SONCHA AND BABY VILLAR WATCH, DAY 9 "SPINNING LETTER TO THE EDITOR"

All things in life are "INTERCONNECTED" and "INTERDEPENDENT". Some of you who remember your science classes before they became avocation classes for a "WARMING WORLD", should know these terms. In the wacky lab that is the study of Los Angeles Political Science. Lets see how these two terms come into play.

First you have a Mayor, who with his willing allies at the "OLD GREY HAG ON SPRING STREET" and his staffers in the "THIRD FLOOR SPIN CHAMBER" and some "LITTLE ROOM IN A PUEBLO CALL SERENO", are in need of "ISSUES OF DISTRACTION" to keep enquiring eyes or scribes away from the damage goods that is the "POLITICO FORMERLY KNOWN AS ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA", tony villar.

Then comes along a "TARD OF A CITY ATTORNEY" and his wife, who can't get his daily "PRIORITIES OF LIFE" straight. Thus you have the diversion you need.

Today in the "LA ANTONIA TIMES", they have five letters on the "ROCKY AFFAIR" and this one little gem from the "CHILD FORMERLY KNOWN AS ZELDA".

Re "Private life may cost mayor publicity," June 16

Shame on The Times for printing a snipe full of anonymous quotes from alleged "friends" on L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's personal life. No name-withholding "friends" who have a "fear of embarrassing" the Mayor and his wife would have even called you back (as I didn't)on this non story.

Nearly half of all the state's elected officials (and I know them all) have gone through a breakup or divorce, and it's difficult enough to get through without daily blogs (posing as news) desperately searching for a way to keep the issue alive. Leave the guy alone and give us some news, political analysis and fact. How about returning to journalism?

STATE SENATOR SHEILA KUEHL
(D) Santa Monica

Now it is easy to see how the "POLITICAL ELITES" and their willing allies are "INTERDEPENDENT" on one another to steer "SPIN" away from a "POLITICAL TRAIN WRECK" that is the life of the "POLITICO FORMERLY KNOWN AS ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA", tony villar.

But also this shows how these "ELITES" are "INTERCONNECTED" in "SPINNING" their deceit on the populance.

STAY TUNE FOR AFTERNOON UPDATES ON "SONCHA, BABY VILLAR WATCH, DAY 9".

REMINDER TO THE 3rd FLOOR SPIN CHAMBER AND Others "STAY ON TOPIC!!"

AFTERNOON UPDATE !!

"JOHN and KEN are right out of the gate with their "SONCHA/BABY" talk. Reporter made allusions to seeing a picture of the "ALLEGED SONCHA" on a certain website. Wonder which one ????? Stay Tune !!!

The bigger they are, the harder the fall.

Sycophantic no-talents like Jack Weiss and Sheila Kuehl are falling over themselves to kiss Antonio's ass publicly.

But only a few things can happen from this:

(1) People will realize that this scandal prevents Antonio from EVER rising above Mayor.

Antonio: Sorry. Sayonara Sacramento.

(2) Female voters will abandon him in droves. Especially female Hispanic voters.

(3) People will realize this Vertigo Complex of the Mayor's is a sick psychological need to emulate Clinton and Newsom. All pols need to be loved. AV needs to prove his base loves him as much as those guy's do.

(4) Scandal hunters will start looking into OTHER things. Mayor V will no longer get a free ride.

His comments to a group of Hispanic property owners, like, "it's our turn to make some money in this city, the whites have been making it long enough."

His checkered past.

His serial pattern of abusing good women.

Will all come out.

(5) The pendulum in this country might swing the other way. Just as hemlines rise and fall, so do people's tolerance of this crap.

Just like the country turned to Reagan to give us pride again and strong leadership, the country may turn to leaders who won't embarass them.

So, please Sheila, keep praising Antonio publicly. Stay on that sinking ship until it is long gone.

Even the rats will eventually drown.

I once saw Sheila Kuehl berate a waitress for asking her if she wanted a drink.

Kuehl yelled, "I'm a recovering alcoholic," as if the waitress should have known that.

Are these people delusional? I mean, sure, this was at a political event, but who the hell knows/cares who Sheila Kuehl is? Much less the details of her sad life?

Antonio lies and gets to keep his job.

