This is the city: Los Angeles, California. I work here. I'm an ex-mayor. Los Angeles is a magnet for people from all over the world. Some of them run for public office. Inevitably some of them stray from the golden rule and rule for those that have the gold. That's when I go to work. My name is Yorty. I'm a dead pol.

Over the weekend, the McCain campaign announced their plan to stop engaging in a debate over the economy and "turn the page" to more direct, personal attacks on Obama.
Perhaps this is because the policies McCain supported during the past 8years and wants to continue are pretty hard to defend.
During the S&L crisis of the late '80s, McCain's political favors and aggressive support for deregulation put him at the center of the fall of Lincoln Savings & Loan, one of the largest in the country.
In that crisis, McCain and his political patron, Charles Keating, played central roles that ultimately landed Keating in jail for fraud and McCain in front of the Senate Ethics Committee. The McCain campaign has tried to avoid talking about the scandal, but with so many parallels to the current crisis, McCain's Keating history is relevant and voters deserve to know the facts -- and see for themselves the pattern of poor judgment by John McCain.
Here is a 13-minute video that will begin airing tomorrow.
The point is that John McCain still hasn't learned his lesson.

It's often difficult to understand what Sarah Palin is saying .... kind of like Tom LaBong.
I think here she believes that the freedom of press is a privilege, not a right guaranteed by the Constitution.
94% of those polled here believe that Palin couldn't possibly get stupidier, that she has reached bottom.
I caution people to not underestimate her. She can easily reach new lows.

Ken Burns, famous historical documentary film maker and resident of New Hampshire, wonders what happened to the old John McCain that New Hampshire once loved. Obama is the real maverick.
He says that heroes do the opposite of what McCain is doing. They deflect attention from themselves.
The man who used to speak from his heart "now carefully hews to a prompter-read, soulless far-right agenda."
He has shown a profound indifference to our economic problems, and wants to continue the failed policies of the Bush administration.
If elected, he would become another Herbert Hoover.
"He has betrayed us."

12:01 I guess you don't like the message so you attack the messengers. Either this stuff is true or not. Either you believe it or disgree with it. Why don't you take a shot at that kind of response?
Otherwise it's kind of like talking to someone from a religious cult who doesn't want to have a discussion or allow their beliefs to be questioned.

Dear Stupid Dummies Who Disputed Zuma Dogg's Stock Advice Between Last October'07-May'07:
HA, HA...HA HA HA F*CKING HA!
Send your apologies to ZumaDogg@Gmail.com for ALL criticism and everyone who told me I was wrong.
If I said banks would be collapsing and the stock market would be at 10,500 in October and this was not like the other times (always bounces back)...
THEN HOW WAS I WRONG? I WASN'T! YOU WERE. AND I DID EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO TRY AND PREVENT PEOPLE FROM LOSING IN THE STOCK MARKET.
But YOU thought you couldn't be wrong and ZD couldn't be right.
YOU GOT IT BACKWARDS, ZD CRITICIZERS! YES...
YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO THE HOMELESS VAGRANT ON STOCK ADVICE, LOSER!
Don't say I didn't try and warn everyone, including my critics. But if I told you what to do next, you STILL wouldn't listen.
And that's why you are in this situation now, investors.
Johnny Olsen Voice: The homeless Zuma Dogg spent hundreds of hours studying the global economy and did everything he could to warn you, but you didn't listen cause you are arrogant and combative...
PRICE IS RIGHT SOUNDER: Whomp, whomp, whomp, whomp....(deflated sound of your portfolio)...Whooooomp!
(But don't worry, it's JUST about to bounce back. It always does, right ZD? You're not telling me it's as bad as it was in the (80's/fill in the blank)? You've been right all this time, ZD, but NOW you HAVE to be wrong.)

Higby will also need a double wide voting booth just like our beloved Homer Simpson.
