ZUMA DOGG WEEKEND UPDATE (04/21/07)

***** SUNDAY UPDATE ******

GO TO THE COMMENTS SECTION OF THIS THREAD FOR SOME POLITICAL PROGNOSTICATION SPARKED BY KEVIN DE LEON'S "PRIVATE" MEETING FRIDAY NIGHT OVER THE $400 STATE PARKS BOND. [aka: Predicting Broad's pick for Mayor '09.]

MORE TO COME ON THESE STORIES AND MORE...

* Zuma Dogg Invades Assemblyman Kevin De Leon's $400 million park bond money "PRIVATE" meeting at a city park location. (There's a good reason why they tried to tell me it was a "private meeting", hoping I would walk away.) It was all the "non-profit" organization schills that front for the politicians to funnel the bond money into the non-profits, they buy the land for use as a community park. ONLY ONE PROBLEM, Y'ALL...They tag it with one of those shady "sunset clauses", and hold on to the land till the sun sets, then they build whatever the F*CK they want on it. And that ain't never a park, y'all!

Meanwhile, I was denied public comment, because the lady in red, running the meeting, who told me it was a private meeting, until I told her no meeting with a State Assembly member being held in a public building, is a private meeting -- so please have you "volunteer" stop blocking the door, and let me in. He finally moved (oh, he wasn't security, just a big-shot volunteer, who also got to decide (in his own mind) who could talk to AM De Leon and who couldn't.

Well ZD didn't need your permission, Mr. Volunteer Man and Lady in Red, cause guess what? When I was lurking around De Leon after, in hopes of sniping a question for this blog, he says, "Zuma Dogg!!! (Shakes my hand) And I say, "Oh, you know me?" (I was humble as hell, at that moment, cause I wouldn't figure he would know who I was.) And he says, "ZUMA DOGG...You're famous!" And gives me the coolest, "hip hop" handshake-pound. SO THEN, that broke the ice, and we got to break it down. I'll post his comments and plans for the $400 milliion in State Bond money earmarked for parks throughout the State.

[CLICK READ MORE FOR MORE WEEKEND UPDATE ON ZINE'S NC DEMAND TO PLANNING OVER NC PARTICIPATION, DELTA RIVER ARTICLE IN LA TIMES, LAPD SAYS, "City Attorney's office putting them in a bad spot" (over ZD tshirt ban) and Dogdger's executive not too happy that Garcetti made him wait over three hours, only to get bumped.]

* Zuma Dogg reported on the problems with the Delta River last month. Yesterday, the LA Times wrote about it. I'm gonna post a compilation of the two stories, now that Delta River is back in the mix. From what ZD has heard, it'll just be some band-aid mitigation, that doesn't solve the problem, but will allow the water to contiue to flow.

* Councilmember Dennis Zine claims to have been bamboozled by the lack of Neighboorhood Council participation with the Planning Committee regarding the new Warner Center area "Workforce Housing" (Affordable Housing for workers in the area), to replace a swap meet. Zine says he was under the understanding that local NC was included in the public input process. Planning Committee representive said, "No". Then some other guy said the Planning Committee guy was just covering his ass. So CM Zine pulled the three of them to the side, and let them have it, and make it quite clear, that from here on in, "ALL development planning in the Warner Center area MUST be sent through the ringer. NC MUST be included." (AND HE KNEW I WAS THERE AS A WITNESS, so I can at least verify as a witness that he said this to the three parties. Seargant at arms even moved the pow-wow from the bleachers, off to the side (so maybe it came off on camera, too.)

SO MY QUESTION IS...WHY NOT DISTRICT WIDE -- AND CITY WIDE? But congrats media fave Dennis Zine for at least getting the ball rolling on a "Workforce Project" (where infrastruture upgrades will be made to accomadate this small-sized project.

* Thanks to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa for his "Marble and Cardboard" reference that ZD jacked for HIS "State of the City" speech today at City Hall. (Man, that sounds WAY worse than anything I would have come up with.)

* President Garcetti and Council: You should know that bigshot from the Dodgers (pictured in Thursday's LAzy Times) who showed up to present testimony said, "I don't even care anymore at this point" (After about a few hours of waiting.)

Then, by the time they got to the agenda item (after THREE hours of presentations, then all the other agenda items, the meeting was running so late; after he waited all that time, LaBong didn't call him anyway, as a time-saving measure.

HOWEVER, no time saving on THE BROWN ACT'S "PUBLIC COMMENT, TOMMY BOY. So, ZD took to the podium, and delivered the presentation on ways to mitigate traffic problems for Dodgers Stadium. Did it sound familiar, Tom? Ask Mr. Dodger Guy how ZD did? But you already know, y'all! HOOOOODY HOOOOOOOOO! (Catch the Sunday replay or check the Council website.) That's O.K., Tom, you don't have to thank me. Just clean up all that spilled paint off the street -- we have an anti-graffitii campaign going on in the City. And, "Say What Again!"

