yeh, great work

what are you still living in 1944?

82 yr old women with handguns

she ought to be arrested and charged. anyone else in LA would.

see, if I was running for Mayor I'd advise residents to take the vehicle registration number and call the police.
the guy already offered to leave.
she actually broke the law. that's not self defense anymore.
she's maliciously damaging property and endangering life, while this guy is trespassing, but then offers to leave which is good.

now had he threatened her in some way, different story, but her own evidence is self incriminating.
he offered to leave, she said no you won't.
she's the aggressor.

Good Girl!
Years ago a Los Angeles policeman came to my home as it had been broken into. I said I was going to get a gun. He said "If you have a gun, and intend to use it, kill him; that way there is only one person to question as to what happened. The other guy has no chance to lie." I have never forgotten that and live by it. I have also remember being told by a policeman; if you are afraid of your life; dont tell 911 "I have a problem" Scream "Officer down", Officer Down" and scream the address and hang up. Thats how seniors have to fight now. LAPD may not come for me but they will come for one of their own.

wow, there's two frightful admissions.

a policeman said 'just kill...'

and you 'live by it'

you have a duty to protect your life from imminent threat, by using lethal force, but not to protect property. say someone's started up your car and backing out your driveway, can you shoot and kill them? hell no.
shoot out the tires? hell no.
its just a car. if they drive it at you to run you down, then shoot to kill by all means, otherwise, no.
I shouldn't have to explain that.

an officer just saying 'shoot to kill so theres no evidence' is disturbing.

If someone is in my home, without being, invited, late at night, some one I dont recognize and I FEAR that I am going to be harmed, I will shoot. Yes, I will ask 'Who are you and Why are you here" but If I dont get the right answer.....

This woman is nuts.

Venus Ramey, 82, confronted a man on her farm in south-central Kentucky last week after she saw her dog run into a storage building where thieves had previously made off with old farm equipment.

Ramey said the man told her he would leave. "I said, 'Oh, no you won't,' and I shot their tires so they couldn't leave," Ramey said.

The guy could have made a wrong turn.

Matt Dowd keeps reminding us why he plays guitar on the beach and sells incense instead of practicing law.

He ought to stick to the entertainment and panhandling, along with his buddy, ZD.

The guy trespassed on her property and she had every right to detain him and await the police. Shooting out a tire is not shooting a person.

He was commiting the felony of illegal entry, and on her property, she could have shot him as well.

She gets my vote, Walter.

And Matt gets my vote for bad legal advice, but, what the hell, he's ZD's lawyer as well, and look how great they are doing.

yeh, ur right.

now tell the police, and the civil rights attorneys, and all the locals, to stop congratulating me on getting the Venice law into the federal courts and under judicial review.

that's how bad the ordinance is, you said it, even a guitar playing incense vending legend like me can see through it.

8:3am That has to be the most irresponsible comment someone can make and the biggest piece of bullshit I have ever heard. There are 2 sides to every story and I highly doubt this is what actually occurred.

Sadly, when an officer does go down it's life threatening and how fast officers get to the location to aide them is crucial. In Rampart there was an officer down call and the officer was surrounded with gang bangers from 18th Street. If other officers hadn't responded so quickly that officer would have been killed. In Montecito Heights officers were ambushed by a suspect with an AK47 and before officers even got out of their cars the suspect blasted them. Thankfully the officers weren't killed but one had his had almost severed. IF officers hadn't responded to help those officers would have been killed. So lady, you are wrong and if any officer is killed because of your irresponsible advice its on your head.

Police gets paid to respond to any call. The woman would not be responsible if the cop got hurt because he was doing it in defense of the person who was being attacked. They know when they get an "office Down" call that they have guns drawn, backup, etc. They are prepared or should be. The man atatcking the womanprobably doesnt have an AK7, nor is there 18 men in her house....just one punk.

Legally, if you go onto someone's property then they ask you to leave and you DON'T leave or start to leave, that is trespassing. I think the old lady was in the wrong. If I'd done that, I'd be in jail. She should have taken the license plate then called the cops

April 22, 2007 4:08 PM

We think the lady, 82 years of age, was in the right. One doesn't know what the trespasser is thinking, unless they happen to be Matt Dowd with a clouded crystal ball. The lady was defending her property.

If Matt Dowd were in the middle of a desert in the summertime and had his truck stolen by someone, he would last about as long as a pioneer in a covered wagon without water. That was why horse stealing was considered a capital offense in 19th Century America... and we think it should be a capital offense today to steal a motor vehicle (Anti-Citizens' Limp-wristed Union notwithstanding)!

We would much rather she shot the SOB to death... that would be one less thief to worry about.
