Pranks A Lot!
The whole dog-food-guy thing got me thinking about pranks.Most of you reading this are probably too young to remember, but, before lawyers ruined everything, there was a TV show called "Candid Camera." I gather it was like your Ashton Kusher "Punk'd" thing, except the pranks were played not on celebrities, but average people. It was hilarious.
Then there's April Fool's Day.

Obviously, pranks can go too far, sometimes. But on the spectrum of pranskterdom, two bites of dog food, in a nice red sauce, is relatively trivial.

Payola isn't (it appears to have some origins in Italian, but this is not factual), but "mordida" is. "La Mordida," translated from Spanish to English, means "The Bite." It is another word for "bribe."
I remember "Candid Camera" back in the '50s starring Allan Funt as the host with a live studio audience. Quite humorous; somewhat similar to the current program, "America's Funniest Home Videos," except that it featured stunts from everyday situations.
There was one featuring a talking trashcan on the sidewalk. If someone attempted to throw a bit of trash into the can and missed, the trashcan would snarl, "Don't you know it's against the law to litter?" The whole thing collapsed when some lady missed the trash can, the trashcan snarled the line at her, and she yelled right back, "I don't talk to trashcans!" and kept walking.

Well, folks this was a very long week and thanks to our idiot politicans Los Angeles was on the front page of most newspapers and national media talking about Tienne Pierce. It was embarrassing to get a call from a friend in New York asking what kind of morons are running our city. Am talk show hosts had a field day with our politicans and called them every name in the book and rightly so. Do I think they get it? HELL NO. They are too arrogant and stupid. Gweneth Paltrow said "the British are far more intelligent then Americans." Is she right? Just look at city hall. We have an ex-councilman who was caught doing coke and prostitution and he's still working for a councilman, his name is Mike Hernandez. WE have an ex-LAPD Chief who was so corrupt the FBI investigated his best friend who was money laundering and who Bernie promoted to Deputy Chief. Bernie was responsible for RAmpart scandal and now he's a councilman, then we have a Mayor who to all that know him personally wonder when the truth and all his baggage will finally come out. Yes, folks I think our politicans are a bunch of weenies just as John & Ken said.

The person who posted at 5:27 am this morning is pretty accurate in their assessment of the nationwide reaction regarding our rather "illuminating" city politicos. But far and away the dumbest are the voters of this city who keep reelecting these idiots for another term of office!
Someone once said that the art of politics is like unlicensed medicine: The practioner starts by looking for problems, finding them everywhere by misdiagnosing them, writing the wrong prescriptions, and applying the incorrect dosage.
That's the best characterization of our city's current poor crop of office holders.
In successive posts I will describe a select few individuals who currently hold office in our city government, and who should be unworthy of mentioning.
"The one whose name should never be uttered." - our current mayor:
Excelled in maintaining a GPA of 1.4 at the university level (that's a D- letter grade).
Displayed an above average ability to organize street thugs, an ability which served him well while disrupting university classes, and later as California Assembly Speaker.
Has perfected the subject of Rocket Science, taking personal credit for others' hard work.
Distinguished himself by pledging allegience to organizations who are dedicated to weakening and dissolving the American Dream (MECHA, ACLU).
Is legendary for living a Hollywood script re: school dropout takes control of parent school district.
Has been quoted in numerous publications and online journals; famous for such lines as, "We clean your toilets."
On one occasion, when confronted by reporters asking about unlicensed street vendors, replied, "They shouldn't have to pay [to comply with city ordinances] because they're poor people."
When will that creep Mahony be thrown into jail !

Considered the cheerleader of Los Angeles, a position which "the one whose name should never be uttered" attempted to usurp on his recent trip to China.
Counts among his constituents a whole population of gophers, squirrels, and snakes who reside in Griffith Park.
Was considered by many to be the most honest councilmember (first term), a reputation which has seriously been tarnished in his second term by his most recent Council voting record.
Bernard Parks: Council District 8.
Succeeded Mark Ridley-Thomas, career politician who served 10 years as councilman before his election to the State Assembly.
Former Police Chief with poorly-rated public relations efforts during his tenure. Bungled the investigation into the corruption scandal involving the anti-gang CRASH program; activities dating back to his term as head of LAPD Internal Affairs.
Forced to vote his constituents' (and his own) ethnicity regarding a certain $2.7 million settlement.
Is regarded as pro-business (a plus in my book), but has done little to correct a situation involving a furniture store in his district involving a city eminent domain proceeding against the former owner (a minus in my book).
Has not created any major programs or accomplishments for his district; is still in his first term of office (elected in 2003).
Time constraints prevent me from commenting upon other Councilmembers at this time, but they should not think they've been able to duck my critiques. Stay tuned for more on other threads.

You forgot to add because of Bitter Bernie's screw up with Rampart the city has paid out $70 million and then some in lawsuits and one of those gangbangers went on a coke binge in Vegas spending the money and committing a felony. Bernie refused to do anything because his daughter knew Raphael Perez and David Mack.
And people wonder why there are still whites and latinos who are racist. Let's see Tony Mohammed assaulted a police officer but no charges were filed because of political pressure from the blacks. A good Chief Bamattre was fired regardless of what you hear by a gutless mayor who didn't have the balls to do it himself. Bamattre brought in more minorities and women to the LAFD and did a damn good job with the fires. Because of a black crybaby firefighter who someone suggested could get millions if he sued for racism the White chief gets canned. Gutless mayor is said to be eyeing black chief's to appease blacks cause he has no balls to stand like a man. John Mack another racist decided the officer who was assaulted by Devin Brown should be punished and because of that clowncil awarded Devin's irresponsible mother $1.5 million. THEN PEOPLE WONDER WHY THERE ARE STILL RACISTS IN THIS CITY.

A 31-year Los Angeles Fire Department veteran, due to be named interim fire chief on Monday, is set to become the first African American to lead the department when Chief William Bamattre steps down next month.
Fire Marshal Douglas L. Barry will take over the troubled department after Bamattre's retirement on Jan. 1, City Hall sources said Sunday.

While rereading my posts, it occurred to me that I unintentionally left out one very important word: "online".
Thus, my original post (12-03 @ 10:49 am) should have read, "No public record online of university attendance." The preceding sentence surrounded in quotation marks should have followed each of those Councilmembers I identified as having "No public record..."
