Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Monday

Poor Tennie Pierce. He's not happy with his $1.4 million dollar dog food settlement when just anyone with a brain agrees he didn't deserve a penny. Mayor Villaragiosa - time for you to bitch slap this "Big Dog" and veto it again.

Service is getting worse and they want to raise prices. Still, their executives are high paid, in fact higher than many of their peers. No, we're not talking about the airlines, but our good old friendly bloated Soviet style public utility, the DWP. How about if we sell this thing to public industry, invest the funds and use them as a permanent endowment for police? (Nah I know that makes too much sense).

Are the fires of Valley secession brewing again? At a meeting in Studio City last week a number of well know San Fernando Valley leaders discussed the issue privately. In addition to all the previous issues, a planned "anti-gang" parcel tax and a potential City personal income tax have these folks a bit riled.

Silver Lake Davine Blog makes a good point: the City can't seem to afford more police, pave streets or provide a full complement of basic services but they found the money for hundreds of fancy new parking meters.

Its hard enough to find good facilities for community groups in the Valley; now the City wants to sell off a former library building in Van Nuys. Must be some developers that want the city owned property? Let's take a look shall we?

Former Mayor and fellow RINO politician Richard Riordan has endorsed Rudy Giuliani for President. However Mayor Dick doesn't think California's "solid right wing" Republicans will go for the moderate GOP candidate and former New York Mayor.

Minneapolis will makeover the airport bathroom stalls where Senator Larry Craig and other men allegedly cruise for penis. The construction will apparently make such activities less doable. By the way Republican Craig was arrested simply for tapping his feet and still didn't get any; in San Francisco what Craig was looking for can apparently be done out on the street.

Presidential candidate John Edwards is a liberal Democrat (to put it mildly) so he will get a pass on racist statements he made recently. The former Senator said that most young African American men will soon either be in prison or dead. If even John McCain said this in the same context as Edwards he'd have to be holding a press conference to announce his withdrawal tomorrow.

Too ad LA Slimes doesn't have the balls to report the facts on Father Gang Banging Boyle. Everyone knows his gang bangers are still active and he protects them at all costs. He's an asshole and the community wants him far away from their neighborhoods. Gang bangers make minimum wage at Homeboy so guess what? They're still dealing dope, tagging and doing drive bys and Father Gang Banger makes excuses for them. How can a non profit make money in these businesses. Homeboy is one of the first gang programs Laura Chick needs to audit.' Heard he's no longer a priest.

.......Eight years after Homeboy Bakery burned down, the business that gave former gang members a job and a chance to break from their past, will reopen Tuesday.

Blogs are beneficial in that they can expose mistakes,mis-statements, and/or lies by City officials.

In this case, consider this...past, historical DOT traffic data is not kept/stored by the City, for urban planning purposes. "Oh my, Oh my", says City Officials. Yet the truth is this... this data is still available for use since it was provided for free to Universities and private traffic companies. The traffic data is NOT LOST, and can be acquired at any time from them.

TITLE: L.A. doesn't save data on traffic growth

City officials said they don't have traffic counts for some of the city's busiest intersections — and can't say how much congestion has increased over the years
Information gathered by the city's vast signal system is kept for only a few days, limiting the city in its long-term planning.

Los Angeles' traffic signal system is the envy of traffic planners around the world, recording millions of cars each year as they pass over sensors embedded in city streets.

The ruination of Elephant Hill will be voted into acceptance tomorrow at the City Council Mtg. City Attorney says it wasn't their business in the first place. The Huizar last protest was a sham.

From Agenda--> Recommendation for Council action:
NOTE and FILE consideration of the City Engineer’s intended actions to: (1) Complete the remaining
ministerial actions of issuing a B-Permit for work specified in the conditions for both Tract (No. 35022)
and Parcel (No. AA-2005-0849-PMLA) maps; (2) Process the Resolution of Acceptance for the
dedication of land for the Pullman Street realignment adopted by the City Council on September 28,
2005; (3) Accept the final parcel map for recordation; and (4) Issue all other ministerial permits
associated with the development of the Pueblo Avenue Subdivision (Elephant Hill). The City Attorney
has advised that, pursuant to Charter Section 245 (d)(8), consideration of this matter is exempt from
Council review, inasmuch as this matter is subject to appeal, and an appeal to Council has been filed
under Public Resources Code 21151(c).

