Hey Kevin James...Did you hear that illegal immigrants would get checks in the stimulus package?

I hope the local and national talk show hosts are sitting down:
Illegal immigarants would be eligible for U.S. stimulus package, if passed "as is".

Tom Tancredo has just mentioned that he fears non-citizens will get the check, then send the money to their families outside the U.S., which would stimulate another economy, besides U.S.

DEMOCRATS TO END POVERTY -- #1 ISSUE: John Edwards just announced that he spoke with both Barack and Hillary and through them is delivering the message that they are committed to (I thought he was going to say a "clean campaign"); but he continued, to end poverty in the U.S. That gets kinda expensive. The Republicans are probably making the inaugural plans as we speak.

BOND INSURANCE CRISIS TO BRING DOWN THE STOCK MARKET:
I've been crying that the sky is gonna be falling when the calendar turns to February over the bond insurance pending crisis. Well word is leaking out to the media, and although the market was up 125 points, after the Fed announced a Wall Street pleasing half a point rate cut (the interest rate banks have to pay to borrow money) -- at 3:15 PM, it started a downward turn, and went south 200 points to close down 37 points for the day. And the downward trend was only "saved by the bell". Reason? News of bond insurer downgrades starting to fly, and word is starting to leak that this could be much worse than anyone has accounted for (publicly). I'm not sure if the newspapers are covering this stuff, but if you are interested in further analysis, it is at StrategyUpdate.com (daily blog link)

Story on CNBC website Wow, did my Batcomputer and Los Angeles street sources call this one!!! I have NO idea how they know these things, when they do...I don't have to, as long as I keep listening -- and keep blogging the news -- without second guessing whether this is going to be the time they are finally wrong.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that the idiot bitch Maxine Waters endorsed Hillary today. To many of us that's a curse. She's a joke in her own district and didnt' they come out with corruption with her and her husband, son and daughter all getting paid from a scam?

Zuma.

The people getting checks are people who filed taxes - so obviously you are not getting one. If illegal immigrants get checks, the employer is responsible for filing their W2's - something you obviously never earned.

If those checks go to Mexico - what products do you think they are buying - who is the largest trading partner with the U.S., who consumes the most American goods - Mexico.

So get off your race baiting bullshit. Why don't you go out and get one of those jobs that Americans won't do - that is if you are an American.

Dumbass.

How about if the checks are cut to citizens only, and the money is spent not only on merchandise produced in the States, but spent in stores and elsewhere in the States?

I'm not saying LAX workers (and other illegal immigrant workers) don't deserve a Democratic bump in pay/fudge, so they can afford to show up to provide the services that keep businesses ticking: But when you talk about something like stimulus pay, which is a gift or bonus, so to speak; in other words not an entitlement -- not even welfare -- well, I think something like this will be a tipping point issue for some.

If you still had me with LAX and a bunch of other issues like that...you lose me on this one.

Maybe I'll soften and change my opinion a bit...but I don't think so. If I thought writing these checks to illegals would be the solution to any economic problems they are supposed to be stimulating, I would be all for it.

Again Zuma,

Those checks are meant for people that work!!! Those checks are probably going to citizens that allowed them to used their social security numbers - so that money is most likely staying here.

But the key word here is WORK - the only people receiving those checks are people that worked.

Yeah they worked, and they've been consistently sending a lg portion of their paychecks to Mexico anyway. Why not raise the tax on the undocumented and "encourage" them to spend more here?

He Dumbass;

IT SHOULD SAY "EVERY CITIZEN OF THE UNITES STATES OF AMERICA.

CITIZENS WHO HAVE PAID INTO THE COMMUNITY FOR THIRTY TO FIFTY PLUS MANY YEARS ARE NOT GETTING ANY...THEY ARE ON SOCIAL SECURITY.

We would be happy to spend all of it in this country on food and utilities; buying a new blanket or stove.

Gates and Trump and anyone making over 300k a year doesnt need it, but the seniors do need it now or will soon.

Just because they worked, does not mean they should be a part of any "bonus"/"gift"/"extra" like that.

Maybe that is the difference between being a U.S. citizen, compared with being an U.S. resident/illegal, living in the United States to work. They ARE getting paid for the work, and they can send that money to whoever they want, whenever they want.) I am not saying they shouldn't get paid for their work, or that they should be taxed differently on their paycheck.

I feel the general U.S. consensus opinion would be, "save the free gifts for legal, qualifying citizens -- and the non-residents continue to get paid to work, as usual, with nothing taken away.

I hope you can at least see where I can make such a distinction, even if you do not agree.

Yea a lot of Mexicano's send money home to their old mom's and pop's but if you were to visit many towns in Mexico nowadays you wouldn't find many people of working age, just old timers and American Baby Boomers, who are flooding many areas of Mexico. One never hears much about this reverse immigration but it's a reality. And funny thing is, the Mexicans welcome them, as many Americans donate essentials like ambulance's, medical supplies, and time spent supporting community efforts like child care, and youth programs in their new Mexican digs.

No, most Mexicans legal or not are spending the dinero here in the USA where they are raising families and helping the economy with low wage service jobs.

Sure there are some bums and freeloaders in every group but the vast majority of immigrants are hard working family people who are striving to be good Americans the same as immigrants that came before them.

PS: Interesting point that if someone was using your SS# you might get another couple of checks from Uncle Sam. I wonder how many of us will send the money back?