* LAPD says LA City Attorney's Office, "is putting them in a bad spot" over the continued request for enforcement over jewlery, incense, shea butter and Zuma Dogg shirts. Sgt of LAPD Pacific Division says he has seen the Federal Courts preliminary findings, and sees this thing being overturned then LAPD is open to massive lawsuits for wrongful/unlawful arrest. And they wish the City Attorney's office would stop grinding Linda Luck's axe for her. If she doesn't like the cultural diversity Venice Beach brings, tell her to move to the Santa Monica Mountains. And City Attorney's office..stop putting LAPD in a "bad spot" and opening up the City to additional legal challenges, just cause you don't wanna look like you listened to community input and made a minor adjustment, so as to be Federally complaint.

* Am I worked up for nothing, or can Downtown Los Angeles NOT even be able to handle a quorum's worth of average rainfall? When ZD steped onto the DOT "Dash" bus it was "misting"...when I walked OUT of the meeting, it was raining. NOTHING MORE THAN AVERAGE RAINFALL. However, in the six hour that ensued, the City's infratructure (sewers and drainage) was clogeed and HUGE puddles flooded the streets. Pedestrians were either stranded, or forced to get soaked to the ankels, or higher. However, this was just at the intersections, so pedesrians were forced to walk out halfway into the street, stopping busses and traffic. Man, it's a good thing we didn't get the Olympics, or any new businesses, except for the one's the City develops for themselves.

NOW GO TRY AND HIJACK A $400 million bond for State Parks and hand it over to a list of "non-profits" you practically create yourselves, then they buy the land for the park, but -- put in a sunset clause on the who deal, so the land ends up being used for something else once the sunsets. (AND NEXT TIME DON'T BLOCK THE DOOR AND SAY IT'S A PRIVATE MEETING.) And Kevin, nice meeting you, bro! I better be nice to you, bro. At the rate these "Antonio Machine" muppets are biting the dust (leader of the empire included)...you'll be running this City in no time. Start being nice to Richard. He's in line, next...NOT Fabian. OTR, D!

AND TONY -- GOTTA FIX THE SEWAGE SO THE CITY DOESN'T FLOOD WITH A QUORUMS WORTH OF RAIN.

Man, you are such a starfucker it is embarassing.

De Leon is a cool dude who is already in the leadership in Sacramento. But your stupid, as usual, unknowledgeable advice to him to look to someone else rather than Fabian, again shows you how little you know.

Kevin DeLeon and Fabian Nunez grew up as best buds in a little suburb of San Diego. They lived around the corner from each other. They are joined at the hip.

You never grew up.

ZD,
Perhaps if you applied the "read more" format to your postings, there would be less complaints from the readers.

REGARDING: LACK OF "READ MORE" FEATURE ON THIS THREAD:

As U can C, this thread consists of multiple stories. So rather than posting five stories, separately, It's all in one -- and that's an efficient move. If you would like, I can take each element of the thread and post them as separate threads in the future, then it will be 5 ZD threads in a row, instead of just one.

MEANWHILE, I have also sent a email to Mayor Sam saying I do not like the use of the "Read More" on his HOTSHEETS because since it is a variety thread, the whole thing is a "read more" thread. Read More is good for single issue threads.

I AM AWARE OF THE READ MORE FEATURE, I LIKE THE WAY IT MAKES THE BLOG LOOK ASTHETICALLY , and I place it at the appropriate place on my threads now -- but occasionally, on multiple issue threads, I'll go for ONE longer thread -- than FIVE shorter ones.

3:40am,

FIRST OF ALL, why are you getting all worked up about the opinions of ZD at 3:40 in the morning? (That has to be some kind of warning sign.)

But I would like to reply to your comment, "Your (off-the-mark) advice to him -- to look to someone else rather than Fabian, again shows you how little you know.

SUN ZUmadogg says..."I was advising him from a "political/career" position -- not a "personal buddy/Fred & Barney" point of view.

If Kevin is joined to Fabian at the hip, that means his career may not soar as high as he might otherwise be able to. See, Fabian had ONE big job to accomplish, but he got an "F" for "Failing" to sucker the California court system over AB 1381.

And Alarcon has the higher media visibility as CM, and is ALSO an Antonio cast member, and think Broad/Riordan be steamrolling Alarcon into the mayors office, when Antonio is forced to run for Governor (cause there's no way he can win Mayor of Los Angeles anymore.

