Pre-dawn Missives for a Friday
Pre-dawn greetings to all on this Friday morning.........
There is a city by a big body of water that gets it, that being on the issue of runaway growth. The "OLD GREY HAG ON SPRING STREET" chronicles the on going efforts of the City of San Clemente in the O.C. to just say NO to growth. Memo to the former host of the "Western White House", beware of a certain CD 1 resident looking for a weekend home who would disapprove of your stance on growth.
LAUSD math equation for the morning, {(Bitter Bernie) + (Manic Maxine)} + Latino support = positive victory in June???, you opine on the final formula.
From the "Metro, East, by Northeast", elections are coming to Neighborhood Councils in Boyle Heights and surprise, surprise, Lincoln Heights (school buses on stand by for student voters). In Eagle Rock, students at Eagle Rock High School are hitting back at the principal for alleged retaliation over the on-going protest concerning the removal of the popular Football Coach. And as the sun rises over Assembly District 46, where will the future Assemblyman for the area be rolling out of bed this morning??
The Valley is going "JUMBO" over its new area code "747". Shall we take the time to bestow a fitting name to go with new area code?
Nominations for the April "ASS CLOWN AWARD" are now open. Please take the time to give your thoughts.
Survey for the staffers, how many of you young, hip, trendy gofers are heading east to Coachella for weekend fest of music??
Lastly we leave you with this thought to ponder.
How much mediation and intervention exercises will it take before the City Attorney realizes that a "BIG BOX HARDWARE STORE" is not wanted in the "GREAT S.T."???
See you tomorrow friends in the S.T. and lets take our city back!!!

Can Walter answer how the hell did the city get into such a huge budget deficit???? The worst in the history of our city. AND why are the moron city council members knowing bad a position the city is in still helping developers??
....Concerned about granting up to $65.5 million in tax breaks for Grand Avenue redevelopment even as the city grapples with its largest budget shortfall in history, Los Angeles officials on Wednesday insisted the project's benefits will outweigh the costs.
"We are making sure that this is all there is," Chief Legislative Analyst Gerry Miller said. "What we believe is this money is needed to help build the hotel and we will get a lot more in other revenue that we otherwise wouldn't receive."
Defense of the tax breaks came just days after Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa proposed a $7 billion city budget that seeks to hire more police and firefighters but slashes city spending and proposes dozens of new fee hikes for Angelenos.

I hate the Mayor. He's the worst this city has EVER had, hands down. He shows utter contempt for the people with his smug staccato press conferences. "Make no mistake" he can't talk without peppering his b.s. with cliche after cliche. Come on Antonio, can't you hire a writer who has a cliche dictionary?? I read at Zuma Times of yet ANOTHER fee waiver, this one for the Broadway Fiesta. To the tune of $165,000. Nobody is going to be there but illegal immigrants, and this is what our hard earned tax dollars are being wasted on. When will the citizenry rise up? Antonio you are a one term Tony!

Red Spot, Are you suggesting that one of the AD46 candidates is not a resident of the district? Do tell. Inquiring minds want to know.

You missed a story LA Times local ran yesterday about no-growth closer to home: over 10,000 people in People's Republic of Santa Monica signed a petition to halt building new commercial properties, due to gridlock. They don't need more job magnets without affordable housing, which would let some workers avoid the long commutes.
Funny, that's what leftie neighbor Bill Rosendahl keeps complaining about: That this "progressive" city has built no new affordable housign to replace the old rent- control rat motels being shut down. (Make rents too artificially low, and landlords can't or won't maintain them properly, just wait for them to rot and sell them.)
So L A, especially West L A but all along the Wilshire, Pico and Olympic corridors, has largely pass- through traffic going to jobs in Santa Monica. But this "visionary" city won't cooperate with L A on traffic mitigation it creates, like on the Pico-Olympic plan. Without them, locals complain that even if they go along with it, cars will pile up at the border. Funny how insular and greedy this "progressive" Republic is.
Another irony: Rosendahl's wafflign on going along with the Plan himself because he blows with every wind, claiming he's concerned about an extra hour during rush hour of no parking, hurting small merchants that rely on meters.
Then he wants to jack up meter rates to $4.00/hr. so no one will patronize the businesses anyway, or risk the even higher fines.
Sure, we should all be riding the bus and build the Subway to the Sea, but what do we do for the next 10-20 years before we finally get money for it, if then? Have Santa Monica keep creating job magnets, no housing, no cooperation on traffic, but empty "green talk?"

Hey amateurs (including you Sham) -These dumb asshats or whatever awards don't help you make the change you want . . .
For example on one nominee, it is already common knowledge that the Galaviz loser is not running for neighborhood council of that Lincoln Heights shitter. He has been announcing he aint running for the past 6 months.
He is making out of this pretty good - word in education circles is that you idiots raised his profile, spelled his name right, and the picture you all used was pretty good, so you actually raised his profile.
In a few months, he is going to be one of the highest ranking latino immigrant lovers at USC, making 6 figures, which is more than most of you losers make.
He owes you lincoln heights losers and you mayor sham a thank you letter.
He is laughing at you all the way to the USC credit union and he didn't even have to raise a finger.

Please, please, please name him asshat of the week!!!!

Let's all remember, congrats on killing las villas - good job of organzing against a developer without a plan. Now Lincoln Heights will continue to remain the butthole of the eastside.
Another fastfood restaurant on the way, coming right up

Yes, keep screwing with that property and watch the owners sell it to USC who wants more office space. The other Gala-loser connection - he gets the comission - Happy festivus bungholes!!!

Don't stop but keep speaking out. Galaviz's USC bosses have no clue what he's been up to and we should let them know. He's in the USC pr department. Doesn't matter how much money you make if you don't have a conscience and it doesn't bother you what an asshole you were against the community. David has turned on his own people to succeed. It goes to the heart of his lack of character and that my friend "money can't buy."

Yes, please speak out.
His bosses need a good laugh. That has already been tried and the response was...chirp, chirp, chirp, from the crickets.
All he or anyone else you idiots attack would need to do is show them all this anonymous BS. That will go real well to prove you anonymous heifers don't know what you are doing.
He isn't even in the PR department numbnuts, he gets poor kids into school, and attends some community events. His bottom line is he gets immigrant/alien kids to do well in school and the university is all over his jock.
Try again, and please attack him. Like others, they can use the free press.
Good night Alice, I am going to a bar and hopefully getting alittle some.
