Mayoral "Control"?

Some of you have suggested that Villaraigosa can simply fire Cap'n Crunch.

He can't.

Having skimmed the actual text of the law myself, I concur with the L.A. Times's assessment: "The only obvious way for Villaraigosa to quickly dismiss Brewer would be to campaign to elect a new school board majority in March. Under the new legislation, scheduled to take effect Jan. 1, Villaraigosa could only veto the hiring and firing of a superintendent. The board would have to act first."

This is fairly hilarious, especially since, according to the paper, "[b]oth the board and Brewer are talking about a four-year contract."

So after all the proverbial sound and fury this summer, the Mayor gets "control" of three high schools and a few feeder schools.

Is there such a thing as "lobbying malpractice?"

I don't know why you post a story by LA Slimes??? This is why I like the Daily News. They will report the hard cold facts and this one may hurt our midget mayor. I agree he cut a deal.

Daily News....Antonio trade-off with Arnold? ....Villaraigosa, the Democrats' rising political star, sell out Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Angelides? Literally?

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's little-noticed appointment of Villaraigosa's sister to a $149,160-a-year judgeship on the Los Angeles County Superior Court has some Democratic Party loyalists accusing the mayor of a familial financial gain in what they say is his failure to aggressively support Angelides.

Mary Lou Villar, 52, the mayor's younger sister, who goes by Villaraigosa's original name, was appointed to the judgeship in April.

This was a brilliant move by a soon to be castrated board. Sort of a bull goring before having the knife put to him. They selected an enthusiastic, charismatic, articulate Black man for the job. What better person to steal some of Tony the Liar's limelight. Tony's got enthusiasm and charisma - just like a cheap bar whore - but he sure isn't articulate. And then to have the board vote in him in unanimously!

This guy has all the credentials to lead and the medals to back up these credentials. What did Tony the Liar have besides a lying but smart Jewish consultant and Mureulo's money? Tony is not the only show in town anymore Parke, what else do you have in that bag of tricks of yours? And then Brewer mispronounces Tony's name - I hope you realize that was the symbolic glove to the face challenge. How will Tony respond?

You missed Marlene's trump card:

The new superintendent is African-American -- so Antonio's strong suit ("I'm the first Latino...") has been neutralized.

Not only can't Antonio fire this superintendant, he's powerless even to oppose him.

The "race cards" are no longer lined up for AV; his coalition will be on shaky ground if he disrespects the new supe.

MEMO TO THE "LA ANTONIA TIMES"

LAUSD to "HIS POLLONESS", "CHALE!!"

"JOURNALIST BAQUET", please take a moment away from your "KOOL-AID" experimentation, notice how the "GREEN SHEET" has "PUNK" you again on a important local story. Daily News writer TONY CASTRO has a story on the judgeship awarded to "SISTER POLLONESS" A former Legal Aid lawyer, Mary Lou Villar is given a seat on Superior Court. Once again the "OLD GREY HAG ON SPRING STREET" is silence on a story of local concern. Along with P.R. guy SCRIBE HELFAND press releases from the "HIS POLLONESS DOES ASIA TOUR". It is no wonder why "Hundreds of Thousands" of readers have gone elsewhere for the news. BTW Scribe Helfand, can be given credit for enduring the horrific environmental conditions in the "PEOPLE PARADISE OF CHINA". Give him a few days at the "WRITE TO PLAY SPA" at the "BONEAVENTURE".
"THOUGHT TO PONDER"
one asspect of Admiral david Brewer appointment to the Superintendent job that is being overlook is his power to make contracts on negotiate labor contracts. "HIS POLLONESS" and "PUFF DUFFY" are the big losers here. "HIS POLLONESS" loses the power to steer contracts to businee interestes who could recipicate the finanicial favors in his rumor run for govenor. "PUFF DUFFY" and "UTLA POLITBURO" now will have to negotiate a new contract with someone not beholden to their interest. "HIS POLLONESS" and "PUFF DUFFY" are the big losers here.

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen (adjusting bow tie and cuff links):

Tonight I attend a fancy dress-ball given by some nice folks over on the west side of town. The topic of conversation? How a fellow sailor went from taking orders to giving orders, savvy?

The Admiral has the respect of both me and my crew. Why? Because conversations are short and most debates are settled with two words, "Yes sir."

It is very hard to control someone when you have to answer "Yes sir". It is equally hard to go from being surrounded by the yes men to having to be one. It's called a mutiny. And since the Mayor is away, that's what we've got. All we need to do is close ranks and keep slashing the testicles of those whose tenticles would bind our hands. Bugger those with testicles.

Speaking of testicles; pardon me, I meant tenticles, someone that Alex Padilla has endorsed recently paid several thousand dollars for campaign legal services to the same law firm that helped the City put that Rotten R on the ballot. Now why was that? Methinks it's because he's a yes man. Can you say yes ma'am? I knew you could.

PADILLA, DELEON, CEDILLO, NUNEZ AND ROMERO-ON-THE-PLANK WALK IN NOVEMBER. The rest walk in March. The Admiral can help...his ship has bigger balls.

It would be nice to see Brewer on tv more and not our midget mayor. We're tired of his hamming it up and taking credit for everyone's else work. Say what you want about Hahn but you never saw him intruding on other's press conf. I haven't seen one press conf. without midget Antonio's big ears, dyed hair, polished teeth, wrinkled like a raisin face since he's been in office. Where the hell did all the balls in this city go? Where are the "real" men because all we have are clowncil men like Zine, Huizar, Wesson, Padilla, Cardenas, Smith, LaBonge, Rosendahl, Reyes who have lost their guts since Antonio got into office.

The Vice-Admiral is the best thing to happen to LA since sliced bread.

I can hardly wait for the fireworks to begin when AV gets back. Too bad he has to come back!!! The karma is so great when he is out of the country! Why doesn't he just go back to Mexico where he belongs????

It's going to be hilarious to see the Mexican midget standing next to the burly Admiral!!! Wow!!! Happy days are here again!!!!!
