Saturday Special Hotsheet

San Francisco has always been goofy but can you believe they are actually spending money to advertise to bring illegal aliens to the city to get government welfare services? The city is spending nearly $100,000 to advertise it's sanctuary city status. Does that include free bus fare for gangbangers? Lets give them some free advertising right here. We'd be glad to send folks up there.

I should probably blog this on Monday but a reader sent in a correction to our post about Luke Ford's story on Kevin Roderick's alleged lies about his Pulitzer Prizes. Seems I may have been a bit too charitable to the Westside White Guy. I said that Roderick was an editor on the stories that won the awards. According to our tipster, old Kev was an editor at the Times but did not edit the prize winning pieces. I guess that's like if you work at a TV station who has a show that wins an Emmy you could call yourself an Emmy winner. Our source told me that Roderick "is a fraud; at the very least his claim is bogus." Stay tuned.

Wacko Jacko has the thinnest kids and Bitter Bernie has the fattest. Someone has actually taken it upon themselves (with a hefty dose of your money) to do a study on childhood obesity by Council District. Of course, they're probably going to recommend all kinds of government programs. I have a program that works - its called personal choice. If you don't put the shit in your mouth, you lose weight. It's amazing folks, I can tell its absolutely true.

The Foothill Cities Blog has an interview with Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton with the Presidential candidate giving some amazing answers.

That wacky dude who is allegedly the voice behind Captain Jack, Greg Nelson, has a piece in the latest edition of Citywatch celebrating NIMBYs. Captain Jack, uh, I mean Greg compares folks who oppose new housing as well as those who fought freeways we could have used now to American revolutionaries. Me thinks Greg be having a bit too much of the grape, savvy?

I say load the buses with illegal aliens and send them to San Franciso, then soon they can be declared the "Gang Capital of the World". If we are lucky Villaraigosa, Reyes and Huizar will ride the bus up to San Francisco.

Sam, the obesity issue is old, old news, and if you'd been reading the comments on this blog and paying actual attention to what's being said at city hall in meetings, you'd know that Ed Reyes has been blasting at CDs 5 and 11 for having too many parks and that's why the kids in his hood are fat. Claiming that it's racist to say that more parks in his hood only breed more gang locations, but he's admitted as much in the Times article about how he's building his parks as heavily-shielded fortresses (how much does THAT cost?) -- and we all know about McArthur Park, brand new Glassell Park's private park, etc.

Notwithstanding all evidence to the contrary, he told the Council on 3/18 that he wants to put projects next to the parks on the westsides, and is mad as hell at Zev and those awful people "who value property values," who won't let him.

He even brought this up on Wednesday during discussion about the MLK "peace weekend." Because it's the evil westsiders with their SKINNY KIDS who are responsible for racial tensions, fat kids AND (the real reason) not letting him and his buds profit from putting up fake LLP's to build slum housing in the toniest parts of town.

Zahniser caught this and reported.

And we know Jan Perry blames obesity on fast food joints. AND she's teamed up with Reyes to blame obesity in the hoods on the evil westsiders, again, and connected it all to billboards and Clear Channel. (Dennis Hathaway's article in CityWatch, "Jan Perry Plays the Divide and Conquor Card.")

Wake up, Sam.

You are ouoting Captain Jack?

Poor guy.

All that bowing and flourishing was kind of fun, especially when he drove the fool ZD batty with his vague hints and teases.

Oh well, life goes on...

BREAKING NEWS!!!

Allow me to be the first to expose a scam that is being deliberately and purposefully perpetrated on the public at large in LA County...by the Tax Assessors Office!

Many people, including myself, have their properties in a Living Trust or LLC. If these persons decide that they want to do a "Re-Financing", the mortgage broker MUST take that property out of the Trust for a short period of time...because a Trust is a "non-entity" unless it is generating an income. Most Trusts are definitely not generating an income!

Now...here's where things become very interesting!

During the short period of time between the time that the homeowner removes his property from the Trust, completes the necessary transaction with the mortgage broker, and returns the property back into the Trust...the Assessor's office RE-ASSESSES THE PROPERTY and the Homeowner's taxes are re-assessed at CURRENT market value!!!

Case in point: A very well known Hollywood celebrity owned her home in Brentwood for the past 20 years. Her taxes were $3500/year. She decided to take some cash out of her property a few months ago. She went to a mortgage broker...the property was taken out of her Trust for 3 days and returned back into the Trust. A few months later, her Tax bill came...her taxes went from 3500/yr to $11,000/year!!!

The mortgage broker said that he has been doing this type of transaction for years and years, and this has NEVER happened before. It was standard operating procedure! Take the property out of the Trust...put it back in! Mission accomplished!

As it turns out, another mortgage broker is reporting that he has FORTY clients that had the same thing happen to them! After further investigation, it is becoming known that there are hundreds of similar cases!

Lawsuits are now beginning to crop up against the mortgage brokers for not informing their clients of this scam from the Assessor's office! The problem is...the mortgage brokers were not aware of what the assessor's office is doing!!!

The broker of the celebrity client whose taxes skyrocketed from 3500 to 11,000 has contacted the Assessors office and was told to "just get a lawyer...and they would win the case"! This County official also said: "We are doing this to raise revenue...most people don't challenge it because they are too stupid...they just pay the increase in taxes...they don't bother getting a lawyer. If they get a lawyer, they will win"!

