What? A Franciscan?
That's not a Franciscan robe, it is Dominican garb. The Saint depicted with Obama face is actuallty San Martin de Porres - a fitting connection to Obama who is about to become the 1st black president, San Martin is the 1st and only black Saint of the Americas.
Born in Peru in the late 1500's, San Martin is the patron saint of barbers and a very familiar figure is Latino neighborhoods. Today there is a city and University in Peru named after the saint.
