Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa wants shortcut past school laws
.....Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's school partnership is seeking exemptions from 86 state education laws, outraging employee unions that fear the move will weaken educational quality.
The partnership, overseeing 10 of the district's lowest-performing schools, has asked to be free from requirements on teacher certification, math training, the employee merit system, student promotion, student retention and other issues.
The partnership has to request the waivers from the district, which would then seek approval from the state. In response to the mayor's plan, district staffers wrote a proposal for the state Board of Education essentially to "waive all laws that can be waived."
This was O'Reilly at his best.
A gay guy named Frank, who admitted to using prostitutes, and how talks like he has no teeth, was caught like a deer in the headlights.

Bill O'Reilly is an idiot.
But even broken clocks are correct twice a day.
Barney Frank deserved all of this. Now, to make up for his lack of foresight, he tries to shove the bailout down Congress's throats.
Frank's treatment of respect, high-ranking, Democratic members of his own committee (Brad Sherman comes to mind) is disgusting. Their standing up against the bailout boondoggle is to be admired.
I wish we could all say "Goodbye" to Barney Frank's tenure on his committee.

Educational quality??? Exactly what kind of quality education do students in the LAUSD receive?
Neither the unions nor the mayor would recognize quality education if it slapped them in their faces!

For starters, let's examine how many idiots (yourself included) have managed to host a one-hour televised political commentary show that consistently outdraws MSNBC viewer numbers. Then have you or any other of the same idiots hosted a coast-to-coast radio show, and also found time to raise a family AND write a number of bestselling books?
What other idiot (yourself included) has managed to do that?
Let's not leave out the fact that he was also featured in the new release, "American Carol." It's about time we found out whether the neo-liberals can take "American Carol," after dishing it out the same (reference the release "W"). I'm betting there will be a bunch of whining and yelling from the neo-libs about "American Carol;" the same whining and yelling will not be coming from the conservatives about "W."
