Mass Transit vs. Really Cool Cars

I vote for cars. Can we please acknowledge that our culture includes love of cars?

Okay, this posting really isn't political. We just got back from the car show. If you can go, go. It's very cool. If you can't, you can see photos of some beautiful cars over at my website. Enjoy.

Shown here is the new Hummer "First Responder" vehicle that the new Fire Chief will receive.

Sorry. I vote against huge, gas guzzlers and for energy efficient. That's why you're a Republican and I'm a Democrat. That is why you'll fight for oil and I won't.

People used to love cigarettes too. The culture has changed.

No. 1, I'm not a Republican.

No. 2, "huge gas guzzlers?" Most of the cars I photographed are mere V-8's, with nary a V-12 among them. Plus, the boxy little Honda -- I don't think it even has an engine. I think you Fred Flintstone it around town.

No. 3, I'm guessing you don't go out on a lot of dates by bus.

No. 4, don't give up on smokes. They could still make a come-back. After all, not only are they cool, but they pay tribute to our Native American cultures, which pioneered the use of Brother Tobacco. Thank goodness you can still smoke cigars in grocery stores and casinos!

P.S. Re "fighting for oil," you got that one wrong, too. I've advocated for immediate withdrawal from Iraq for months now, if not a year.

Did you see the beautiful LAPD Hummer in the Hollywood Parade? Now, that is gorgeous and I usually hate those cars that only get 8 miles per gallon. It was donated.

Walter, Mayor Sam your web site is acting screwing. When I click on the cartoon de juor nothing comes up. Just when I clicked on Pranks Alot same thing, nothing comes up.

This says it all:
Pathetic joke
12/02/2006 Re: "Council flip-flops on payoff" (Nov. 30):
Our former lousy police chief and current lousy Councilman Bernard Parks states, "You may not choose to be a racist. You may not want to be a racist. It's how it's perceived that was important to understand." That's right, Bernard, and perception is a choice. (Firefighter Tennie) Pierce chose to perceive it as bigotry because that choice could possibly supplement his retirement.

Current lousy Councilwoman Jan Perry states, "We can't decide what to do with a person's life based on what a talk show says." That's right, Jan, but, as an elected official representative of "We the people," you need to pay attention to the fact that 99 percent of the citizens of this city feel this payoff of $2.7 million is a pathetic joke. Wake up.

Left wing anti-car wackos who drive a prius yet live in huge homes that could easily house 20-30 people make me sick. If you and your Hollywood friends like to save the environment so much why don't all the celebrities in Malibu knock down 4 out of 5 homes in Malibu and build clustered condos with ocean views. This would allow the rest of the 5000 plus square foot homes to be knocked down and turned into bird sancturies for seagulls and butterflies. This would also reduce heat and air-conditioning energy usage and save the earth(????).

They all think that be recycling a soda can or driving a prius they can make up for the harm of flying in a private jet plane, then they all must be smoking some natural substances (not tobacco, it's evil).

What gall to say they are for the environment and then live this extravagant lifestyle.

I live in a small house 1100 square feet. Some of their bedrooms are bigger than my house.

I don't care if people are rich, but holier than thou celebrities (Streisand, Sheen, etc) make me sick.

Their lifestyle is so out of step with their beliefs can they sleep at night?

Yes, by telling each other how evil republicans are and going to therapist to get over their guilt.

what has it to do with Republican and Democrat when it comes to gas usage. Do Democrats ride a bicycle to work and dates just to save the fuel and environment?
