The bill had some important ammendments before getting out of approps. It wasn't that clear cut.

Perata said it would have gotten out anyway, but no guarantees on the floor.

There are so many improper things attatchd to A.B. 1381, i don't thik the senate will want to pass it, because it'll get thier hands all dirty when all thecivil uits come flying in to Federal Court...WHO WILL NEVER ALLOW HIS TO HAPPEN.

Here's how to fix it...

Recent mendent from August 8th says,"School Superintendant MAY appoint an Inspector General (to investigate for "fraud, waste and abuse").

ARE YOU CRAZIER THAN ZUMA DOGG???

Change it to "School Super MUST appoint an Inspector General", so since the power of so many, is in the hands of so few, there can at least be some accountability, besides Zuma Dogg watching things.

(It's like saying, "Hey community...come put your money in my bank...but we don't have to havelocks, gaurds, security cameras..and the police can't investigate -- cause we chose SHALL NOT hire police & security, since it ain't a must. So, we'll be sure, as the owners of te bank..to rob the vault of all the money...cause there ain't no Inspector General to investigate anyone.

So, that's a starting point. I DO think it culd be good fr the school reform if the city was running the whole thing, for one reason only if noting else: It does improve efficiency by breaking down barriers/departmental beuracracy between school and city. (Can move the ship in one direction.)

BUT, this first pitch/first offer is way too expensive a proce to pay. and is so unethical, it's mproper and some say illegal...so they jad to cut in so many people to m it through...the intnt got all mesed up...and the poor mayor ain't gonna be able to achieve his atual goal of helping LAUSD...(A GREAT CARRER move).

So, yes, I think Mayor V. TRUY wants to help turn around LAUSD , in his heart and for his career...Only problem...this first offer is way too fiscally expensive, cause it's so unethical, it makes it a big civil liabilty...and it's all spn out of control. makethechanges ZD said, right away...so we can get REAL reform steamrolling ahead!!!

Zuma Dogg for LA City Council '07
Mayor '09 (Unless we impeach someone first.)

I'm still amazed the District and it's generously-paid consultants got so out flanked.

The District ought to ask for it's money back from Darry Sragrow and Glenn Gritzner (the two political consultants that failed). And, while the district is at it, it ought to fire it's Attorney (Reed who did an abysmal job) and censure Ms. Canter. For Christ's sake, they spent all hard earned tax payer money on opposing for this when they never had a viable plan.

Zuma Dogg v. Walter 'Wacko' Moore for Mayor of Los Angeles in 2009. Sounds like 2003 all over again...

Any other freaks want to jump in the fray?

Cowards who toss out insults while hiding in anonymity crack me up. If they themselves had any credibility or crendentials at all, they'd have the guts to sign their names to their postings. But they don't, because they know they could not withstand any scrutiny.

Plus, they're probably afraid someone will catch them goofing off at "work," so they have to dash off their hate-o-grams in between furtive glances from their cubicles to make sure the boss isn't racing over, demanding to know where the hell are those Listermint strips he demanded three minutes ago.

On the other hand, perhaps this IS the job description. If Villaraigosa has money to advertise on blogs, well, heck, how much can it cost to have a twenty-something go around making anonymous hate postings all day in an attempt to undermine the opposition?

ROTFL! I can hear it already:

Operator: I'm sorry sir, but the Mayor is not available to take your call. Would you like to leave a message?

Wacko: This is unacceptable, I'm Walter Moore, and I demand to speak to the Mayor.

Operator: I'm sorry sir, but you will have to leave a message.

Wacko: Do you know who I am, young lady???

Operator: Weren't you the owner of the Dodgers?

Wacko: (dial tone, then immediately posts a random attack against the ADV on Mayor Sam)
