HOAX!
"Police sources tell KDKA that a campaign worker has now confessed to making up a story that a mugger attacked her and cut the letter "B" in her face after seeing her McCain bumper sticker [...]
Investigators did say that they received photos from the ATM machine and "the photographs were verified as not being the victim making the transaction."
This afternoon, a Pittsburgh police commander told KDKA Investigator Marty Griffin that Todd confessed to making up the story.
The commander added that Todd will face charges; but police have not commented on what those charges will be."

Good catch Joe. This chick is the white Tawana Brawley and a real piece of work.
I was going to write about her when I first saw O'Reilly slamming her last night. Michelle Malkin also was pretty sure that this chick was a nutbar.
No matter who, when you play the race card, you lose.

The "victim" has a backwards "B" on her face, I guess she did not know looking in the mirror while scratching your own face reverses the image.
At least Higby did not post this story like he posted the Bull-Shit story about Michelle Obama lobster meal receipt. The FatBoy has yet to say he made a mistake, but what can you exoect form a spinning liar like Higby and his side-kick Haikula.

Not so, Boss!
Al Sharpton parlayed the Tawana Brawley's race card into a media career. He got rid of the sweat suits in favorite of suits & ties.
It pays, even when executed poorly. Sharpton ruined the accused's lives and has never apologized.

I would like to invite JoeB to write about whether he thinks that an Obama presidency will be the end of the race card. We can agree to not allow it to devolve into name calling. I would be interested in hearing his view on this.

Before the hoax was uncovered, John Moody, Executive Vice President of FOX News, and a resident of Pittsburgh, wrote that if turns out that this claim from the 20-year-old McCain volunteer turns out to be a hoax, "Senator McCain's quest for the presidency is over, forever linked to race-baiting."

Of course the election of Obama will not be the end of the race card, but it will be a step in right direction.
This is not a simple process. People will play the race card, and like the McCain campaign is doing, using Obama's race and distorting his religious beliefs for their own gain, as long as it works.
Racial and religious tolerance does not come easy. If nothing else, Barak Obama, in a way like Jackie Robinson, has subjected himself to attacks by those hateful people among us who can't accept another person's equality because the color of their skin is different, or because they attend a difference house of worship.
Haikula, I assume that you are a decent person who found herself in bed with a campaign that houses the most hateful and intolerant people in our nation.

Great deductive police work by the Pittsburg force. Perhaps the "B" in the girl's face being backwards as if it were done in a mirror may have been a clue?

I can't speak for Joe but irresepctive of anything Obama does or not does there will always be poverty pimps playing the race card one way or another. Eventually it will end but nothing Obama does or nothing that happens to Obama will change that.
Anywhere there is a chance for power to be gained or a buck to be earned playing victim it will pop up.
And sadly to some extent some Republicans have decided to ape the Democrats and play the victicrat card. There are some aggrieved elephants to be sure (like Sarah Palin) but interestingly those are the ones not playing victim.

These type of things make you wonder how thouroughly researched this news reporting was before sending it through mass media to the corners of the globe.

Is Haikula going to criticize every post by Joe B?
Haikula had to jump into this comment section and look for her much needed attention. She needs to find another hobby besides trying to annoy readers of this blog. How do we make Haikula disappear?

Higby/Haikula:
The problem with blindly passing along every rumor and story line that the Republicans give to you is that you find yourself, more often than not, damaging your own credibility.
You could cover yourselves by adding something like, "The Republicans wanted me to post this."
A good example is how the McCain pressed the media to air the Ashley Todd story even while police had initial suspicions.
John Verrilli, the news director for KDKA in Pittsburgh, told TPM Election Central that McCain's Pennsylvania campaign communications director gave one of his reporters a detailed version of the attack that included a claim that the alleged attacker said, "You're with the McCain campaign? I'm going to teach you a lesson."
Verrilli also told TPM that the McCain spokesperson had claimed that the "B" stood for Barack.
