Walter Moore will appear to discuss Jamiel's Law, overturning Special Order 40 for illegal alien criminals on Terry Anderson's radio program this evening at 9:00 p.m. on KRLA 870 AM.
With respect to Jamiel's Law, Moore says that "Word is spreading fast, and nation-wide," and "that newspapers as far away as Florida" are covering the campaign started by Moore and Jamiel Shaw's family to put an end to gang violence.

LOS ANGELES
2 are killed during moratorium
At least two people were fatally shot Saturday, breaking a 40-hour symbolic "murder moratorium" called for by civil rights activists to mark the 40th anniversary of the assassination of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

Doug McIntyre's Daily News article posted late last night, blaming our government from the feds to state to, above all, the locals who pander to illegals and refuse to repeat SP40, "a magnet" for "terrorists" like Espinoza, is very, very powerful.
He's right, there was no excuse to keep this animal in jail for just a matter of months for felony gun possession -- latest in a string of arrests -- and never check his legal status, returning him to the street to kill Jamiel Shaw next day.
Already has 50 comments, and I dare the blog's resident apologist for criminal, illegal alien terrorists, to come forward with his "support" for Espinoza and others like him.
THEN look at Reyes' crazy rants in City Council on 4/18 and 4/1, vowing to push his illegal aliens into the heart of the westside and hillsides, from Laurel and Benedict Canyons to Bel Air and Brentwood -- gangbangers and all -- with YOUR tax dollars subsidizing the slums.
'
If the Mayor is smart or has even one sane advisor among them, they'd better distance themselves from Reyes and the other Mexican CM's who all support Reyes, Alarcon and Huizar especially, pronto. Because Reyes' crazy plans/threats as head of PLUM, and illegal crime in the city, are being laid at the feet of the Mayor, whether he likes it or not.

9:44 - I think the problem for me with your views are they are extremist in one way. Some people are extremists in the opposite way of thinking about illegal immigration.
There must be a sane, possible, enforceable, humane solution.
I think we need to figure out a way to get the illegal criminals out of our state. The question to me is why was the illegal murderer not handled after his jail time was over. Why, at that point, can't they just deport him? I don't want to see a foreigner get picked up for speeding and have LAPD demanding to know if they are legal residents or not. But if you go to jail, for whatever, we should have the right to know if you're illegal or not and all criminals should be sent back UNLESS it was for DUI, speeding or a minor infraction.
So there has to be a compromise between the two sides of this (your view and mine) issue or else nothing will ever get done.
By the way, you know that a person who kills someone during the moratorium should also know that anyone other than us here blogging about LA politics or various other news/blog junkies (and I doubt the murderers are either of them) would have a CLUE that a moratorium existed!
I wonder if they told the people they've arrested so far that there was a moratorium that week on murder?

12:56: WHAT is remotely "extremist" about not wanting Glassell Park and other populations moved en masse to the single-family areas of Bel Air, and elsewhere in the city? Nothing, not one thing, and you have NO argument, don't address the issue, so you call it "extremist," "racist," etc. Death Rey Reyes, Tijuana Huizar and the rest, can't play that game. Exposed.
Only the most irrational "extremist" of any kind can actually advocate for knowingly destroying the property values and quality of life, and single biggest financial investment, of other people who worked hard for "the American dream of home ownership," in the smarmy guise of "social justice." It's so offensive and crazy on the face of it, all you can do is resort to name-calling and race-baiting. Shame on you.
You people even do that to Walter Moore for supporting getting illegal immigrant murderes off the streets. Double shame on you. Tell the parents of Jamiel Shaw and others getting gunned down all over town for not belonging to the "right" Mexican gang, or any gang, just buying a pizza or fixing a car, who got shot this weekend alone.

Good for Walter. There are thousands of us born and raised in this city that are sick and tired of the filthy, dirty, pig style way of living the illegals have brought to this city. The moron politicans pander to them which make them feel they are entitled. Walter needs to keep putting out there all the killings, rapes, robberies etc. by illegals

OH HELL NO....YES WE WANT LAPD TO QUESTION ALL THOSE FOOL BECAUSE MANY WHO ARE DRIVING AROUND WITHOUT LICENSES OR INSURANCE ARE DAMN ILLEGALS.

