Supreme Court To Villaraigosa: No Cutting In Line

The Mayor is going to have to go through the normal appeals process like everyone else regarding his school takeover plan -- you know, if he ever comes back to town.

Whatever.

Word on the street is that his campaign in the valley -- tamara glatzan is running circles around the incumbent.

i admit this -- wishing the mayor would lose.

But if he knows how to do one thing -- thats win campaigns.

There was a saying about former governor Davis that I find to be the same with MAV.

Davis wanted to be Governor but he did not want to govern.

Tony wants to be Mayor but he can not stop campaigning long enough to govern.

Results are clear in every area from crime to transportation.

Shut up and govern!

Thank God March is right around the corner. Campaign filing opens up for the next mayoral race.

Walter,

Did you hear that although the mayor is claiming it's ok for him to defend AB 1381 in court and try and take over the school board election by backing his own candidates, because he is using money he raised "privately", ZD wants to know: Is it improper or illegal for those private contributors to have major construction projects before the city for the mayor's apporval? Here's why the state constitution keeps LAUSD separately operated from City Hall...But the mayor doesn't want to live by the spirit of the constitution, as usual.

Hi, Zuma --

It is legal for developers to contribute to the campaigns of people who decide whether to give them tax breaks, subsidies and variances. Indeed, that is WHY the developers, their investment bankers, their lawyers, etc. all donate to the career politicians' campaigns. Result? The rest of us get screwed.

That dysfunctional co-dependence, moreover, is why, in my opinion, Villaraigosa is so eager to try to take control of the schools; it would increase by about $7 billion the amount of money he can throw around, which in turn means more money coming back to him for his campaign to become Hillary's VP, or governor, or whatever else he plans.

Unfortunately, L.A.'s potential voters are completely oblivious to local government -- and what a scam it is. Nor do the mainstream media explain the issues to voters, so there's no way they'll awaken from their political stupor unless someone like you, with your guerilla media skill, slaps them in the face, methaphorically speaking.

Umm...

A little note about your Mayor.

While he may endorse many -- he actually has only had a hand in 7 races where his operatives worked them.

3 of those 7 are the current school board races.

The other 4 his operatives won.

And those were...

Assemblywoman Cindy Montanez (Jimmy Blackman)

Assemblyman Kevin De Leon
(Herb Wesson Jr -- yes he worked for the Mayor)

School Board Member Monica Garcia
(Luis Sanchez)

City Councilman Jose Huizar
Luis Sanchez & Uli Sanchez)

PLus the 3 school board races he is running - that brings the real total to 7.

The Mayor endorses candidates all the time, like Montanez for Assembly it doesn't mean it's a campaign his inner circle operatives are doing for the Mayor.

Fantastic rebut by the Mayor.Let's see.
Monica's opponent self destructed by creating a false education resume (Cris)and losing UTLA support.
Kevin damm near lost a walk in the park (shit piles more money, Speakers' childhood friend- good for 90% of the endorsements and massive labor push at the end to save his ass.
Jose beat a badly wounded Pacheco and was pretty much Miguel's last shot and the newly minted Mayor's first shot at king making. you usually do win with ten times the money and troops.
