Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Monday

Ron Kaye's Saving LA Project met over the weekend to further solidify it's agenda and mission. According to Kaye, Heinrich Keifer agreed to be acting president, Nina Royal acting secretary and Tom Carter acting treasurer until further organizing activites are complete. In the meantime, the organization has chosen to focus on efforts to establish at "ratepayer advocate" at the DWP and to support the establishment of Griffith Park as a historic landmark.

In light of the recent economy and credit crunch Mayor Villaraigosa has called on all City department heads to start preparing for significant budget cuts in next year's budget. The cuts could lead to major cuts in services and lay-offs, in other words, the current situation could be forcing the City to get back onto a realistic spending plan.

Yet another screed positing the fantasy that transit tax scam being foisted on the County by Westside politicians can solve the traffic problems in LA is posted up over at CityWatch. It's been pointed out several times that you can't build enough subways and trains in LA to cut back on the traffic that plagues the City. In the meantime the measure, which must get 66% of the vote to pass, is running into oposition in the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley and eastern LA County.

Candidate for County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas is advancing a bill that would bring "congestion pricing" to road use here in Los Angeles. Simply put, you'd be required to pay to drive on the freeways you're already paying gas taxes for. Its just another way for the government to squeeze your wallet further in guise of solving some social ill. In other news, you can see Ridley-Thomas acting like a fool outside Saturday's Sarah Palin rally at the Home Depot Center.

In a shocking development Shelly Mandel, the President of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization for Women, has endorsed the McCain-Palin ticket according to Greta VanSusteren of FoxNews. According to VanSusteren this may lead to a number of other feminist leaders who do not support the Obama campaign to come forward and throw their support behind Sarah Palin. This has caused the intolerant of opposing viewpoints Democratic party hacks who run NOW to go apolectic and issue renunciations of Mandel and calls for her head.

Something in the water at the Associated Press. They're claiming that Sarah Palin's criticism of Barack Obama for associating with 1960s Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers is "racist." Odd, considering liberals are hit for such associations all the time. How is it racist? Or is it racist that ANY attack on Obama is racially motivated because Obama happens to be "black?"

Here is a story from 60 minutes which explains the current Wall Street crisis, this is for fools like Higby who want to blame the Wall Street crisis on one single root cause (poor blacks).

We all know Higby is a simple minded fool who votes for a person because she is hot and hunts wolves but maybe he wants to educate himself just a teensie-winsie bit.

MISHAPS MARK JOHN MCCAIN'S RECORD AS NAVAL AVIATOR
....Three crashes early in his career led Navy officials to question or fault his judgment.
By Ralph Vartabedian and Richard A. Serrano, Los Angeles Times Staff Writers
October 6, 2008
John McCain was training in his AD-6 Skyraider on an overcast Texas morning in 1960 when he slammed into Corpus Christi Bay and sheared the skin off his plane's wings.

McCain recounted the accident decades later in his autobiography. "The engine quit while I was practicing landings," he wrote. But an investigation board at the Naval Aviation Safety Center found no evidence of engine failure.

How is the "palling around with terrorist" comment racist? It's racist because only the kind of dumbass dirty white fundie trash who love Palin would condone such a silly attack. Nearly everything Palin says and does panders to racist dumbass dirty white trash---and to communicate with such is not a stretch for her.

Why does Ridley-Thomas have a hyphenated last name? Is it some kind of Eric Garcetti "partner" empowerment stunt?

Was Mark Ridley-Thomas "PALLING AROUND WITH HIS REPUBLICAN FRIENDS"??

Flashback,

Ridley-Thomas paid $2,400 to get his name on a Republican mailer touting the legacy of Ronald Reagan, according to a campaign finance report. The mailer praises Reagan for "his ideals of limited government and personal freedoms" and name-drops President Bush. It was shipped by an organization called "Continuing the Republican Revolution," an outfit run by Newport Beach political operative Scott Hart.

Candidates who received "endorsements" on the mailer paid Hart’s organization, according to campaign finance records. The Times got curious and asked if we can indeed count on Ridley-Thomas to champion a "Republican revolution." Ridley-Thomas' campaign spokesman, Fred MacFarlane, said: "Well, I think, you know, we can appeal to Republican voters as the best choice for all the people in the 2nd District, notwithstanding any revolution."

The mailer comes shortly after Ridley-Thomas said he would highlight his opponent's conservative streak and assist Parks, who is a Democrat as well, "in identifying himself as a Republican."

Did anyone happen to notice the Dow dropped below 10,000 into the 9,000 range? It's not going to be a matter of the Mayor asking people to make budget cuts...how funny that the mayor thinks it's not too late for that. (Unfortunately, he said he didn't know this was coming.) NOW, it will be a matter of "free market forces" taking over. It won't be an issue of "making cuts"...the cuts will be made in the form of "non-payments" on everything...whether it is budgeted, or not.