It is not these people's fault that they are forced to turn to a life a crime. These people come from families that come here to work hard. But they cannot even earn a decent wage at these jobs. We need to spend more money on things like scholarships and grants for education; extend unemployment benefits; provide free health care for those who cannot afford it; and fight for higher wages and fair and equal treatment for everyone living in this country. Maybe if you did some of this, you wouldn't have such overcrowded jails.
I know it sounds like I am running for office in Los Angeles with that platform, but I have not yet made that decision.
Anonymous said:
Instead of worrying about how you can target the decent people who only want the opportunity to work hard and educate their children to help achieve a middle-class lifestyle that they are entitled to, as much as everyone else living in this country; you should be spending all this thoughtfulness and scheming into figuring out how you can help these people who were burnt by predatory lenders stay in their homes. It's not very easy to run your city if the people who you rely on to do the work you don't want to aren't living in homes anymore.
Your system created the problem, so the elected officials who create the system should be doing more for the people it is hurting.
Anonymous said:
Look how the politicians took the money for the schools and wasted it and now the schools are broken. So who gets hurt? The children whose parents came here for the opportunity of a better education. But the elected officials have not been able to provide us with that education. Then they complain about the drop out rate and the fact that another generation can't move up into a middle-class lifestyle.
By keeping the education system in disrepair like this, there will always be a steady supply of low income workers and no one has to share their American dream with anyone but themselves.
Anonymous said:
Top Notch you're an idiot. You say, "middle-class lifestyle that they are entitled to." Hell no the illegals aren't entitled to shit unless they become LEGAL CITIZENS AND SPEAK ENGLISH. Breaking the law is breaking the law no matter how you want to spin. I'm a Latino and I'm tired of people making excuses for these dip shits making tax free cash as illegal vendors all over the city while hard working Legal business owners suffer cause they pay permits, health insurance, etc. and the illegal vendors don't pay shit.

The LAPD arrested these criminals so fast because Special Order 40protected the illegal aliens who were not afraid to come forward with tips. That's what cops care about. Not Walter Moore.
This grandstanding by Wacko Walter has no chance. Cops see through it and they're the only people who count when its about how they do their jobs. What's Walter pan for when Bratton and his cops inform the city that Special Order 40 aids them to solve crimes?
Special Order 40 is not a liberal law. It was Daryl Gates, still LAPD cops' favorite chief of police. Walter is making a fool of himself but what else is new?
So any loser blogger who wants to continue this weak argument should also start posting with the rhetoric that Daryl Gates, the founder of Special Order 40, was a cholo apologist, pro illegal criminals and gang murderers.
Anonymous said:
All the beat cops want to repeal SP40 because it keeps repeat, vicious gangbangers on the streets, to commit crimes over and over, endangering their lives as well as the citizens.
And it makes fools of them, because they're busted for felonies and back on the street in months, taking their incarceration as such a joke, they're not afraid to "prove" their stripes the day they get out: like the illegal Espinoza who killed Jamiel Shaw.
Your chief Bratton and Mayor and teh cholo Councilmembers threaten cops who say what they think, with punishment, and retribution. White cops are already being passed over, all they have to do is speak up and they're done. Half the force are Hispanics and they feel the same: get the illegal cholos off the streets.
Even a bleeding heart liberal, gang activist like Celeste Fremon posts pleas from cops to this effect on her site, Witness L A.
NO ONE sees "nada" and it's a big, fat lie that SP40 prompts anyone to come forward and solves crimes. It's the illegal gangbangers who keep the people afraid -- they know that the vicious animals will be back on the streets in months to get them.
Like the guy burned alive on Cesar Chavez, busiest street in the barrio, with dozens of onlookers but "nobody saw nada."
Stop spinning -- your Cholo bosses are murdering people and ruining the city and country by protecting the cholo illegal gangbangers, and everyone knows it.
Walter Moore is very brave to do what he's doing, despite the nasty attacks of those of you who call him a racist for wanting to put away and deport illegal murderers and felons. Shame on you, pro- illegal criminal apologists!

Ending Special Order 40 would not cause any wholesale roundup of people to look into their immigration status. Special Order 40 prohibits certain activity, and ending it would not COMPEL anything but regular police procedure.
Special Order 40 was created in 1979 as a device to help crime-fighting by not having LAPD routinely make inquiries into immigration status so that illegals would not fear deportation in reporting crime and giving information. Ex-Chief Gates and the city council created this when there were relatively few illegals and the city was not overcome with the negative impact caused by the huge numbers we have now.
In 1987, the federal amnesty law was used to legalize most of the estimated 3 million-plus illegal immigrants in the U.S. Special Order 40 began well before that when there was a lesser number of an illegal immigrant here in Los Angeles.
Not all of these illegals were from Mexico or Central America. The current estimates of illegals in the entire country range from 12-13 million to 20 million.
On balance, the cooperation produced that one poster may believe is due to the presence of S.O. 40 is overshadowed now by the intimidation that gangs create.
Many legal and illegal residents have the idea that reporting some types of crime to police is an exercise in futility at best. Some people just don’t like involvement or cooperation with police anyway. The positive impact of S.O. 40 as a crime-fighting tool is strictly theoretical unless someone has been keeping statistics based on ethnicity and immigration status.
Illegals comprise such a significant portion of the gangs that their removal from the U.S. streets will logically prevent crimes that they would otherwise perpetrate. The crimes are too often with deadly consequences.
Whatever can be done to follow and enforce the laws should be done. Gang members don't care about the laws and are more frequently challenging police in gunfire than in the past. We can't get to a lot to get to the citizen offspring of illegals who join gangs, but there is something that can be done for the gangsters who are illegally here.
To ignore this is to adopt the attitude of the City Council.

Exactly! They will ignore it and there it dies. Walter Moore gets his 15 minutes, and Maxine Waters backs the democrat, anyone but Walter Moore, in the next election.
Walter Moore gets the same old right wing racists he always pulls, but new voters? Ask the anonymouse, the skipping-record gang blogger, if even she's voting for Moore.
