Breakfast With Jan Perry

City Councilwoman Jan Perry is part of the nanny state that thinks - among other things - inner city dwellers are too stupid to make intelligent food choices so she has to do their thinking for them and ban fast food in low income sections of the city.

Yet that doesn't stop Perry from serving up a breakfast of sausage, bacon, home fries, eggs, French toast and more in City Hall Monday morning to anyone who happened by, including Zuma Dogg.  Do we really care what Perry eats for breakfast? No, not really.  It's just the hubris and hypocricy of these people that gets really old. (And yes I can only guess what some of you dum dums will comment on this post - perhaps you'll surprise us with new material.)

Stupid is as Stupid does...

Perry had the nerve to go after fast foods in her district, yet she allows the illegal vendors who sell greasy, unhealthy, dirty, bacteria hot dogs with wrapped bacon in the neighborhood. So does other moron council people and they voted to make the LEGIMATE businesses post calories on their menus and haven't done anything to go after those illegal vendors. Perry is big hypocrite in this area.

Yes, Perry is a BIG Mc-hypocrite in this area... the area around her ample, transfat-injected midsection, that is.

Perry is a new money elitist, plain and simple. She and her best friend, the talentless psycho-wannabe Carol Schatz, are all about the rich, up to and including f***ing with the public's right to choose. If people want to eat fast food, then they should be able to do so ... as long as they then cover the medical bills they incur as a result, of course.

With Perry's blessings, Schatz is leading the charge on a new version of enterprise zones downtown. This time the pair is going to blackmail citizens to accept Bladerunner-like densities in exchange for... basic public services! A new low even for these clowns.

Mailander covers this here: http://street-hassle.blogspot.com/2009/01/density-hawks-consider-using-city.html and has a link to the LA Times article on the subject.

Why Schatz hasn't been fired for the final time is beyond me. She must be favored by someone or something. Otherwise it makes no sense such a waste of space has any perceived power at all.

Where is the downtown revolutionaries when you need them?

Jan Perry is a perfect example of what is wrong with elected leaders in this city. They are a bunch of freedom-stealers. Jan Perry doesn't trust the general public to make their own informed choices about food purchases. SHE wants to make that decision for them.

Comrade Jan Perry has decided! No McDonalds for YOU!

Typical wrong-headed liberal nonsense!

If I were Mayor of this City...and with God's help I will be...I wouldn't care if McDonalds or KFC wanted to build fifteen franchises on one block on South Vermont. If they think they can make money...let them do it! They will employ people and stimulate growth... the opposite of what the Communists on the City Council want. They want people to be lifelong victims and to depend on the big bad Nanny state government for handouts and everything they want or need in life.

Congrats to all the Communists on the City Council. They are about halfway there to building their perfect no-growth, no-progress, permanent victim-state society.

It is sickening that Angelenos re-elect these clowns. I pray to God that they will come to their senses and put a Conservative in power.
This continued Socialist/Welfare State will be the death of this City and of this State if allowed to continue.

God forbid the powers that be encourage the sale of healthy options at a reasonable price, right? Heaven forbid that the people be ALLOWED to make a choice!
But Zuma...how was breakfast??

Your premonition about fat & food comments is well-deserved, Mayor Sam.

You felt it was okay to offer repetitive, snide comments about Zach writing ONE story about cupcakes; you should be prepared to take a few punches when YOU write about food, Jumbo.
