Open Thread for Presidents' Day
I am sure some on the lunatic fringe of the radical right aren't surprised, but former President George H.W. Bush (aka Daddy Bush, Bush 41, etc.) has endorsed John McCain. The former President is absolutely right that the GOP - like it or not - must get behind McCain, that McCain's credentials are solid and even with his pro-illegal philosophy he's still a better choice than Barack or Shillary (who are also pro-illegal so what's the point?)
Lots of good stuff below with Zuma's report on more CD14 nonsense, alleged shady Laurette Healey campaign finance reports and more shenigans at LA's newest hotbed of alleged corruption and mismanagement, the DWP.
In other news, we're glad to hear that Former First Lady Nancy Reagan is doing well following hospitalization after falling in her home. She did not break her hip and should be sent home today.

Homeless Dave is now offering Stock tips. That's one way for Higby's fat ass to wind up in a sling. Another way is for the fatboy to keep slandering and posting anti-gay rants about Laurette Healey.
I'm done with this blog. If Higby and Mailander think its cute to air the drivel of a homeless, smelly, loser 50 year old man who begs for money at Starbucks and Kinkos then I think its time for the rest of us to start a new blog.

A former Fleishman-Hillard executive who became a star prosecution witness after admitting to bilking the Los Angeles DWP out of tens of thousands of dollars, was sentenced Monday to three years' probation. Steve Sugerman had faced 15 years in prison and fines totaling $750,000 for his guilty plea on wire-fraud charges. But prosecutors recommended leniency in exchange for Sugerman's testimony against his former boss, Doug Dowie. He and John Stodder, a former public-relations executive who joined the firm after Sugerman left, each face more than 200 years in prison after their convictions on conspiracy and wire fraud. As part of his plea agreement, Sugerman admitted to defrauding clients out of $120,000, including thousands of dollars in hours he billed but didn't work. Richard Kline, Fleishman-Hillard's general manager in Los Angeles, said it would be inappropriate to comment on the sentence. The firm paid nearly $6 million to settle a city lawsuit alleging overbilling. Dowie and Stodder are scheduled for sentencing Oct. 2. Los Angeles Daily News_ 9/19/06
