An illegal alien who'd been deported and returned at least once after serving time for a felony lured a 6- year old girl into his home, promising to fix her bike, and molested her. Tried to do the same to her 3 year old sister.
According to the Times, Pedro Ortiz had a pattern of selecting a victim, renting a place near her and befriending her before molesting her.
Ch. 7 news reported last night that he was "an illegal immigrant," Ch. 4 didn't mention his illegal status at all, and the Times calls him "a Mexican national." I guess if people are offended by the word "illegal" (which is what they ARE, so it's stupid to take offense), they can use "Mexican national" which makes it clear WHICH country is responsible for them, their care at all levels from education to heatlhcare to incarceration. There could have been stuff on his Myspace acct that was taken down, but in any case, although it could affect what the Jamiel's Law is called, it's insane not to deport all illegal criminals AND gangbangers.
The Pedro Ortiz mentioned here who's a known, repeat child molester and was deported for a drug felony but returned, is a classic example of a criminal who's a mecace to society and should have been ID'd for a past arrest and then checking his illegal status and deportation, EVEN THOUGH HE WASN'T A KNOWN GANG MEMBER. Shows how limiting the law to only known gangbangers would let scum like this thrive.
If anything, Jamiel's law is not extensive enough, whatever it's called. Only the most insane should say that child molesters, drug dealers and murderers who are illegals/ nationals of another country here illegally, have greater rights than their victims and citizens.
The Shaws and Moore could get MORE sympathy be highlighting cases like this instead of limiting it to Jamiel and whether or not he had associated with bloods, which in itself doesn't make him a member as long as it was done for self- preservation: I mean, do you DISS a Blood/Crip who controls your street and can take your life?

I do find it hard to see that one who engages in the discipline and training needed to excel at football and track and keep up the GPA would even have much time or interest in gang activities.

Case in point is the 13 year old killed by the Newton copper I think his name was Kevn Brown when he backed up into him with a vehicle the kid had stolen. There were tons of photos of this kid wearing gang clothes and flipping his gang signs yet the photo the media showed was the school boy in a white shirt one. This 13yr old was on marijuana out at 4am and no one wanted to report the truth yet the officer got nailed in the media. Stupid media will spin what they want people to believe. Jamiel Shaw was in a criminal terrorist gang that has a long history of criminal murder and terrorism on the neighborhoods in this country.
