AP v. LAPD
AP, today, in Study shows suicide risk for LA officers:
A report presented Tuesday to the Los Angeles Police Commission says 19 officers killed themselves between 1998 and 2007, while only seven died in the line of duty during that time.
I wonder what the LAPD rank and file think about that only?

Joe, both the officers who took their lives and the officers whose lives were taken are victims. Makes the case for SWAT requirements to remain as rigorous as possible in both mental and physical conditioning.
I think the author of the article used the unfortunate "only" to move emphasis onto the relatively larger # of suicides... but it was an unfortunate choice of wording.