So yeah, maybe DeLeon's freindship with Nucklhead Nunez will hold back his poltical career.
So, thanks for tipping me to THAT weakness. I'll exploit it, as needed.

Alarcon could never be elected to any position outside of his district. That you think otherwise shows how really naive yuo are about elective politics.

He pisses everyone off and has few friends in elective office. In the Senate, he was never near the leadership positions, despite his long tenure. Nor has he ever been in the leadership of the City Council.

If you want to be in legislative leadership, you have to raise a lot of money and help those in districts where they are not safe and need money to incur their gratitude.

Alarcon cannot raise that kind of money because he helps no one.

You are a political imbecile, and constantly demonstrate that fact to all of us that know what is going on.

Stick to the begging, clowning and gibberish. You're better at that.

5:31pm,

Seriously, I appreciate the history of Richard.

But here's something ZD factors into the equation, that I am intersted in your feedback.

Something I believe to be true, after observing only one short year is this: Everything goes out the window when the Broad/Riordan machine decided to back you.

So here's the question...is Richard being Antonio's lapdog, until Tony leaves office, and it is time to elect a new mayor? So if Broad/Riordan run Antonio -- and Antonio runs Alarcon (lapdog) -- does that mean Alarcon is next in line for the Broad/Riordan political steamroll machine?

NOW -- THERE'S SOMETHING I WOULD BE INTERSTED IN HAVING YOU DISCOUNT/EXPLAIN AWAY...because I'm kinda opetating under that premise....but if I'm obiously wrong/misread that one -- please let me know.

And after AB 1381, please don't say Fabian anymore.

Eli and Dick like winners; Alarcon is not a winner.

They will most likely back Laura Chick or Wendy Greuel in the special election to replace Antonio if he gets elected Governor in four years.

For now, he's a shoo in for re-election. His favorable/unfavorable numbers in his weakest area, (South Central) are an amazing 84/16. I doubt any credible candidate will oppose him.

But Governor is another story. Jerry Brown is formidable because most people have forgotten what an asshole he was as Governor.

That's all way to far out to figure. But, term limits will be extended and Fabian will be there another six years or so, so Kevin is wise to stick with him.

Fabian does not live in the City of Los Angeles.

CAN SOMEONE HELP CLARIFY:

I found two (2) different bios of Kevin de Leon and the district is described differently. Which one is accurate. Cause if you are trying to fight for your share of $400 million for your "park poor" areas (as he calls them), there is a differnece:

a) Assemblyman Kevin de León was elected to serve the 45th Assembly District in November of 2006. The district includes East Hollywood, Echo Park, Elysian Valley, Mt. Washington, Lincoln Heights and portions of Los Angeles.

The 45th District includes the following neighborhoods: Angelino Heights, Ascot Hills, Atwater Village, Boyle Heights, Chinatown, Cypress Park, East Hollywood, East Los Angeles, Echo Park, El Sereno, Elysian Valley, Glassell Park, Hermon , Highland Park, Hollywood, Lincoln Heights, Montecito Heights, Monterey Hills, Mt. Washington, Silver Lake, Solano Canyon, Temple-Beaudry, Temple-Beverly, University Hills.

[Nucklehead didn't change the districts ALREADY, did he?]

5:31pm, 7:26pm,

Your comments don't fall on dead eyes...I checked into your political analysis with my magic deck of tarot cards. Here's some thoughts that popped into my empty head when I took of my ski cap, and put on my "guru turban".

Broad/Riordan backed one-time mayoral election loser, Antonio Whatshisfaceagrossa. The Mission: find a puppet who could get the school takeover curveball blown past voters and the courts.

That was the deal with the devil:

Broad: Hi Tony, my names Eli Broad. I'll grease all the wheels the make you the next mayor of L.A. All YOU have to do, is hand us the $20 billion in school construction budget money.

Lil' Tony: Sure Uncle Eli, no problem. I can cut shady deals and make empty promises, as good as the next guy.

So Antonio put Nucklehead Nunez on the case. But it WAS "Mission Impossible", cause it was "Mission Unconstitutional" -- and even though you can fool voters (but they didn't even NEED to, cause they didn't put it to a vote of the people, as required for something of this impact) -- but they couldn't fool the Courts.

Zuma Dogg was a "fly on the wall" the day Nunez had to break the bad news to Antonio that the rest of the politicians and organizations in the State weren't gonna had the kid's construction budget, milk-money over on a silver platter. Nunez was basically saying, "Sorry Tony...no dice. No can do."

We'll when you make a deal with the devil (or when young annikan makes a deal with the emporer of the sith, you gotta get it done. So Antonio skywalker (who already had the "darth vader helmet operation" (Broad paid to get him into office), can't just go back and say, "Sorry, Eli...couldn't do it.)

