Governor Newsom?

Gov. Schwarzenegger with San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and Grace Slick.

There has been some buzz in recent days about Mayor Gavin Newsom's political ambitions--most suggesting that run for Governor in 2010 is in the cards. Newsom joins a handful of others also thinking of that 1st floor office in the Capitol: Attorney General (and former governor) Jerry Brown, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Treasurer Bill Lockyer, state schools Superintendent Jack O'Connell, Lt. Gov. John Garamendi and former Controller Steve Westly.

Here is some analysis by Dan Walters. How do you see the race going?

Thanks, Edward. I'm going to stick with my original prediction of Clinton vs. Huckabee...

It's really laughable every time I hear anyone's belief that Villaraigosa has a shred of a chance to be elected to anything.

He won't be Mayor.
He won't be Governor.

Gavin is one hot man. Latina women all over are already mentioning his name. He's smart, has charima and leadership. He was honest unlike the dried up raisin Antonio about his affair.

Put a picture of tall, handsome Gavin next to the very short, very ugly, dyed hair, dyed white teeth, greasy, smelling Antonio

But he has filled all those potholes. Has to count for something.

11:55 makes a great point.

Spurned Latinas will naturally gratitate toward Gavin, even though he had an affair. At least he didn't lie about it. Moreover, his wife (Kimberly Guilfoyle) had an affair, too.

You put these two guys together, Gavin wins hands-down on looks. Plus, he's about 10 years younger.

Oh yeah. He also passed the Bar and speaks clear, clean ENGLISH without stammering.

Here is some more news for Ed HeadUpAss who doesn't know the real cost of too many illegal aliens from mexico.

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-azusa26mar26,1,7568812.story

Besides Flores, seven other Azusa 13 gang members were convicted of the crimes and sentenced to lengthy prison terms -- five of them in one 2004 trial.

Azusa's experience shows how a few gang members following directives from the Mexican Mafia prison gang can become a public policy issue, scaring residents while taxing the budget and police resources of an otherwise peaceful town.

For more than 15 years, the Mexican Mafia prison gang has ordered some Southern California street gangs to "tax" drug dealers and funnel the proceeds to gang members. In some areas, Mexican Mafia members have ordered street gangs to attack blacks.

Hate crimes spiked to 17 in 2000 and fell to nine in 2001, including three firebombings of homes of African Americans.

Most of the hate crimes were attributed to Azusa 13, whose members would drive by and shoot into apartments where blacks lived.

Azusa's population is only 3% black. "There were occasional sporadic hate crimes before that, but nowhere near this number and to this extreme," Gonzalez said.

In the 2004 trial of Aguilar, Ramirez and three others, an Azusa 13 gang member named Eduardo Caballo testified that the gang would routinely go "hunting" black people.

I hope it's Villaraigosa, but if it isn't, Gavin would be my second choice.

As long as Arnold is gone, I'm good.

Actually, Gavin Newsom is as EQUALLY good looking as Antonio Villaraigosa.

Gavin's not that tall. You are some kind of Antonio hater to say that our Mayor is very ugly, greasy or smelly. He might have dyed hair and bleached teeth, but so does 80% of the population. Don't forget that Lasik Surgery...damn him to hell for that. I have been around him many, many times and I've never smelled him nor did I ever think there was anything greasy about him.

You're a freak 11:55. That post wasn't written by a woman, so stop trying to quote Latina women.

It is true many Latinas are talking about Gavin Newsom but they're also talking about Jerry Brown. Gasp! It may have something to do with actually wanting an intelligent, progressive governor. Looks alone mean nothing.

Gavin Newsom? Governor?

A-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

That is really funny. Hilarious. Not one guy would vote for him. Slept with his best friend's wife.

Also, when it comes out that there is no substance behind him, the intelligentsia, even San Franciscans, will leave him in droves. He is a remedial reader (worse than Antonio!), dyslexic, etc.

Let's face it, he's a dumb, disloyal, spoiled little rich boy who pandered to San Francisco liveral voters to get elected. That stuff don't fly in Kern County.

NEXT!

