Alarcon Aide Issues 'Warning' to NC Board
Hot from the Whistleblower Hotline's Valley Bureau, more on the Misappropriation-Smishappropriation front.
Tonight the Foothill Trails District Neighborhood Council had two items on their agenda directly related to Zorro Marxist’s council motion (08-0481) taking $100,000 from the Hansen Dam Environmental Awareness Center fund to pay for truck driver training.
1. presentation by Alarcon aide John de la Rosa on the truck driver training program
2. community impact statement opposing 08-0481 'caus the Hansen Dam fund is not for this purpose (as already discussed here...)
First De la Rosa, who used to run Lopez Canyon Landfill when it was open by the way, gave his own version of the history of the Fund. The gollygeeamazing bits - De la Rosa saying that it did not matter what the City Administrative Code says about this fund. Alarcon could and will spend it any way Alarcon wants. He told the board to forget what the City Administrative Code says, end of story. ‘It’s (o8-0481) going to happen no matter what’. Also, Alarcon will be moving the money to a new fund of some kind.
Most scary! when FTDNC board were about to pass the CIS, De la Rosa in his best Sopranos voice - “(if you vote for the CIS) …you will be pitting community against community.”
De la Rosa was asked three times what he meant by this. He never responded, just weird quiet laughter was emitted by Alarcon's rep. Spooky!
Even spookier! His Zorro'ness is the chairman of the City Council Education and Neighborhoods committee which advocates for neighborhood councils at the City Council level.
Heard from a person in attendance: “...it’s really creepy -- this notion that he created this fund in the ‘90s, goes away on to two different jobs, and comes back (treating this fund) like its his money that he buried in the back yard and is digging up or something."
What do you think De la Rosa means by "you will be pitting community against community"? Ah hah! Now we know where the bodies are buried!
Next: Zorro makes the NC board an offer they can't refuse.

It's sounds like a threat to NC's to me? It's in the same vane as "do as I say, not as I do or else!" It seems to me to clearly be an "in your face" violation of the law and definitely needs a counil file iniated to stop this underhandedness before it becomes a "course of performance" on similar issues!
Get busy FTDNC for the good of other communties who may have to go through simiar circumstances in the future! No one has the right to flaunt the law and break promises that were made to a commuity gave who so much in return for funds to be used as originally agreed upon.

Are you sure no monsters are hiding under your bed? What kind of yellow journalism is this? I'm not saying this isn't inappropriate, but I am saying you are sure did try to slant the picture with your own perceived embellishments.

There is the journalism where the newspaper reporters are sleeping under the bead, like the L.A. Times reporters.
The Los Angeles Times would not know a city scandal if it bit them in the ass. Zuma oops PetraFried knows more about city corruption than all the L.A. Times reporters combined.
I am not sure what color incompetent reporting is but the L.A. Times in gushing in the color of incompetence.
I am not Petrified in the city, so please don't associate all that I know about corruption with petrified.
And more importantly, please do not give me credit for Petrified's threads. You may see some similarity in styles...but lets' just say there is a little too much mindreading in Petrifried thread.

He's always bringing up how he's new to the Council "this time" around but has been there before, and on the Assembly -- to give the overall impression he's more exerienced and entitled to anyone else to get his way.
Because he knows how the game is played. From the way he was blocked on Las Lomas, seems people expect a little more transparency than when he aped crook Alatorre.
How do you reconcile this with Alarcon being such a big promoter on the Council of NC's?
And then idiot Janice Hahn telling the Congress of NC's. "you have a good friend and defender in Alarcon?"
Maybe he wants to set up NC's so he can use "his" local ones to rubber- stamp his plans and use of funds -- that way he did it his last time around on the Council?
2:00 -- I can't reconcile Alarcon's general public stance on NCs with his aide's behavior.
I think you're on target there with rubberstamping. But this is exactly why we have NCs now, in theory anyway -- to add community participation,transparency and due diligence, and get rid of the rubberstamp.
