Mayor's Democratic Mojo On The Downswing
It's not a good week for Mayor Villaraigosa when it comes to being a Democratic party superstar.First off the Mayor was passed over for a speaking spot at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. Next Barack Obama didn't pick the Mayor for his Latino- but Bill Clinton was chosen. Finally Villaraigosa's home state Democratic rival Gavin Newsom will be hosting a big deal.
Speculation is rampant that the Obama campaign wants to distance themselves from the Mayor due to his high-profile extamarital affair with former TV newswoman Mirthala Salinas.
Not to worry, I think Antonio's sharing a room with Bill Rosendahl and Jack Weiss at the Days Inn and will be on a panel discussion on "travel tips" Sunday before the Convention starts.

Name me a CA person who was chosen to speak during the convention? NO ONE.
Name a presidential campaign that won because of a "latino council" you cant.
As for Newsom spending his campaigns funds for Governor to host a party with MoveOn.org thats his right but it has nothing to do with "mojo" just "money"
Good. Maybe this will remind hizzoner that it's no time to be daydreaming about a run for governor right after he's re-elected. His ego may be interested, but the rest of us aren't.
If you look at the link, Gavin Newsom HIMSELF announced that he's hosting this concert, sponsored by Move-On among others. He is endorsing Obama there, but there's no mention here that Obama's endorsing him. Sounds more like Newsom's scaring something up to promote himself.
After Newsom's continued role in not actively shielding illegal felons from the law, even moving them to San Bernardino in secret, he has nerve showing his face in public. He's hoping the youth going to the concert he's staging with name bangs will be fooled -- someone should tell them otherwise. Trying to hide the facts from kids behind popular bands is so sleazy.
His 15 minutes are up!!!
He won't be re-elected, and certainly won't be gov.!

Talk is Hillary will be veep after all and he'll be associated with her. Obama owes Richardson a big one for ditching Billary in his favor, so he's the House Latino for now. Obama might feel he can't pick between Antonio and Newsom without alienating the other one so he's not picking anyone from California at all.
Villargruesome will be the perfect travel agent after his days in the mayor's office.. He's had all the training (and thensome) for the job!!
Villar needs to be drug tested!!

If Bill Richardson is the house Latino, how come HE isn't on the Obama Latino advisory group?
Because Richardson doesn't want to pigeonhole himself as "a Latino" -- he's already broken out above that and is on the general advisory board and is a general confidant. Antonio and the local Latinos don't realize that by being so xenophobic, they're marginalizing themselves from the mainstream.
Villar drug tested?
That will be a good campaign ritual for the next mayoral campaign.
In addition to coke, Antonio's "back injury" has also made him dependent - a la Rush Limbaugh.
His body oozes addiction: to sex, to notoriety, to pain killers, to the press, to his mirror, to his wardrobe, ....
Then there's the real reason why the first poster isn't as clever as the "peons" on this blog, Obama doesn't need to choose between two CA mayors when he's going to take the state anyway.
The smartest think Obama could do would be to name Hillary. Or should I say - the smartest thing the Democratic Party could do. It's one of the only ways to keep all of us rabid Hillary supporters in the party and out to vote. The smartest thing Hillary could do would be to accept. Forget her ego. She knows she really won. She should think about the Dem party now. After watching Joe B.'s McCain video, I'm scared of him.
Antonio, Rosendahl and Weiss sharing a room at the Days Inn, huh? Well, now that is a girl's fantasy. Antonio and Weiss together while Rosendahl videos it. They can sell them under the cash register like they did the Rob Lowe tape.
Whoever thinks the Mayor is through better get a reality check.
he will win re-election easily in the primary, and be back bigger and more important than ever.
And Walter and ZD can run against each other for last place.