Rocky lies about his car (and more).

Weiss lies about his constituents and his own accomplishments to save his job.

Alberto Gonzales lies about just about everything.

Bush lies about WMD, the war, etc.

Dems do it. Reps do it. It is non-partisan BS.

The problem is that there is NO ACCOUNTABILITY. Our society is so conditioned to reality-TV smack-downs that politics has become a contest of who can lie the loudest the most convincingly and the most often.

It is less about doing the right thing than doing the self-serving, politically expedient thing.

The pols keep raising money from the leeches that feed from the government trough. Money buys media which buys votes. Votes get people elected and the cycle starts again. MSM needs to cozy up to pols to get their next story, so "free" media generally supports those in power.

I don't know how to fix it, but it seems like sweeping out the current batch sends a good message to the next batch. Maybe they will be on good behavior long enough to do some good.

When the City knocks on your door, and claims "Eminent Domain" on your home and business because you didn't agree to comply...or you couldn't comply to their "demands", I hope everyone recites back to "Building & Safety" all the latest details on the mayor's love life.

And when the CRA risks all your money and uses all your public land for the Ritz-Carlton condos, and Mandarin Five Star Hotels, and public park to be developed by PRIVATE developers (instead of everyday housing and amenities and services)...I hope you have gotten to the bottom of the Rocky vs Antonio "spin battle in the media".

I know this is gonna hurt Antonio's career, so it is relevant to some extent...but how about some of the other things going on in the city.

I am still in shock over the fact that this two-bit Cholo EVER got elected in the first place. The bar is sooo low in CA that the worms are crawling under it.

I have my doubts as to whether or not LA will ever be the same again. Certainly, the infrastructure cannot be restored; the slums are dominating the landscape; and the eco-system is precarious; and the illiterate, itinerant, third world Mestizos are the modern day plague.

The crooked, corrupt Mexican mafia that rules this city have to be EXTERMINATED, along with all the sycophant NO BODYS like Sheila what's her name and Jack the Ripper.

Tony Villar looks like a Mexican head waiter...greasy, oily, unctuous and obsequious! All you have to do is grease his outstretched palm and you will get the best table in the joint!

LA is in a race to the sewer...in fact it's already there! Who gives a sh*t about Tony's anchor baby...He's just another gangbanger Mestizo who beats up women, womanizes, gets drunk, and kicks out anchor babies for us to support.

Tony Villar is a first-class pr*ck and he has all the illegitimate anchor brats to prove it! Get him out of our sight!

"leave the guy alone" says State Senator Sheila Kuehl. Wouldn't all politicians love that. If marriage is not to be discussed by the press, then maybe politicians should refrain from using family in campaign mailers. If at election time politicians want to use photos of a happy family when maybe its not a happy family, the press and the electorate have the right to know. Having said that, yes it would be great if the Times began to focus more on our elected officials policies and how they conduct themselves in public doing their official business.

Get your colorful expressions down before you jump in . . .

"The bar is sooo low in CA that the worms are crawling under it."

You probably meant their crawling OVER it, right? Worms are crawling under all of us, as we type. They're crawling under the pretty much everything "high" or "low".

And, yeah, I "understood" what you meant --- THIS time. But what they probably didn't explain in your LAUSD honor classes is that when people aren't paid to try and understand you (like your teachers), they can lose interest fast when you make then work to understand.

2 p.m. That come's under the "I won't dignify your speculation with an answer heading.

That's what the spinners have been taught lately. A strongly worded rebuttal to rumors, even if false, just sets the rumor mongers aflame with new games of word parsing.

"Well, he said THIS rumor (or part of the rumor) wasn't true but he didn't say THAT one wasn't (if he ever even heard THAT one), and so the other part MUST be true." And then you start all over in a neverending spiral. "He said, 'I AM not, but he didn't say he NEVER was. . . ".

How many politicians have stated emphatically that they're not going to run for a position only to have every new interviewer ask the question again, and again, and again. Before long you have voters at the ballot box looking for his name

(Okay, bad example, AV told his 300,000 CD14 constituents in 2003 that he absolutely would NOT run for Mayor in 2005... very bad example).

You see, the problem with Sheila Kuehl saying "keep a politician's private life out of the newspaper" is that Sheila Kuehl advertises hers all over the place. For example, "I am the first lesbian to do X..."