So Tony starts yelling into his cellphone at Nunez (with the Tony Robbin's speech)..."Get back in there; do whatever you have to doi; make wahtever pronmises you have to make; cut in wholever you have to cut in...BUT KEEP IT MOVING FORWARD.

PLUS, it was probably the most use of the term, "bro" ever spoken by an elected official over an Assembly Bill regarding the school system.

And in the Viagraosa administration, when the "bro's" start flying...y'all better recognize and get in there and give you AB 1381 the "steve austin" surgery it needs, to carry on. (or the "frankenstein" operation, as julie korenstien affectionatley refers to her little dead monster.)

NOW WITH THAT LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY OUT OF THE WAY:

Villar blew AB 1381 (the mission Broad sent him to complete). So who will Broad back, next time ('09).

To the person who said, "...or Greuel." We'll you are either purposefully spinning, or just really bad at being a political guru.

Regarding Broad backing Chick. (ZD says, "No". Although she works at City Hall, she's still too ethical to make the lies and shady deals you need to make to be Mayor. She won't be able to bring herself to showing up for the "Darth Vader helmet operation". (Try Congress or Senate or something a little less "gutter", come election season.

ALARCON: We'll gee, he's from the same camp as Villararigosa, so why would Eli ever back HIM, if Villar is already the main muppet.

First of all, Tony blew AB 1381, so he's in a bad light. Secondly, if Prop. R is overturned, Alarcon will be termed out in two (2) years, and he'll be like Richard Gere in "Officer & Gentelman" ("I got no where else to go...I got no where else to go!!!!)

So at that point, you say, "F*CK it, gotta make the move...and you run for Mayor, AGAINST Antonio, anyway -- cause now you can no longer wait in line another two (2), or four (4) years (depending on whether Villar runs for Governor, or just mayor again).

So then, as a political strategist, you say, "Well, Gee...if the Broad machine backs Antonio -- Alarcon won't be able to get anything off the ground.

HOWEVER -- by then, Antonio could be so damaged, ZD might even be able to beat him as a "write in" candidate. Or Walter might be able to beat him, even without being allowed to attend the debates.

So Eli (who don't want no problems with his $2 billion Grand Ave and other projects underway), so he could finance Antonio AND Alarcon, and see who emerges, early on (or see if Antonio sinks/unelectable by then) -- and Broad can place Alarcon into the mayor's office.

I know you think Alarcon is the shadiest, worst, slimebag of them all: So what. When has THAT ever mattered. In my opinion, it just says, "Oh no...he's perfect."

And regarding Nunez: Alarcon is a notch higher up anyway in the ladder.

Welp, that's ZD's "wake and bake, political take".

To quote my good friend Bill O'Reilly, "What say you."

You are smoking dope. Even if the Supreme Court doesn't overturn the lower courts, Antonio can get control of the LAUSD by electing his candidates. He probably will this time, but if not, next time.

And, Broad doesn't need LAUSD's money, he's already worth 2 Billion himself. He cares about the kids.

And, Alarcon cannot get elected dogcather city wide.

The Mayor after Antonio is Laura, Wendy, Fabian or a dark horse, maybe Arnold.

But it will never, never be Richard Alarcon. He has no friends.

And, Antonio will sail into his second term. You are masturbating about him losing; ain't gonna happen.

April 22, 2007 2:15 PM

Blogger Zuma Dogg said:

2:15pm,

Thanks! Caught it all. My only re-buttal would be, it's a little too early to say, "sail" into his second term. I'm not saying he won't win -- but damn, bro...project things out, at the rate they are going, and I don't think it will be a "sail" -- ALTHOUGH, he could pull off an acheivement that "COULD" make it a sail.

But it doesn't look as though he is learning from his mistakes/make the necessary changes/and doesn't WANT to change...so it's just gonna be more of the same.

If you get a "D" on all your midterms, what are the chances you will pull off the "A" you need on the final? (if you were able to get an "A" in the first place, you would have.) And Tony needs an "A" this year, OTR, D. But that's hard to pull off when you have shady, stupid tutors.

April 22, 2007 2:59 PM

Anonymous Anonymous said:

You are a fool. A "D" from you, maybe, but an "A+" from the voting public.

His favorable/unfavorable numbers are the best in California. Any credible opponent will not take him on.

The election is a year + away, and he is the most popular politician in California.

And you are a rank amateur. Give it up on predicting and stick with clowning, whining and begging.

The best way to review that video is to look at them now.

They are inside, looking out, and they are not changing the system as much as it has changed them.

The Democrats are bouyed up by the rising tide, which lifts all boats; when it drops, they will lose their grip on California, unless the illegals are transformed into legal and can vote.

Ergo, all the machinations.
