BREAKING NEWS!!! Los Angeles Times endorses Obama, McCain
The Los Angeles Times breaking with the past tradition of not endorsing Presidential candidates, will give their blessings to Obama and McCain in its Sunday edition.In anything that has to do with the "OLD GREY HAG ON SPRING STREET", it is the "OBSERVING WEST L.A. LIFE AND HIS TIMES" web site and its former Times scribe Kevin Roderick, aka, "Westside White Guy" who broke this news.
My first thought upon reading this is first to conmend the Times in finding two worthy Democrats to endorse.
But then the Times was reaffirming their left of center political viewpoint with its newsroom, West L.A. reader base, and retirees such as Roderick, Conrad, and Boyarsky. Plus the "DEAR LEADER" of main stream news bias, Tim "KIM IL" Rutten must be happy.
But also, what does this say for the persuasive powers of one Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa? Just a couple of weeks ago Villaraigosa and "MRS. BILL CLINTON were chatting it up with the scribes in the newsroom on her "meet and greet" with the editors in the "PEOPLE'S EDITORIAL ROOM".
I guess the luster, power of persuasion and political capital is trending downwards for the once bright star of the emerging latino political community.
So much for the moniker "LA ANTONIA TIMES".

Obama has been openly and shamelessly pandering to the illegals and the way left, that's why. Which is why Hillary should be the better choice.
He said at the debates that any claim that illegals were hurting the general economy, or blacks in terms of getting jobs, was scapegoating -- denied any negative impact at all.
He just plain lied to get their vote. And that of formerly militant Latino unionists like Durazo.
He knew that Hillary was slated to get the "latino vote," but that she wouldn't pander an lie -- he's all for driver's licenses for illegals, she isn't after seeing NY Gov having to do an about face in response to public fury.
So Obama may be the darling of the liberal left, but he'll lose bigtime in the general election.
The Times has been rudderless since the last couple of editors were fired, and HELLO, Zell and the parent Tribune are owned in Chicago, Obama's hometown.
Dumb ass Billary has flipped flopped as Zine and Smith in council. She wavered on the immigration issue, she supported the IRAQ war and tried to say different and now the people know. Finally the LA Slimes does the right thing...Antonio must be livid.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY -- New statistics from the Department of Public Social Services reveal that illegal aliens and their families in Los Angeles County collected over $37 million in welfare and food stamp allocations in November 2007 – up $3 million dollars from September, announced Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.
Twenty five percent of the all welfare and food stamps benefits is going directly to the children of illegal aliens. Illegals collected over $20 million in welfare assistance for November 2007 and over $16 million in monthly food stamp allocations for a projected annual cost of $444 million.
“This new information shows an alarming increase in the devastating impact Illegal immigration continues to have on Los Angeles County taxpayers,” said Antonovich. “With $220 million for public safety, $400 million for healthcare, and $444 million in welfare allocations, the total cost for illegal immigrants to County taxpayers far exceeds $1 billion a year – not including the millions of dollars for education.”

Um, excuse me...Schillary is rollin' with Antonio. Obama WISHES he could pander to the amount of illegals Antonio brings to the polls, I mean table.

Funny, you are saying that Barack is going to lose big time, but he is using the strategy YOU, I mean the Clinton campaign is using. (Except he just yanked the rug out from under your strategy. HIS BAD!)

I love the closing paragraph in the Times endorsement:
"In the language of metaphor, Clinton is an essay, solid and reasoned; Obama is a poem, lyric and filled with possibility. Clinton would be a valuable and competent executive, but Obama matches her in substance and adds something that the nation has been missing far too long -- a sense of aspiration."
The question is, to paraphrase Mario Cuomo, how does a campaign of poetry translate into the governance of prose? I'm rooting for Obama but I guess we'll just have to wait and see ...
You know Billary must be scratching their heads wondering what the hell happened!!! They were sure Antonio would be the rock star they thought and get them all this attention from the Latinos. Funny thing is no one told the Billary's that Antonio has lost tons of support from Latinos for his failed leadership in the city. Now word is LA OPINION is coming out to endorse Obama.
Obama said he wants drivers licenses for illegals. Hillary said no drivers licenses for illegals. That is probly why they are backing Obama.
