McCain On SNL: Brilliant!

John McCain joined Tina Fey as Sarah Palin for a brilliant send up of himself as well as the shopping network, QVC.  The haters can hate but this guy is funny and one good man.  We could only be so lucky to have him as President.

Guest host Ben Affleck detailed his history of supporting losing Presidential candidates, hence he was throwing his endorsement to John McCain (yes, it's a joke folks).

If you're reading this now, stay tuned, there's more McCain to come.

So far this SNL is better than the one that Sarah Palin is on.

I also notice that SNL doesn't take as many commercial breaks as they used to, or at least run more skits before they go to a commercials (maybe the breaks are longer) which I think is better.

I haven't watched much SNL in recent years (was a huge fan of the Eddie Murphy-Joe Piscopo and Dana Carvey-Mike Myers years) but like always it's hit and miss.

Great No on 8 commercial (real one) that is a parody of the Mac ads.

What is great is that SNL makes fun of both liberals and conservatives equally.

The problem with McCain's appearance is that it served to reinforce the negative impressions of his campaign -- out of money, Palin going rogue, and Palin a simple-minded, underqualified candidate for VP.

It was a bad decision on his part.

Has anyone ever asked Sarah Palin,"Do you believe, or have you ever believed, that the world was created in the past 5000 or 10,000 years and that dinosaurs roamed the planet alongside humans?"

I heard statements made that Palin shares a young earth" belief that man and dinosaurs walked together on earth not too long ago.

If true, how then can believe in and explain the existence of fossil fuels but not necessarily in fossils.

Isn't this more important than the clothes she wears?

Then I want to know if she is the kind of religious fundamentalist who would use her power as president to try and force her religious, scientific, and historical beliefs on me.

Why isn't anyone writing about today's Mason Dixon poll that shows McCain making moves in:

Missouri even
N. Carolina McCain +2
Ohio McCain +2

I hope that everyone hasn't given up.

This CNN was interesting because it reported that at a Palin rally in Florida on Saturday, not a single sign mentioned McCain's name. His name was nowhere to be seen.

Who's running this campaign?

"Anonymous" in the house is continually obsessed with dinosaurs. Perhaps he/she should switch from MSNBC to the Discovery Channel.

Palin never said that dinosaurs walked the Earth with humans. That was a Matt Damon lie.

She also never said she can see Russia from her front yard. That was Tina Fey.

Dinosaurs did cavort with humans on The Flintstones, Land of the Lost and Jurassic Park. Perhaps that is where you got confused?

Ed - also Ben Affleck's send-up of Keith Olbermann was brilliant. Heard Olbermann snuck into the rehearsal on Friday and was pissed.

Keith Olbermann originally started his prime-time career with Channel 7's Eyewitness News as a sportscaster. I didn't like him then - as soon as I saw him on, I would switch channels.

Do I like him today? No.

Since you brought up the "I can see Russia from my house" thing," you entirely missed the point of this.

Tina Fey, as satirists and comedians do, took something that Palin did say and made it funnier.

What Palin did say was alarming. What Fey said was funny.

In the interview with Charlie Gibson, Palin said, "You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska."

If see had been giving a geography lesson, that would be correct. But she said it during the discussion about her foreign policy expertise.

Later, in the interview with Katie Couric she cited the proximity of Alaska to Russia as the reason she has foreign policy experience.

People who repeat the line about seeing Russia from her house are making fun of her idiotic and naive statements.

The question about the dinosaurs was raised by a reporter for an Australian newspaper.

If Palin is a creationist, and thereby ignores science, it worried him about which other important national and international decisions that she would be called upon to make as president would be clouded by this religious belief.

The writer said that during her 2006 campaign for governor she proposed teaching both in schools.

The writer then goes on to quote a music teacher who had a couple of private conversations with Palin at the time she was mayor. She said she believed that the earth was created 6,000 years ago and that humans and dinosaurs walked on earth at the same time.

And Matt Damon's involvement was to ask the same question I asked: can she just tell us how she feels about when the earth was created, and if she rejects science?

SNL demonstrated that McCain doesn't support small businesses when he uses QVC to sell his stuff, instead of in small businesses.

I wonder if Tina Fey want unscripted when she ran her hand on the collar of what she was wearing, taking a jab at Sarah's high-priced clothes.

For both Sarah and John, they looked more like having moose-in-their-headlights when they appeared on SNL.

It looks like they did not get the sarcasm that was being shown to them.

Or, perhaps they really are that stupid.
