Coming Attractions: The REAL State Of The City Address

By Walter Moore, Candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles, MooreIsBetter.com.

Yours truly is perusing the Mayor's proposed budget, and preparing a video response to the Mayor's so-called "State of the City" address.

The proposed budget documents contain a variety of interesting numbers the Mayor omitted from his address, and seem to have been drafted by a committee without the benefits of having one person read the entire document. Example: the same budget item for one department is stated as three different figures on three different pages. Shall we take the average?

Anyway, consider this your open thread for Saturday, and by all means, review the budget documents for yourselves. It shouldn't take you long, as they span just 2015 pages.

Delgadillo is really pissed Antonio cut $2 million from his budget. AV sent out his gang reduction plan citywide to community members and guess who is on there to get MORE MONEY?? HOMEBOY with Father Gang Banger Boyle. This corrupt organization needs to be audited. Any police officer who works with these thugs will tell you Boyle's gang bangers are still active in the community. Boyle using money to help them in court, hires their family members, etc.

And the embezzle Janice Hahn wants more action on the gang crisis. Excuse me but these losers have had Connie Rice's report since back in Dec. and have done NOTHING NOTHIN NOTHING and won't because they are lazy.

City Council members say gang crisis warrants faster action
Rick Orlov Daily News

....A lack of significant new funding to launch Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's anti-gang program drew complaints and concern Friday as the plan received its first official review.
The plan, unveiled during the mayor's State of the City address, allocates $168 million for intervention and prevention programs, but just $16.8 million of that is new funding.

At a meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee on Gangs and Youth, City Council members and others said the gang crisis warrants faster action.

"I think we know what a lot of the problems are and where they exist," said Councilwoman Janice Hahn, who represents the Harbor Gateway area. "We shouldn't be wasting time."

The state of Venice Beach?

Our attorneys say "Go straight back out on the beach. Federal law supercedes municipal. Nominal utility is unconstitutional. "

and then he mentioned something about 'substantial damages'

6:23, this was exactly the point of my post a few days ago; Rocky is the only one doing something about gangs, so Antonio hamstrings him to settle a political score, and gets cheered for doing something about gangs -- when all he's done is talk!

Anyone else sick of these political soap opera re-runs?

looks like New York is pulling the 'million trees' bamboozle now

Problem is, their numbers don't add up. They say a million trees by 2017. Then they say, "we'll plant 23,000 a year till 2017.
That's 10 x 23,000 which equals only 230,000.
less than a quarter of a million.
so private residents have to plant the other 770,000? great work Bloomberg.
It says he's making a speech to present 127 proposals on the environment? 127? how long is that speech??
quick, where's that Walter Moore video?

At yesterday's Congress of neighborhood councils there were more non profits then NC reps. Antonio didn't want to look bad so he had all the non profits show up to fill seats. There were far less then media reports. I will scream if Janice "EMBEZZLE" Hahn or Antonio talks about the Harbor Gateway killing one more time. There are hundreds of kids getting killed on the Eastside and South LA and no one mentions them. Hahn is still talking about wanting a parcel tax for more gang programs. FIX THE CORRUPT ONE IN PLACE NOW THAT GET MONEY$$$. Homeboy is a joke to all who know better its nothing more then a cover up for politicial corruption and supporting gang members. What are the LA reporters afraid of and why aren't they going after that story? Word is they threw Father Gang Banger Boyle out of the church. Ask any prosecutor how Father Gang Banger fails to testify against his hommies when he's been a witness to their crimes. He's been subpoeneaed and yet fails to show up in court. He thinks he's above the law. He's had Antonio, Connie Rice and others call the prosecutors pleading not to make him testify. Now that truly is corruption at the highest level.

I cut and pasted this from another thread because It shows the length the Mayor Beaneraigosa Cut-paste crew goes to skew information in regards to any accomplishments AV has done.

"I could swear there was a guy around here who tried to take over the School Board (will be complete in May)"

It is that kind of arrogance that has him in this position in the first place. All he had to do was simply go to the City voters to change that in the Charter and Simple, done!

Hell the Mayor of Fresno wanted to help him out in the process but the Mayor and his arrogance pushed him aside. So we all know what AB1381 is all about, Gentrification and Property Taxes this has NOTHING to do with Education.

"I thought there was someone around here who wants to build a subway to the sea (got federal legislation passed by Waxman -- advocates have tried for 26 years, he got it done in 2 months)"

Whoaaaaa! After Riordan sat on his ass for 8 years, Hahn was the one who got the ball rolling on it from 2002, and with Councilman LaBonge's spearheading and lobbying with and to the Westside Cities back in 2005 does any remember an MTA and City Council Motion that basically that told Henry Waxman, we will make an effort to study this and prove this to you. Riddle me, whose name is on that Motion? I see Tom LaBonge not Antonio R. Villaraigosa. Do your homework first before you make those claims!

"There was a guy around here who wants to build a billion dollar's worth of affordable housing to house less than five percent of the homeless. Instead, the homeless are camping on his front lawn saying he's done nothing. (fully funding the affordable housing trust fund two years in a row when Hahn never did, is HUGE)"

The reason why Hahn, couldn't the last two years, notice in 2001 and 2002 the turst was fully funded. But in 2003-05 there was a certain thing called, hmmmmm The county and state Raiding City Funds. (I wonder who was Assembly Speaker during the height of California's budget problems?) There was a Measure on the 2004 ballot that got emphatically approved by LA City voters to bring back those $$$ to the city instead of getting raided by the County. It's easy to fund something when you have $$$. Have you noticed between Hahn's budget and AV's budget that it went up SHARPLY by $700 Million Dollars. Now windfalls don't come in that large without some form of change.

"He wants a thousand more cops. How's that working. (they met this year's hiring goal and later this year the LAPD will more officers in its entire history)"

It's funny. Hahn was pushing the same exact thing, (hell Mayor Beaneraigosa even used Hahn's exact proposal) Villaraigosa/Weiss/Parks were the biggest roadblocks to this because of political egos.

"He campaigned on fixing the traffic problem. How's that working? (really? i thought he campaigned on education and corruption in city hall)"

What do you call the Subway to the Sea and remember this statement; 'If Hahn can't even repair potholes what good is he as mayor?'

Left-turn signals causing more accidents, Laura Chick-N-shit's audit showing the LADOT doesn't have a clue of what's going on and how to master plan. Hmmmmmm makes you think huh?

"Now he's talking about gangs. Watch how that works. (Since the initiatives have been spearheaded there has been a 2% drop in gang crime, and we have the lowest rate of crime since the Eisenhower administration)"

What initiatives, How come Connie Rice's audit saying that these programs aren't working?
