"Westside White Guy" on the Mayors "troubles"

Here he sits, former editor at the "OLD GREY HAG ON SPRING STREET". Now with retirement setting in, he is relegated in posting the latest personal changes in the "fish wrap community".

Sad that the only observers of his postings come from fellow scribes who bought property in the enclave that is now covered in his blog "OBSERVING WEST LA LIFE AND HIS TIMES".

Editorial comments aside, I feel compelled to post on the "WWG" article in the Los Angeles Magazine on our Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa. especially in light of his comments referring to Daily News writer Tony Castro.

In the past, "POSTER RODERICK" has been an unabashed supporter of all things "ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA INC.", no copyrights intended. Can we all remember his missives against Daily News reporter Tony Castro after his myth-breaking deconstruction of the "PARKE SKELTON, ACE SMITH" created facade, that was the basis of his now "biography of record" on the man, "Tony Villar"?

Do we all remember the response of that "objective" scribe ?? Lets just say that Roderick went negative. Later, after the Mayor was in a more fortright feeling. The truth was telling against the facade that the "WWG" presented.

I leave any comments to you in the "bloggersphere". I leave you with the link to "WWG" lastest on Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

Do you

HONESTLY

think anyone on the westside "enclave" you refer to is jealous of you in CD14, which even the Latinos can't stop comparing to TJ? That why you're so bitter against the world?

And you you've got another attack on Roderick, who could have a shit? As could anyone else?

A few words about the misfit, and how that dogg is representative of Jill Stewart's downfall and lousy judgment and control issues, which no real journalist would tolerate, so you are obsessing?

Pissed because he mentioned today that Judith Miller is has turned in her resignation too, so that all of the top reporters are gone from the scene of their shame?

Or is it true what people say, that any prospect of your political career went down with Herzberg?

One thing for sure, keeping company with dogg, dowd, hunt will get you downer and downer, lower and lower, until you are so mad at the world you'll be rolling around in coffee you spilled and begged for in the first place, and then suing US.

Stop yourself now. Check into that 12-step program you seem to be so familiar with.

I got your back red spot, these left wing idiots and west-side gay caballleros are more interested in what live performance is opening at the Chandelor pavillion, than the real news.

The other so called L.A. "news" blogs have news about David Beckham and his bimbo wife, that is the Los Angeles "news" Roderick is covering.

Not all of us are as shallow as the west-side gay caballeros who consider Roderick a reporter.

I don't think Roderick has moved his fat ass to a city council meeting in years, but I'm sure he has driven and attended a few play promotions when free food is available.

Just look at his fat ass, you can tell he has not put any leather to the streets to cover a real news story.

Mayor Sam is the ONLY real news blog in L.A.

OMG, you really thing ZD brings you the news? More like the archives. Hell, everything he "digs up" has been in the papers or on the Net for weeks, months, sometimes years.

Yes, Higby used to be pretty current with good inside baseball, but his obsession against all things AV and in favor of all things Huggy has been transparent.

Worse, like it has been said recently, the undertow of ZD has taken this blog to places Kevin Roderick wouldn't be caught dead. The lunatics from CD 14 have started running the asylum, especially the old Nick Pacheco blogging team, who went down as hard as Hertzberg when their beloved abuser, Lauro Nick got his ass handed to him by Antonio, then almost immediately by Steve Cooley.

This blog is really slipping, big time. Higby needs to wipe out all the faux stuff, keep Mailander, who has something good to say most of the time, and write more stuff himself, about anybody except AV or Huggy, two sujects about which he cannot control himself.

Let's get this place back to where it came from, the third and fourth floors and intelligent, thoughtful, new inside info.

Interesting Antonio showed up to the Emmy's last night with his daughter. He's not being seen at public events with Mirthala. Guess he knows the firestorm is still out there.

Kevin did a hit piece on the Mayor in July Los angeles Magazine. So I think he's become somewhat balanced. And why do the losers who post here always think that just because there are thousands if not millions of people in this city who can't stand Antonio cause he's been a Nothing Mayor place the blame on CD14? As if no one else feels the disgust they do.

Yes, those liberal suck-ups are disgusting. Hoping for Villaraigosa as the next "Great Brown Hope" was as bad as the "emperor with no clothes". He's the man with no charisma, yes, the man who liberal writers claim as "shining with charisma". It's all smoke and mirrors. The only reason people are talking about Mirthala is for tabloid news, or else to lament their fallen "god". Running around doing photo ops does not constitute success.

Is it difficult to overhaul Downtown Los Angeles, as in redevelopment? Not really... just let the developers run amuk, which is happening. Dangling greenbacks have enabled profits for all, ie. developers and politicians. Is that a success? Frankly, I'd have to say, yes it is. Still, it is resulting in a slash and burn strategy. Throw the misfits on SkidRow out to the hinderlands and suck-in the yuppies and artsy crowd (let's see how long they last there... nobody is going to want to raise a family in Downtown LA, as soon as they grow up). Crime will eventually return to it's glorious heyday.

The Metro-lines certainly resemble successes. But, really now, do they. They do not solve transportation issues, they are a "dog and pony show" solution. Public transportation, when requiring multiple transfers, will not work in Los Angeles. Los Angeles is just too big, too inefficient (it will NEVER be as successful as the Japanese subways), and too dangerous (do I need to provide evidence here?). Metro lines will successully serve a few. Buses will be allocated to serve the many (and very badly serve them). Cars will be in gridlock. And Carpooling, which is the obvious greater solution, is too un-sexy.

Where is the crime problem? Where is the public school problem? Where is the traffic problem? The solutions are failures. QED

The city is still in political correctness mode, as always. It is ruining the city. Mr. Spot, you can sit in your comfy chair and read the entertainment news and tabloid blogs, as much as you want, but know the the dirty, unwashed masses (ie. formerly called "middle class") are not happy.

The sad thing about the article (and the recent chatter amongst LA’s political elite) is what it omits when discussing the trials and tribulations of our current mayor. What about the victorious electorate’s commitment to clean and open government?

I think some of us remember that Villar was charged with the task of cleaning up City Hall. Supposedly, he had done his homework before entering office and a new day would be born! So what about:

1. Having a standing City Commissioner indicted on RICO charges?
2. Firing a whistleblower for uncovering corrupt contract bidding practices?
3. Demanding a private hearing on his personal campaign finance violations and then settling for reduced fines?
4. Refusing to divulge e-mails that are requested by the press?
5. Stomping on the efforts of Neighborhood Councils in their efforts to represent their constituents?
6. Forcing “fee” increases through Council in order to avoid public vote?
7. Pushing a major development for Universal while they contemplated discipline for his girlfriend?

Roderick and his brethren have conveniently lost their passion for corruption investigations just as their “favorite” has become exposed…….how convenient.

While the lobbyists and the political elite who hire them must temper their public criticism while they have business pending in chambers, at the very least watchdogs should be prepared to monitor contributions to any of his many campaign funds that are made from this point on. Unions, Developers, and just plain old Millionaires should be questioned as to what was the appeal? Was it the philandering? Was it the lying? Was it attempts to circumvent the law? Was it the lack of accomplishment? Was it the good press he’s been giving us lately? Or is it strictly “pay to play”?

While Trujillo and the boys continue to badmouth all of his potential competitors in order to again disgust the general public and set new historical low voter turnouts (what Mike, $150 per vote in 2009?) keep in mind that the political machines that still prop up this “naked” emperor should become similarly exposed.

Can we add Martin Ludlow and their behavior at the hospital after the death of Miguel Contreras ?? I for one vote for Antonio based upon the premise that clean government would return to the third floor.
