Desert Communities Say No To Mayor Villaraigosa
Activists in San Bernardino and Riverside are up in arms over an LA Department of Water and Power plan to erect Green Path North, a 118-mile corridor of high-transmission energy towers through private and public lands. Opponents have a list of reasons why the construction of this project would severely damage the environment and harm residents in desert communities along the path.
The California Desert Coalition has erected a billboard off Interstate 10 near Cabazon that says "LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa - It's not yours to destroy!"
Someone shut put that billboard up about Los Angeles too.
Labels: dwp, green path north, mayor antonio villaraigosa

Why do you hate LA Higby?
When we don't want a Home Depot or want a hospital to do an EIR we are NIMBY's but when someone else doesn't want LA to have green power you're ok with that because they take a shot at the Mayor?
Disgraceful!

First off I opposed Home Depot.
Secondly its more important that the hospital expand and provide desperately needed emergency care than a few Granada Hills suburban motards lose a parking place or two.
Lastly, ripping up the desert is a far bigger issue than either.

Higby doesn't hate LA, our Midget Mayor does. Apparently, the desert community hates the Midget too.

This started out with people writing big signs on bed-sheets, and attaching them onto wooden poles in front of their deserted road homes.
Real "grass roots" stuff.
