Why Does City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo Have A "Director of Economic Development"?
Just wondering? Seems like the kind of thing you hire and bring to meetings with you if you are running for higher office. I WOULD say Council, but Rocky thinks that's beneath him. So what higher office is Rocky campaigning for around town, with his Economic Development Director, Rosemary Anaya.
She used to be the COO for the Downtown Center Business Improvement District. The Los Angeles Downtown Center Business Improvement District (DCBID) is a coalition of over 400 property owners committed to enhancing the quality of life in Downtown Los Angeles. The organization helps the 65-block central business district achieve its full potential as a great place to live, work and play.
So this means he's courting business, riiiiiiiiiiight? Kinda strange? Is that a conflict of interest? What the hell is going on??? Since when do City Attorneys DEVELOP things? Jack Weiss, can ZD be YOUR "Economic Development Director"? I have an idea: Maybe Herb Wesson's Housing & Economic Committee can hire Tamar Galatzan as "Housing Procecutor".

Ah, the perfect antidote to MAV for all the Villaraigosa-haters on MayorSam: Mayor Rocky! The spectre of a Latino even slicker and more sold-out than MAV should make your blood run cold.
Oh, and Walter Moore hasn't got a prayer against either of them.

And yet, with a budget of nothing, I got more votes than Reyes, Greuel, LaBonge, Cardenas, Alarcon, Parks, Perry, Wesson and Huizar.

Zuma, what are the qualifications of the "Economic Development Director?" Sounds like another Jack Keyser.

Walter,
Posted an update on the thread that you probably have seen by now. Rosemary Anaya is her name.

Speaking of City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo. I see HE is representing a CM, himself in a civil matter. The CM is named as a "defendant" (along with the City, sad to say.) I'm wondering if this is common knowledge, or if ZD has a "WORLD EXCLUSIVE".
I'm new to the game so I don't know how big a deal it is, for Rocky to defend CMs in lawsuits by individuals.
If the name does not emerge, I guess the word ain't out yet. But at the same time, if ZD knows, that means others must know, too.
But I don't think this is the "Lucille" Cpt Jack mentioned, because this lawsuit isn't for spying.

Walter,
Villaraigosa has Huizar in his back pocket. Huizar is his fetch and catch it boy....

Zuma, do you mean the Real Estate and Economic Development Practice Group, which services the Mayor and Council on RE and ED matter, or something else?

Very clearly, Walter is going to be an LA household name come 1 year from now.
I was VERY surprised at how well he ended up in the election, coming from nowhere and with virtually no money.
Several years of providing sound, sober, and often funny, commentaries are making him more and more recognizable figure.
A bit more savvy about a campaign, he will show up MUCH higher in the polls.
Have you ever heard of a guy named BILL ROSENDAHL? Guess what? After a few years of public commentaries and good points, he ended up on City Council.
And just MAYBE people will start to recognize that the dirtballs we have in City leadership now are NOT the only choice, and certainly not the best choice.

Gimme a break.
It's pretty obvious the Polloraigosa's hacks are pissed at Delgadodo for taking the Mayor on over his budget, which cuts money for prosecutors at the same time gangs are destroying our communities.
Now they're trying to dump trash like this on Deladodo to see what sticks.
This is their response and their effort to stir things up before Delgadodo can make his case to Council for a restoration of funds for his prosecutors.
Don't fall this crap, people.
It's got the stink of a Matt "this trip's gonna' be more focused...honest" Szabo political hit written all over it.
They're gonna' try and defend Polloraigosa's gutting of Delgadodo's anti-gang programs by saying "look...he can just fire non-gangs people and use that money for gang prosecutors."
Problem is, it doesn't work that way...and the midget's people hope we're too stupid to figure that out.
They're wrong.

joeseph,
posted the info regarding your question on the main thread of this section. took the info off google. here's something on Rocky, y'all probably already knew:
Prior to joining the mayor's office, Delgadillo was Director of Business Development for Rebuild LA, a nonprofit formed to bring investment into Los Angeles neighborhoods ravaged during the 1992 civil unrest, and served as a senior attorney at O'Melveny & Myers.
Before his election, Delgadillo was the Deputy Mayor of Los Angeles for Economic Development, where he worked to attract new jobs for the neighborhoods that needed them the most. He created an efficient, neighborhood-friendly approach to business development and helped bring more than $20 billion in private investment to the city in four years.

WHAT ARE YOU REFERRING TO? If you mean the story, in general, that Rocky has a Eco-develop director. That was another coincidence that keeps happening the more and more I keep talking to people and bumping into them. I will even go as far to say, Rocky told me himself, in a way. Cause ZD's "ZAP" network keeps getting bigger -- so I have so many flys on the wall, I think I must know every f-ing fly in the city. KEEP BUZZING AROUND ZD'S EARS. EVEN THOUGH IT"S DRIVING ME CRAZY WITH WAAAAAAAAAAY TOO MUCH INFO...It's fun!

All the information in the world is useless unless you have the background and experience to process it.
You don't.
So, why do you waste your time, and ours, writing it al down, sometimes inaccurately, sometimes just half accurate?
Go get an honest job, or an honest occupation, and quit mucking around where you don't even know what you are doing.
You are a joke.

Captain Jack Sparrow,
Have a pirate contact me via email, or phone immediatley. I need to know if we are working on two different items, or the same item. The pin is pulled on mine, and I have to get rid of the grenade, before it explodes, but I wanna throw it in the right direction. send a pirate for immediate summit...the grenade is about to explode -- only question is...is it the same grenade as Lucille's, or are there TWO grenades out there.

Economic Development Officer, perfect, now what there's gonna be those homeless from downtown to be all over Los Angeles, great job, what Economic Development happened in downtown is known to all, crime rate skyrocketed... prepare for a major rocket launch, now its going to take the whole of Los Angeles.
You voters there vote more for these fellas and have them turn this whole place into a complete mess, what are you voters crying about, you did it, now live with it till the end...

3:22 pm: Negative criticism. tsk, tsk. What should ZD if something is not on the up-and-up? Doing nothing lets things continue as a "snafu" ("situation normal, all f---ed up")as far as the public is concerned. Why let the bums off the hook?
If ZD did nothing, I suppose a lot of people would be relieved, most of whom see public dollars regularly coming their way.
Keep at it, ZD.
