Villaraigosa "Notably Absent" on Obama Latino Advisory Board

At least they're giving Villaraigosa a chance to speak at the Democratic Convention....NOT!

Why did you post Don Quixote's picture for this story?
The article states:
"If I've spoken to 10 major people (who were at the meeting), nine of them, even up until mid-July were still unhappy with Latino access and status within the Obama campaign and his outreach," said David Ayón, a senior research associate at the Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University and a close observer of Latino political affairs. "The relationship has been riddled with problems."
Who is David Ayon and why is he speaking for us! David is nohting more than La Opinion's Monica Lozano's "mantenido" (kept man)and Fernando Guerra's sidekick. David and his people bet on the wrong horse and now they are on the outside looking in. And the Latino numbers for Obama certainly don't relate to those "ten people" that Ayon allegedly spoke to.
The photo just reflects the SOUR fruit (puckered lips) borne of Villaraigosa's disloyalty.
As a relative newcomer to the blog, I still don't understand the Don Q. references. (I'm not particularly interested, though)
Lest subtlety not work, I changed the photo to a puckering baby.
Very reflective of the Mayor, except that the baby is not inherently a skeevy liar or cheater.

I liked the photo of the chimp better.
As a matter of fact, I like the chimp better than Villaraigosa generally.
I agree with 11:19, put back the chimp picture, it is a better reflection of Don Quixote and VillaBaboso.
The Mayor of the second largest cities in the U.S. should be have been at least invited to serve on the advisory committee. If I recall correctly, Cisneros got into some trouble for thinking with his other head too. That's shouldn't be a consideration.
But guess what? Villaraigosa has been a DISASTER as Mayor.
And he didn't have he wisdom to see that Barack was the Dem to back!
Cisneros' problems were a LONG time ago, NOT LAST YEAR! Moreover, Villaraigosa cannot speak in public. His hemming and hawing, even with a teleprompter, makes him untenable as a representative.
Stop believing Villaraigosa's press releases and check out the state of Los Angeles. The city is sinking financial and safely.
Antonio didn't "back the wrong candidate," he backed the right one -- who lost because she wasn't radical left enough for those who control the Party, like Nancy Pelosi.
For that reason, Obama won't win the election, his numbers are sinking by the day as people get to know him and realize Hillary was right about him.
I'm sure Obama's "punishing" Antonio for not choosing him first, but that's petty -- Antonio's Mayor of the second-largest city, the top Latino Mayor (for good OR bad) and what this shows of Obama's character doesn't bode well. A passive-aggressive tendency here.
Billary's not going away, and they remember their friends -- those of you writing Antonio's political epitaph have to understand he's not going away any more than the Clintons. Love 'em or hate 'em, we're stuck with them in our faces for some time.
I like the Clintons, but hate Antonio.
If you think Antonio chose the "right" candidate, how about writing another check for her!?!?
I agree that Obama is punishing AV, but he IS high-risk. You have to admit that. He has had nothing but trouble, and run us into a half billion dollar deficit.
It's really bad publicity if one month he threatens more than 700 job cuts, but ends up making none, with that sweetheart DWP deal.
Villaraigosa ain't going away even if he DOES lose the election next May. It's plenty early and some viable candidates will join Walter in making a run for it.
Meanwhile, Antonio can't even pick a winner at the track, which is where he'll be during primetime of the convention.
Yup the Billaries sure remember their friends espeically all of them who were either killed or committed suicide. Hillary has proven to be a SORE LOSER. She can't accept defeat gracefully and I'm thankful her sorry ass LOST. Any woman who would put up with a cheating husband all those years just for her political career has no self respect for herself.

Yes Hillary lost because of the Mayor of Los Angeles. I am sure all the voters in 49 other states gave a rats ass what the Mayor LA thought.
That said, the only region that should be looked upon is Los Angeles, and how did Hillary do?

BLAME THE VOTERS IN CD14 FOR THE PROBLEMS IN LA. It started in CD14 with electing Villariagosa as Councilman.Then they elected him Mayor. Then CD14 people elected Huizar and Yoli in LAUSD. The MEXICAN MAFIA lives in CD14, Mount Washington and Eagle Rock.

This is the snake pit where all the illegals, anchor baby cholos and peasants live! Everything changed 20 years ago when they started to realize they could sneak their way into the assembly and city council via CD14...just like they slithered illegally over the border! They are all ILLEGITIMATE!
Villar is an anchor baby and everyone knows it...it cracks me up when he says his grandfather came here 100 years ago..NOT!
I never cared that Antonio would leave his wife for a happier relationship, but I would never have gotten used to his girlfriend/future wife being Mexican, not EVEN an anchor baby, it still being her primary culture and livelihood -- and she was uneducated, a social climber who'd slept around with lots of married men, including that sleazy Mexican under a cactus. No way would she ever be anyone who could represent our city as "first lady" to the world without making us look even more like Mexico. If he was going to leave his wife it should have been for someone with some class or at least not the reputation of a scrappy little tramp.
Having said that, that's not why he's not selected for a primary national spot for Obama -- he's being punished for going with Hillary first and others rewarded.
But Obama can't diss Hillary supporters for long or he'll face major backlash. But if he doesn't learn to tone down the pro-illegal stuff nationally, he's DOA.