Lockyer? Hilarious. His mascara runs when he cries at his own speeches.

Garamendi? To be considered serious, you have to have never run once and lost. OK, twice. OK, three times? Naw, sorry, if you have been running for governor longer than Britney Spears has been alive, you are automatically disqualified.

NEXT!

Antonio? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

He got elected to the Assembly because of a decent campaign and the whole Bill Mabee thing.

He got elected Speaker because he won the increasingly amateur Assembly's popularity contest.

He got elected councilman because the eastside voters were proud of his accomplsihments (speaker).

He got elected Mayor because white liberals were enamored with his story, and bought his BS.

Now, with his story exposed, his efforts amounting to zero accomplishments in LA, and his blatant nonstop ambition in the paper every day, people no longer like him.

Antonio: You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

He will not go beyond the Mayor's mansion.

Who does that leave? Governor Moonbeam Part II.

The Mayor will never elected as governor, the news about all the daily mexican gang killings in Los Angeles will be making national news.

The story further points out how, on orders from gangsters in state prison, members of Azusa 13 targeted black living in, and around, Azusa.

As far as I'm concerned this is another clear example of a race war that civic leaders and law enforcement claims isnt' happening.

Newsome didn't lie about his affair? Give me a break.

He was sleeping wiht his scheduler/top aide, who happened to be married to his best friend/campaign manager.

She and her husband went to a couples weekend to try and get their marriage back on track, and she decided to "come clean" and tell her husband about the fact that she'd been screwing his best friend.

Her husband promptly resigned, as did she.

After it became well known, then, and only then, did Gavin come clean.

No man will vote for for him, or anyone who sleeps with his best friend's wife. That is unforgiveable.

Besides, Jerry Brown is a lock for election to Governor, unless they catch him with a dead girl or a live boy. The latter is possible, but so far, he's been able to conceal his sexual preferences.

Mexico drug war opens bloody new front on U.S. border

Reuters

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico (Reuters) - Brazen Mexican drug gangs are escalating their war with the army and each other, murdering a record 720 people this year and opening up a gruesome new battle front on the U.S. border near Texas.

Nationwide, the pace of drug killings is well ahead of last year, when President Felipe Calderon's military crackdown on the country's powerful smuggling cartels began in earnest.

As the army struggles to contain bloodshed in hotspots from the border area to the Caribbean coast, murders in rundown Ciudad Juarez, over the border from the Texan city of El Paso, have flared to unprecedented levels.

Dude, we'll sleep with anyone ourselves so we'll vote for any man who scores with his best friend's wife. Get real. If my best friend bones my wife, I'm glad he thought she was worthy. If I bone my best friends wife, I hope I don't get caught because he's not as understanding as me. If he did not catch me, he would vote for someone who slept with his best friend's wife without thinking twice.

Will someone please tell Zine he's an idiot for this quote in DN.

...Zine, who chairs the immigration task force for the organization, said many of the people who are now considered illegal immigrants came to the U.S. legally on student or work permits and have subsequently been caught up in changes in the law.

WRONG WRONG WRONG ZINE. Thousands are here ILLEGALLY. They are BREAKING THE LAW. No wonder our city is in such a fucking mess when you have a Gang banger, cholo Mayor, and clowncil members who support illegals. Everyone talks about this city not being this screwed but happened after Antonio took office. Taxes, budget deficit, lack of cops, kids being overcharged to go to zoo, traffic, overcrowded schools, closed healthcare facilities, gang violence all because Cholo Mayor and idiot council members support ILLEGALS. Many LATINOS born and raised here DO NOT SUPPORT ILLEGALS..CALL ICE

Do you clowns who hate Villar because he's too pro-La Raza/MeCHa, really want Newsome? He's worse, declaring San Fran an actively sanctuary city, spending ad money to lure illegals. (Who will be able to "vote" for him as Gov., over Villar?)

Even L A isn't that bad, and Newsom has called L A "not welcoming enough." Do you want Newsome to turn all of Cal into a "Sanctuary State," luring those Arizona, Utah and other states drive away? This is the most dangerous creep around.
