Absentee Mayor And Anti-Business City Council

Today's theme: the politics of travel.

The Mayor's always on a trip, and the City Council is urging visitors to boycott certain L.A. hotels.

We're probably all covering the same stories today, but if you would care for my take on our absentee Mayor and our anti-business City Council, click on over to the blog on my campaign website: MooreIsBetter.com.

I think it would be interesting to make a public records request to figure out just how many trips the Mayor and his entourage have taken using our funds, don't you?

If you're really a candidate for mayor, Walter, it's time to be more cautious with your language -- specifically, your hyperbole.

The Mayor is not "always" on a trip; that's demonstrably untrue.

Don't make untrue statements, at any level, or your campaign can't be taken seriously.

Just state the truth: Antonio travels a lot -- in your opinion, too much -- and you believe that's impacting his ability to lead the city and help solve its pressing problems.

(Much less revamp LAUSD!)

Of course they are not too busy to send out thousands if not millions of notices to businesses in order to collect the oppressive City Business license tax. A tax professional like myself has little time to deal with the stack of notices piling up on my desk from unsuspecting clients.

True to the tradition of the namesake of this blog, Sam Yorty, Mayor Villaraigosa continues his quest to re-establish Los Angeles as the only city with its own foreign policy.

He has traveled out of the city, out of the state and out of the country, likely more than any other mayor in the country, in past or present history. All in the name of city concerns, of course. Really?

No statistics are handy to support this particular comparison with other mayors, but I do perceive this is the case on a plain observation. It's just another opinion to add here.

Also note the entourage that invariably is included in the travels. Is all that necessary for the city? Maybe, I suppose, but what about “priorities” relating to police officer attrition and hiring, gangs, crime and illegal immigration impact and the well-being of the regular folks? Leave that for another day? Maybe for another administration.

Yes, it would be interesting to find out how much this trip is costing? who is paying? Not just for the mayor and his cast of thousands but also for the councilmembers and their staff... Do they travel in first class, or in economy class with the masses? do they stay in affordable hotels, or in the high-end, fancy properties????

Mayor Sam you gotta delete that long bullshit. We all know Antonio is a clown who jumps in front of the cameras taking credit for everyone's else hard work. He's done nothing, is nothing and will become nothing.

Not only has Villabozo and his minions raped this city by squandering our tax $$$ on his personal quest for emporer of the world, but he is sending out advance teams as though he was visiting royalty or the President of the USA! Even Hugo Chavez doesn't abuse his populous the way Senor Villabozo does!

Villabozo is just a cholo beaner with no clothes! And so is the city council.

This is the corrupt politics of Mexico coming to life in LA! This is exactly what the PRI party in Mexico has done to the economy of a country with tons of natural resources....run it into the ground!

Villabozo is a CRIMINAL and should be in prison for defrauding the taxpayers, collusion with developers, and total disregard for his fiduciary responsibility to the citizens of LA.

When is the recall going to begin??? Probably never...because the middle class is gone in this city. All that is left is the millions of illiterate peons from Mexico and the elites who are colluding with Villabozo!

It's criminal!!!!!

If you could put Villaraigosa in prison for defrauding taxpayers and for collusion with developers as mentioned above, there wouldn't be any others left in office. They all do it.

They can deny it, but they still do it. And they know it.