From the Los Angeles Times
Delgadillo had staff do errands for his family
City attorney says they used personal time. But sources said it often was during business hours.
By Matt Lait
Times Staff Writer

10:15 PM PDT, June 20, 2007

Los Angeles City Atty. Rocky Delgadillo has enlisted members of his office staff to run personal errands and baby-sit his two young children, including taking them to museums and other local attractions.

In response to inquiries from The Times, Delgadillo confirmed through a spokesman Wednesday that he relied on his staff to attend to some family and personal needs, but he declined to give many details.

"On occasion, city staff members — some of whom the city attorney has known for many years — have watched the Delgadillos' children on their own personal time," according to a statement released by Delgadillo's office. "They were personally paid by the Delgadillos, but sometimes declined payment.

"On rare occasions, city staff have run errands for the city attorney on their lunch breaks or other personal time," the statement read.

Sources with firsthand knowledge of the arrangement, however, said staffers often attended to the city attorney's personal needs and children during normal business hours.

Nick Velasquez, a spokesman for Delgadillo, said the favors sometimes coincided with business hours, but the employees used personal time.

He said the baby-sitting generally occurred at Delgadillo's home, but that on occasion his children — two boys ages 6 and 3 — were brought to the office, as other employees have done in the past. He declined to identify which employees baby-sat for the family.

Delgadillo's admission follows disclosures that he periodically allowed his wife Michelle to drive his city-owned GMC Yukon — a possible violation of city rules.

Michelle Delgadillo, 36, had a suspended driver's license at times when she drove the city vehicle. In 2004, she damaged the SUV by backing into a pole in a parking lot near her doctor's office. The city attorney had the Yukon repaired at city expense.

On Monday, after some government accountability advocates accused Delgadillo of misusing public funds, he said at a news conference that he had decided to reimburse the city $1,222 for the job.

"It's the right thing to do," he said.

Michelle Delgadillo also had a previous run-in with the law for driving without a valid driver's license, car registration or insurance in 1998. The Times revealed this week that she had an outstanding arrest warrant in connection with that case. On Wednesday, she went to court and pleaded no contest to driving without a valid driver's license, was sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation and fined $431.

Delgadillo — city attorney since 2001 and a former deputy mayor in the Richard Riordan administration — declined to be directly interviewed about the allegations that he had used city staff for personal reasons.

Section 49.5.5 of the city's Municipal Code, titled "Misuse of City Position or Resources," states that "no city official ... shall use his or her position or prospective position, or the power of authority of his or her office or position, in any manner intended to induce or coerce any person to provide, directly or indirectly, anything of value which shall accrue to the private advantage, benefit, or economic gain, of the city official or employee, or of any other person."

The code clarifies that it applies to advantages, benefits or gains that are "distinct from that enjoyed by members of the public without regard to official status or not resulting naturally from lawful and proper performance of duties."

The rule has been in effect since Delgadillo took office in 2001 and is included in the 17-page Ethics Handbook for City Officials that elected officials are provided upon taking office.

The Times interviewed seven former or current city employees who said they saw the city attorney use staff for personal reasons. The sources, however, spoke only on the condition that they not be identified for fear of reprisal.

One former employee said Delgadillo and his wife would call upon secretaries and other support staff to watch his children at City Hall.

"They would sit in an office and read to them or watch them watch TV," the ex-employee said.

Two sources said a male employee, Robbie Britton, had been called upon to do handyman chores at the Delgadillos' house such as put together a trampoline or move weights. Britton also has picked up Delgadillo's dry-cleaning, the sources said. Britton could not be reached for comment.

In response to those allegations, Velasquez said the weights were a birthday gift from the city attorney's staff and "Mr. Britton delivered this staff gift to his house. Any other errands performed by Mr. Britton were on his personal time."

Los Angeles City Ethics Commissioner Bill Boyarsky, a former Times city editor, said that even if employees did such work on their own time it was wrong of Delgadillo to use them. He said employees might feel coerced into volunteering out of fear that the boss might retaliate.

"When you're a public official you should not use your cars, your staff or any public resources for personal reasons," he said. "It's really outrageous. Even in private life that's not right."
