Sulfuric acid, (also known as sulphuric acid) H2SO4, is a strong mineral acid. It is soluble in water at all concentrations. It was once known as oil of vitriol.

My "word verification" letters were: DQSUX. I wouldn't kid about this..

Is this what passes for a thread these days? If there were something clever about the caption I would understand.

What was Jim Hilfenhaus and his unionistas thinking with their orange shirts?

This is why the public hates unions. You damn fools don't see past your nose and were STUPID enough to go against an entire community.

If you're a trades union, and jobs is your single focus, then every development is a good development. Can anyone think of the last time that a construction trades union oppposed a development, and you think that we ever will?

6:51p, well made point. I don't have an angle on this, but I'm curious; In your eyes, does a trades union lose credibility with the Council when they are as out of step with the community as they were on this issue?

Your take?

I'm running out of Brylcream to slick down my hair, and it's all Greig Smith's fault for distracting me!

Sometimes unions do things for the wrong reasons. I'm a union member. I'm a union member who opposes the proposed Las Lomas project.

This was a wake up call about the unions. They will sell out their own people for a short term and IFFY agreement.

Cardenas was dead on when he brought that up.

Those silly orange shirts were pretty old-school. Like, "We are UNION and we do what we WANT. We don't really care about how bad a project is, as long as we can see a few bucks."

It was sad and great at the same time.

Everyone made fun of the union shirts. Ooh shocker, they MIGHT sway 3 or 4 council members..

But they lost. And they lost because this project SUCKS!! And they don't care.

I like the Brylcream comment. Pretty funny.

Shocking that the unions would believe the likes of Dan "we screw everyone" Palmer and go against the entire community.

So to the unions, every development is a good development, huh?

I guess I can never, ever, ever take unions seriously again because that statement shows how motherfucking stupid you yahoos really are. You don't have a brain in your heads. You're just pro-union and pro-development.

I guess that's why you're losing your credibility all over America. You're a bunch of losers.

Hey Hilfenhaus, you like having that big huge L stamped on your forehead??

Good, remember that when you and your wife want more county committee seats. Ha Ha. I think you're going to win. Hahahahaha

Or not. Losers.

Awesome.

9:06p knows how to bring it.

Anyone else?

What is the Labor POV?

IS all development good development?

Alarcon said that stopping the process now will give the county BOS the power to take over and move forward with Las Lomas.
Is that true?

An absolute lie. Palmer tried to annex into the County. They turned him down. Then he tried Santa Clarita. They turned him down. Lastly, he came to LA. They turned him down.

We were his last hope. The best he can do (besides his LA strategy that I'm not willing to discuss here)is go back to the County and they will give him his 250 houses. That is all he can do.

Unless he sues and that would be the best! There is nothing to sue for and that was pointed out in council today by the opposers and by Greig Smith.

I did not hear Alarcon say that today.

He was reaming the sweet Mayor of Santa Clarita for "coming here and telling us what to do" since he claimed they just approved Newhall Land and Farm (20,000 homes). But that was the County and not the city of Santa Clarita and I thought Alarcon treated him badly. It sucked.

Well, when 6:51 discussed unions, he said:

"Can anyone think of the last time that a construction trades union oppposed a development, and you think that we ever will?"

By using the pronoun "we", he insinuated that he/she was a union member.

Therefore one must believe that they believe that all development is good development. Which makes them moronic, brainless twits.

Thanks Jack for saying my post was awesome. You ripped me last week for something I said. You just can't win around here.

And I don't know if you watched the council meeting but I guarantee you that is exactly what Alarcon was thinking about Greig.

Hey 1:03, Las Lomas doesn't have to "annex into the county." It's already IN the county. It's not in any city, and Palmer thought he could get a better deal from the patsies in LA City than he could from the County, so that's why he chose to try to annex to LA.

As for the unions, Hilfenhaus would sell his wife into slavery if he thought it might get the Laborers union a few jobs.

You are right. I meant to say he presented his proposed project to the County and they turned him down. Then Santa Clarita, then Los Angeles.

My bad.
