Bernard Parks, "this is your time"

Memo to the campaign of "Bernard Parks for Supervisor".
Rarely does an candidate for political office get "two hanging curve balls" of community issues to hit in the ballgame that is your contest for the 2nd District Board of Supervisor Seat against Mark Ridley-Thomas.
First, American citizens in your council district are being harassed by a politicize LAPD, for simply petitioning City Hall to let the voters decide the faith of a law, "Jamiel's Law", that would protect American citizens from crimes committed by illegal alien gang members.
Just think of all the free T.V. time you could of reap by showing up at Leimert Park, minutes after yesterdays "exercise in First Amendment bashing",to denounce Chief Bratton and Mayor Villaraigosa for inserting politics into the selective enforcement of city codes.
What a chance to take out those long-festering bitter feelings by bashing that arrogant, pompous north easterner who wasted no time in rubbing his endorsement of Mark Ridley-Thomas into your bruised ego, and is asking for someone 's Social Security number a violation of Special Order 40?? That opens the hypocrite angle to attack Bratton.
Thousands of working poor are having their meager pay checks "taxed" to fill the coffers of your challenger Mark Ridley-Thomas and family members bank accounts, according to dissidents within the local and SEIU. And it doesn't help the cause of Freeman when the "Old Gray Hag On Spring Street" resorts to the concept of "investigated reporting" (remember their Rampart reporting??) to fill column inches.
This your chance to stand up for the right of workers (mostly latino BTW) who had no say in how their dues money were being allocated. Also don't forget about exploiting that certain "Republican Slate Mailer"?? that could highlight Ridley-Thomas's true feelings for workers rights.
Bernie, with the Daily News reporting today that your campaign is reaching "Dysfunctional Mass" now is the time to hit these two issues out of the political ball park, take that Chamber money and run past home plate in November into the 2nd District seat.

Did someone actually give the vagrant a paying job?

Does this mean he can't collect his welfare check?

12;00 pm, Don't deflect attention from ex-Chief Parks.

He has that glare you see in the photo reserved for non-followers. You don't want that, do you?

Now he's ablt to work on erasing that memory of his simple choice to walk out of the Council meeting when the Shaw family and friends first came to speak and he avoided them entirely.

Tough choice, between Parks and Ridley-Thomas, whose huge war chest is from the pockets of the lowest wage segment of Maria Elena Durazo's union. Over $2 million from people earning min. wage -- thanks to his buddy Tyrone profiled here earlier, who helped his family out with a bit of the money, too, it would appear.

At least Bernie is upfront about what he's doing, so I'd still prefer to work with him. Bad timing on his part, though, to be pushing that no smoking ordinance, when the real killer is smog from congestion, and be stuck with bad PR from that Home Depot bill about day laborors.

I see his point, to save LA money, he says it's been $2 million/ year related to nuisances from the laborors on public property, while HD has pushed them off their lot and onto public sidewalks to avoid liability, yet is happy to have them nearby for the convenience of their contractor customers. It's just too bad that some pro-illegal groups are supporting the bill for the wrong reasons, for "illegal rights," twisting the whole thing.

Now this thing about the park -- he may or may not have known about it, but police have to enforce rules to fit all. If you crack down on unlicensed food vendors, that would have to mean handing out food to strangers. If you demand Latinos prove legal status by social security checks, that applies to the Shaws and Walter Moore, too. Poor Bernie's having a bad week.

I don't care if Ridley-Thomas gets support on the "lowest wage earners."

That's not my concern.

What IS my concern is watching Parks consistently ignore, and rudely so, the issues that are important to me.

What I do not want to see him do is get entrenched into a position where he can serve 20 or more years.

Bitter Bernie got his name for a reason. LAPD wouldn't have Rampart if Bernie didn't cover it up with his pals. He's one of the most corrupt Chief's this city has had. He did nothing for his officers and promoted corrupt friends like Chief Maurice Moore who the FBI, IRS was investigating for money laundering. Because of Bernie the city has been sued and paid out over $100 million because of Rampart. Ridley Thomas has done more for the people then Bernie has as a councilman. Oh, and let's not forget the $$$$$$ he gives favors for his rich friends at USC with special event waivers.

If anyone has ever dealt with Bernie on an individual basis, they already know what we're all talking about.

Being a slick dresser doesn't equate with integrity.