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen (removes hat and bows low with flourish):

(Looks at compass) Yes, I would say there is some discontent brewing in the Valley O’Enchantment. And I would wager that it has to do with several things one of which is the bone that the former Mayor threw the tribes in said VOE called Neighbourhood Councils. Now I ask you, what good does a tune-up do if the whole system isn’t worth a tinkers damne? If perhaps the Clowncilpersons actually allowed the NC’s to actually have some power of referendum or perhaps LISTENED to what they had to say regardless of how nimby-squimby it may be then the natives might not be so restless, savvy? (Looks at compass again and eyes squall line on horizon) Yes, there is some discontent brewing. (Gives crew order to raise sails for hard weather helm) But let’s not talk about that. Let’s talk about something else, shall we?

Last evening we pirates quietly drove past the abode of the soon-to-be-Mrs. V and tucked in just down the street. (Whispers confidentially) I just LOVE what she’s done to the house…just a shade of pink with the scarlet trim ‘round the sash and door. It screams “No Boys Allowed.” (Clears throat) As I was saying, one of our Five had alerted us that a visit from Professor Spot of the Red Spot Institute Of Political Thinking was going to be stopping by for a visit. (Looks at watch and waits) Alas, Professor Spot did not show, but we did, however, enjoy sitting ‘round the outdoor fireplace in the evening and chatting while sipping and savouring the cheeses and crackers that our hostess and her husband had made available. (Calls out to the Five) Good show, madame! Your taste in cheeses and wines is excellent (kisses tips of fingers and gives salute).

And what did we chat about? This and that. And of course the proposed high school (or lack thereof) to be built in Taylor Yard. It appears that the most bought-and-paid-for elected officials are rather keen on sitting on their fingers and reclining on their thumbs on this one, while a certain developer who drops more than a dime makes his plans to build riverfront condos. (Looks aghast) Riverfront condos? (Smiles) Excellent idea, for all we pirates have to do is sail upriver and knock upon your front door, savvy?

Oh, and before I forget….would the sot in the wine coloured Volvo with the Stuart Waldman For Assembly Sticker on the back be a little more careful in traversing the intersection of Grand and Wilshire and a little less interested in talking on the telephone? That Volvo looks like it’s leased. And where there’s a lease, there is a loss of cash. Just ask the taxpayers who pay for someone’s fleet of 26 Crown Victorias.

Captain Jack, how's this for a beta-test of my new batcomputer "captain jack translator" since google doesn't have one.

Valley secession movement is brewing, again. For several reasons, including dissatisfaction with the amount of power/input with the Neighborhood Council system “bone” former Mayor Hahn threw to the Valley to keep them happy.

But why bother trying to “fix the system” (of NCs) if the whole system isn’t worth the paper the (no-quorum, again) agendas are printed on. (Council doesn't WANT to listen.)

If only the Councilmembers would learn a trick from the “customer satisfaction” lesson book, that if people at least THINK they are part of the process (and they at least feel there are some minor victories, and the hope of a credible shot at a major victory), they might not be forced to be a constant thorn in your side. (Keep ‘em just happy enough that they don’t uprise and over-throw yo’ azz.)

So it looks like secession talk is brewing, again; and pirates who may be involved in, or who deal with NCs should “batton the hatches” and strap in the bassoon chair. (or whatever you call that thing.)

But enough of that, for now…because last night some of the crew drove past a former news reporters house and parked down the street. Had some work done, recently (on the house).

Red Spot was supposed to stop by to say hello, but he didn’t make it.

Perhaps the house is located just down the street from someone else’s home whom ZD once met at Time Warner. (But maybe not.)

But whoever the “pirate” side-mate was who held the wine and cheese campfire, they talked about upcoming strategy.

But especially, Taylor Yard as it related to a High School, or not. (Sounds like they want one, but it ain’t happening fast enough. And it appears to the Captain that the reason the school isn’t being built is because the most bitch-ass sell out elected officials In human history already bought and sold the community to Mr. Big Money Riverfront Condo Developer who already greased all the right shady-as-f*ck palms. (That I hope end up in handcuffs.)

Taylor Yard is another one of those political hot beds that might scold yo azz, come election time.

And finally, it looks like the wrong person has “crossed the pirates path”, not on the seas, but on the streets. (And like ZD’s apple pie, the Captain doesn’t mind letting you know you are being watched, or in this case followed.

And he’s no fan of the mayor “fleet” of 26 Crown Victorias. (ZUMA DOGG FOR MAYOR!!! I CAN RUN THE CITY WITH ONLY 24 Crown Victorias!!!)

PS: oops...perhaps the drive by/park by was a separate event from the wine and cheese party.

Thanks for the good read...Pierce--clever scam, that, 1st AME should put Serious bite on him & maybe IRS will take the rest, lol--DWP...developer-loving Fraud Squad antics....

Sometimes King of the Fraud Squad makes me so angry I'd like to spit, but of course, we, the little peeps, don't get In-person Garcetti sightings, so it would be dumb, to spit in the wind....
