Say what you like about Mayor Sam's Sister City, L.A.'s premier political mosh pit...They and their numerous anonymous commenters have been naming names, slamming candidates, sullying reputations, floating crazy ideas and bordering on libel for the better part of two years now. But through it all they've been loud, passionate and - most important - honest, which is why people seem to love them.
Oh, well, so much for that: Michael "Mayor Sam" Higby just announced he's going to start running content that was paid for by outsiders and may - or may not - disclose which posts are paid for - although he will not take pay to post about politics without disclosing it, he promises ...