Seven years ago, on February 5, 2001, in an article entitled “American Retirees Flock to a ‘Paradise’ in Mexico,” the Washington Post reported that in the small Mexican town of Ajijic, where 7,500 Americans lived, there was a banner just past the Gringo Grill that in English read, “Welcome to your new home.” Bringing their culture to Mexico, the Americans in Ajijic were organizing gardening classes and Sunday morning walking clubs. The Lake Chapala Society had a library containing 20,000 books — in English — and an English-language theater. The Super Lake market carried rye bread and every type of Betty Crocker cake mix. Restaurant menus in town were changing from enchiladas to waffles for breakfast. Most of the people at Donas Donuts were Americans, discussing U.S. political issues, presumably in English.
Since then the "problem" has only intensified. That 2001 article reported that the U.S. Embassy estimated that 700,000 Americans were living in Mexico. Today, Wikipedia puts the number at one million.

Hey you anti-Zuma Jerks,
I bet your Headstone won't say how hard you worked to improve the lives of others.
Stop and ask yourself how many people will attend your funeral
because they admired all the work that you did.
If Zuma got paid for what he did,
He'd be worth a hell of a lot more than you.

Another idiotic comment from previous poster(s). Gee, how much harm are the alleged million gringos retired to Mexico and Central America causing? How much of a negative impact on those economies? Zero, estupido, in fact, they're cash cows.

Every gringo who goes down there goes with dollars to invest and spend, not to burden the people with their own and their kids' illiteracy and poverty. The average Mexican adult who comes here, hasn't even completed 9th grade.

Personally I'd never retire down there no matter how cheap it is -- with all that corruption, they rip off the gringos and no matter how much money they invest, can throw them out of their homes or in jail on trumped up charges. It's those governments trying to lure Americans and Canadians.

According to Sheriff Baca, 25% of the inmates in Calif. jails are those hard-working illegal mexicans that are "helping or economy".

I wonder how many of those illegal aliens "are helping our schools in the LAUSD".

The city and state is going bankrupt, thanks to all those "hard working" illegal aliens from mexico "helping our economy".

And the Americans moving to Mexico have to prove they have money and will not be a burden to Mexico's economy.

Most of the illegal mexicans who sneak across the border do not have money or an education and are a burden to our econony.

Santaigo and Don Quackers are just plain stupid, you can't compare the American legal immigrants to the uneduated illegal mexican immigrants.

Hey Rick Orlov, here's a story for the DailyNews:
Last Dec 15 you quoted Jack Weiss in a story about wearing masks and he said : I know the First Amendment better than anybody
unquote

hey Jack Weiss , if that's true, how come you didn't save the City 2.6 million in damages by avoiding the Hunt and Dowd case altogether. its a Section 1983 first amendment case in federal court. they've thrown it in your face for 2 years at city hall.
A judge officially settled the case today with carol Sobel and her clients, they've gone away, but Hunt and Dowd have been given the green light to go to a jury if the City won't settle the damages.

but wait, jack weiss knows the First Amendment better than anybody. well guess what, a blow-in kiwi without a law degree or any training or college filed the brief that kicked the City's ass.

so Jack weiss, you don't know shit, you're an idiot, and we can't wait for you to be city attorney.

Nice sales pitch for taking your bank accounts to retire or buy a second home in Mexico. Maybe someone should stick a big tomatillo and zapatas up the ass of any illegals who come here without depositing at least $150,000 US in their bank accounts here. Then they can do the same for you and your friends Santiago and Don Quixote, who can eat menudo and cucarachas out of their sombreros.

So Matt, how's that famous legal career going? If you're such a hot kiwi do-it-yourself lawyer, how come you whine at City Hall that you're so depressed you'd just as soon pass on?

I'd actually feel sorry for you if you weren't such a creep and phony, shaking down the city pretending you ever cared about selling your junk at Venice Beach. You're just the worst kind of illegal immigrant, worse than the Mexicans.

Good for Sam, deleting your "posts." Go away, far away.

first of all, God showed me the other side. its much nicer than this side.
not once was I depressed or mentioned depression. in fact I was very calm, and relaxed. death is the beginning of eternal life without the discrimination and the oppression.
I kicked the City because they capriciously abused the First Amendment, and that happens to be important to me.
that you don't care about it, and what happens here means you should f*ck off to Mexico.

and also, dummy, no matter how far away I go, this blog is only a mouse click away, fool.

people are so dumb on this blog.
mayor sam ought to be so proud of you.

1. There are 38M illegals here, according to Bear Stearns;
2. Most of them are using fake SSN's or STOLEN SSN's;
3. The IRS has NO way of AUDITING the SSN's to check for veracity;
4. The stimulus is for anyone earning a MINIMUM of $3000....that would probably include every illegal in the country;
5. Illegals ALSO receive EARNED INCOME TAX CREDITS of up to $2500
6. ILLEGALS CAN ALSO CLAIM UP TO NINE (9) DEPENDENTS; THAT MEANS THEY CAN GET $300/PER KID FROM THE STIMULUS PACKAGE;
7. ILLEGALS NEVER PAY TAXES...they declare a small amount on their ITIN's or Withholding payroll...AND THEN THEY BECOME PART OF THE 1 TRILLION $$$$ CASH ECONOMY!

8. WE are borrowing 180 BILLION from China to pay ILLEGALS from Mexico who will send the money HOME.

9. HOW DOES THIS BENEFIT OUR ECONOMY?????