Rocky Delgadillo had better start running for the hills...because the City is going to be in for some HUGE lawsuits!!! The investigation is in it's infancy stage right now...but, believe me, there are a lot of ANGRY taxpayers out there who were not informed of this SCAM!!!

This is the City's revenge against Prop 13...most of the homeowners involved in the pending class action suit have owned their homes PRE-Prop 13!

HEADS ARE GOING TO ROLL!!!!

Stay tuned!!!!

Did you ask Captain Jack if it was ok to out him? WE love Greg.

Wish we had such strict enforcement here in LA.

...PHOENIX -- As it has become the favorite entry point for undocumented migrants trying to sneak into the US, Arizona has become a laboratory for whether a state can single-handedly combat illegal immigration. In recent years it has barred illegal immigrants from receiving government services, from winning punitive damages in lawsuits and from posting bail for serious crimes

MS:

Why did you delete my post rebutting the 5:28 AM Anon post, which is clearly wrong in most respects?

I endorse your deletions of all the stupid posts in Espanol and those of a former blogger here; his attempts to hustle readership are blatant and should be deleted.

But my post about the errata of 5:28 had valuable content for those who could be misled by him/her.

So, I suggest you "stet" it or delete the 5:28 which is clearly misleading and will cause lots of people to spend money on lawyers unnecessarily.

Mayor Sam/ higby gets the award for the ED REYES ASS CLOWN OF THE MONTH AWARD, SECOND CLASS.

Greg Nelson (Capt. Jack?) correctly points out that it would have been a disaster to have the "Beverly Hills Freeway" racing through that town and L A's Santa Monica Blvd., instead of what we have now, and it was "NIMBY's" who fought and prevented it.

Among other averted disasters.

Maybe your living out in NoHo where it's been an industrial area neglected and begging for attention makes you ignorant or spiteful of the folks in Beverly Hills and Bel Air who have spent generations slowly creating an area that's the envy of the whole country -- so you and Reyes the "Bring TJ to the HILLS CHOLO" want to trash it in a couple of years. (Yeah, that's good city policy.)

SOME NIMBYism is bad -- like that Cheviott Hills group which fought the subway for decades, and if we'd had started it in the 80's, we wouldn't be in this mess now.

They're STILL fighting the Expo extension west from going through their neighborhood, and insist it must go so much further south, that it will not only be so much more inconvenient to use that many people won't -- but by not connecting up to the currently almost done phase going to La Cienea, requiring a souther leg to Washington Blvd., then west to Santa Monica, will balloon costs from less than 6 billion to more than 11. Costing the city $4 billion on top of what they've already cost, is too much from one community. Their needs can be addressed, like no stops within a block of homes, without this.

That group which shook down JMB/Century City and spurred the city's passage of AB1818 to circumvent HOA's from doing such crap in future, is another case in point. So there ARE NIMBYs who have harmed the city -- but Nelson is right, we SHOULDN't turn the keys totally over to developers, and billionaires like Broad and Riordan, who don't live in the area or don't give a damn about it.

Nelson's reference to a "manual for how to circumvent HOA's" points up a really insidious thing going on between developers and planners.

One thing Mayor Sam just proved. He doesn't have a clue as to who the voice of Captain Jack is. So at least we learned that much.

You people are idiots or not paying attention. People have been posting comments for month that Captain Jack is Greg Nelson. I don't know if he really is. I could care less. He was an asshole trying to claim that Uli was Jack Hoff. Wouldn't put it past him.

Who's Uli? And what's the Jackoff meltdown everyone's talking about?

And who or what is PetraFried?

How do you know Greg Nelson is Captain Jack? Did Anonymousa tell you? Post the proof or cut it out, Sam. And when did Greg move to Phoenix?

I caught the beginning of the Jack Hoff meltdown. He posted he was leaving Mayor Sam and then made it like a joke. It was screwy, all Hoff's posts were like that, OFF, but not a true Meltdown.

Whatever happened next? Everyone would appreciate more detail on this "mystery".

Uli is NOT Jack Hoff. Trust me. Not that it matters. But why should Uli be tagged with being a moron? So Uli isn't Jack Hoff.

Noone cares about why Jack Hoff is gone. All that matters is that he is gone. And the blog is immediately a better space.

I don't think Greg Nelson is Captain Jack, although he may be, or may have been one of the contributors.

I don't think Mayor Sam should say that unless he really is very confident in his appraisal. I think he is wrong on this one. Perhaps he can clarify for us all, since he wrote it.

The Captain Jack crew, sad to say, is no longer allowed to sail as they once did, on such free and open waters. (Someone fired a cannonball onto their ship.)

Finally, I understand Greg Nelson is one of the good people and there was no room for any of that in the Neighborhood Council system.

I think everyone whose name was mentioned, in this round, has posted something about the other one.

No need to confirm or deny.

5:20, Thanks for the breakdown. I agree completely that Sam shouldn't say that unless he can is absolutely sure and can come back and clarify.

DOES ANYONE know what the Jack Hoff meltdown was about? What did he post that was so offensive.

The Voice is voiceless.

It's a fledgling rag that makes up stories, desperately tries to make themselves relevant and think they are journalists.

Well, Voice and you other gossip rags (print and online - you know who you are), get a life.

Roderick rocks.

Interesting that SF is declaring itself a sanctuary city, being that it is one of the most costly cities to live in, in other words, aside from alien Chinese hiding in SF Chinatown, there is no place in SF to live, even if you are a citizen. So it's really an empty leftie gesture, jsut to make headlines.