DON'T EVEN MAKE BUDGET CUTS...Its not going to matter. Their ain't gonna be money to pay for the stuff that IS budgeted. But don't blame Villar, he didn't know. And keep the Grand Ave Project and $5Billion housing project pumping!!!

AND, remember alarCON and the rest of you socialist wackos on City Council...HOME OWNERSHIP FOR ALL!!!

EVERYTHING FOR ALL!!!

National Organization for Women PAC Endorses Obama-Biden

STATEMENT OF KIM GANDY
Chair, National Organization for Women Political Action Committee (NOW PAC)

September 16, 2008

It is with great enthusiasm that I announce today, on behalf of the nation's oldest and largest women's rights organization, that the National Organization for Women Political Action Committee (NOW PAC) proudly endorses Sen. Barack Obama for President of the United States.

NOW PAC Supports Obama/Biden Ticket, Not Palin
On November 4th, California voters will go to the polls to cast their vote about the future of our state and our nation. The National Organization for Women Political Action Committee (NOW PAC) joined with many allied organizations representing a broad and diverse cross-section of U.S. women to endorse Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Both have long records of service, fighting to improve the rights of women, families, and working people. From voting rights to equal pay legislation to authoring and funding the Violence Against Women Act, it was clear to NOW PAC that the Obama/Biden ticket represents the best team for the kind of future we envision for women and girls.
A member and officer of the Los Angeles NOW chapter, Shelly Mandell, recently introduced Governor Sarah Palin at an event in Carson, California. Ms. Mandell was speaking as an individual and was not authorized to represent NOW, the NOW PAC or LA NOW in any capacity in connection with a federal candidate endorsement. As NOW President Kim Gandy said upon Palin’s selection , "Not every woman supports women's rights."
The use of Shelly Mandell’s Los Angeles NOW title was apparently intended to mislead the public, and indeed has resulted in local television outlets and internet reports misstating that LA NOW has “endorsed” Sarah Palin or that she has a record of supporting women’s rights. This in fact is not the case.
As President of California NOW and as a member and officer of Los Angeles NOW, I can assure you that there is no local or state affiliate of NOW, including LA NOW, which endorses or supports the McCain/Palin ticket. John McCain and Sarah Palin oppose many of the rights and freedoms we have fought for throughout NOW's 42 years, and we will not be pushed back to the days of back-alley abortions, forced pregnancies, and pay discrimination without remedy.
Nor will we let the media distractions deter our members and activists from our organizing for freedom and equality for all women, putting our hopes and our dreams, our hard work and our hard-earned money, behind a proven team for women: the next President of the United States – Barack Obama – and his running mate, longtime friend and ally of women, Sen. Joe Biden With equal ferocity we will fight to protect young women by defeating Proposition 4 and to keep bigotry and discrimination out of our state constitution by defeating Proposition 8 here in California.
Statement from CA NOW President, Patty Bellasalma

At a rally on Saturday in California, Sarah Palin offered up a rather jarring argument for supporting the Republican ticket. "There's a place in Hell reserved for women who don't support other women," the Alaska Governor said, claiming she was quoting former Clinton Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.

The statement came after Palin had recounted a "providential" moment she experienced on Saturday: "I'm reading on my Starbucks mocha cup, okay? The quote of the day... It was Madeleine Albright, former Secretary of State [crowd boos] and UN ambassador. ... Now she said it, I didn't. She said, 'There's a place in Hell reserved for women who don't support other women.'"

Actually, Albright didn't say that. The accurate quote is, "There's a place in Hell reserved for women who don't help other women." (Sources made the same point to CBS's Scott Conroy.)

Palin seemed to realize that the line could be viewed as grating. As the audience cheered, she remarked: "Okay, now, thank you so much for receiving that well. I didn't know how that was gonna go over. And now, California, let's see what a comment like I just made, how that is turned into whatever it'll be turned into tomorrow with the newspaper."

Albright responded to Palin's remarks in a statement to the Huffington Post on Sunday. "Though I am flattered that Governor Palin has chosen to cite me as a source of wisdom, what I said had nothing to do with politics. This is yet another example of McCain and Palin distorting the truth, and all the more reason to remember that this campaign is not about gender, it is about which candidate has an agenda that will improve the lives of all Americans, including women. The truth is, if you care about the status of women in our society and in our troubled economy, the best choice by far is Obama-Biden."

Don't fuck with Madeleine Albright, bitch. She will fuck your shit up, big time, you hack of a politician Palin. What an embarrassment to your gender you are.
