime yuppie sandwich shop and wi-fi hangout Panera Bread apparently classifies the Weekly as pornography and it's firewall blocks patrons from accessing the fishwrap.
Going into the final days of the campaign, City Attorney candidate Carmen Trutanich has significantly more cash on hand than his opponent Jack Weiss. Trutanich has nearly $350K on hand while Weiss is just shy of $200. In the meantime Trutanich's campaign once again criticized Weiss for refusing to return funds from a fundraiser held by City Commissioner Kelly Candaele, in violation of ethics laws.
Political blogger Meghan McCain continues to piss off both Democrats and Republicans which leads me to think she must be doing something right. Both Right Wing Blogging Dentist Flap and Left Wing Blogging Mommy Debbie Lopez once again bitch slapped the political scion over a recent celebrity PMS moment McCain had at the White House Correspndents dinner, itself an event where overly self-important scribes, pols and celebrities fete each other and spend way too much time after talking about it. Most of the details come from the bitchy celebrity gossip site Wonkette which should be noted is a competitor to the site McCain blogs at, The Daily Beast.

Fox 11 News released a report on Monday, 5-11, re: a convicted felon holding a fundraiser for Weiss, attended by Weiss, during the last couple of weeks.
http://www.myfoxla.com/dpp/news/local/Questions_Arise_over_Weiss_Contributor_20090511
One of the aspects of the report that may trouble some is that, when Weiss is interviewed by Fox 11, Weiss states that he did not know that the fundraiser is a convicted felon until the Fox 11 interviewer brought this fact to Weiss' attention.
Shortly afterwards, according to Fox 11, the Weiss campaign contacted Fox 11 and stated that the campaign had known that the fundraiser was a convicted felon PRIOR TO the Fox 11 interview of Weiss.
Weiss apparently has a problem keeping his stories straight.

what happened to zooma tard saying that he was quitting for various reasons like his not getting 20 bucks in his pocket each day i.e. extortion?
what happened to his computer not working so he couldn't blog any more?
what happened to his sleeping on the sidewalk?
seems as though none of them are stopping him. seems as though those were just ploys to get people to give him money. did all of these things suddenly change? or were they just lies?

4:14 AM?!?!?
Thank you for demonstrating my amazing ability to carry on despite my circumstances. I know it's more than a sell-out, soft-heart like you can imagine.
* Never said I was "quitting" -- said "LESS time at city hall...and TRY to do something else. What's this about "UNLESS $20/extortion ???"
*My computer IS broke for the most part. Have to jiggle screen with one hand and type with the other. Everything takes 5 times longer.
* I again, woke up on the cement outside. (NOt bragging, but you seem to doubt it.)
All the while, breaking the pension story as no paid reporter.
WHAT I HAVE DONE ON THIS PENSION STORY OVER THE PaST YEAR, AND PASt month is phenomenominal!
im ahead of THE ENTIRE PACK. I LOOK DOWN ON EACH AND EVRY REPORTER IN TOWN, THOSE LAZY LOSERS!
So thanks for pointing out to people my amazingness...
4:14 AM Why would any of this be of concern to you at 4:14 AM, let alone 4:14pm. YOU ARE A WEAK HUMAN WHO CANNOT STAND UP!
No wonder you can't believe it.

Bitter Bernie will be mumbling as usual so those of us trying to listen by Councilphone won't hear a word he says.
And of course Henry the Horse dances the waltz. Yee-Haw!
