Some Support You Don't Want
The Mayor is working hard on his plan to takeover the LAUSD, and he's got some support for his efforts. Though not sure this is the kind of support the Mayor wants.The racist folks over at La Voz De Atzlan have the following to offer:
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villagairosa, a Los Angeles Unified School District victim himself before he turned his life around, is already undertaking a bold moved to wrestle control of the district from a Jewish dominated school board and a White superintendent that are just fleecing the schools of much needed funds. School board Jews like Julie Korenstein, Marlene Canter, David Tokofsky, Jon Lauritzen and Mike Lansing are just enriching themselves and their cronies through crooked deals involving school construction projects, and contracts with so called consultants and vendors. The LAUSD is the second largest in the nation, next to New York, with a multi-billion dollar annual budget. It has an overwhelming Mexican and Latino student population. Jews have their own private schools so why are 5 Jews out of 7 school board members interested in governing the school district? The answer is all too obvious. La Voz de Aztlan has interviewed LAUSD teachers that complained that they have to buy, with their own money, pencils, paper and other school supplies that the district should provide. Something has to be done and Mayor Villaraigosa is on the right trackIts time for all elected officials in Los Angeles to denouce this evil group, as we would the Klan, the Nazis and others.

Hey... I think some of those Aztlan folks are regulars posters on the Mayor Sam comments section... See all the white-hating posts of late.
I had heard negative stuff about this group but never researched it. Thanks for opening my eyes. Besides being anti semitic they must be anti Latino as well since the school construction they oppose will help so many Latino kids.
I am a Jew and my mother was a principal for 11 years of an elementary school that is 99% black and 90% below the poverty level,. She did a fantastic job. Test scores went up every year, grants were won to replace cuts in the arts, and whenever I visited I saw children learning.
Jewish people that I've met who work in public schools have a serious commitment to level the playing field. The school board members make very little money and their commitment - regardless of how well they do their jobs - is to be commended.

Wait a minute -- I thought, from the other post, that Doug McIntyre was supposed to be boycotted on the grounds that he's supposedly Nazi. Do these people like, or dislike, Nazis? Or is it some form of Nazi-lite they advocate: just as anti-semitic, but no uniforms?

The Sacramento compromise for the LAUSD seems underwhelming, perhaps alarming since there seems to be no clear oversight of the district's huge budget. Rather than a new era with clear accountability for the troubled schools, there is a lot of confusion over the future of the LAUSD. We expected better from someone who has talked so extensively about providing significant reform of the school district.
Another area where we have concern stems from the same public appearances we praise him for. While Villaraigosa has so far succeeded in getting some form of his measures passed, multiple elected officials have complained, always privately, about the mayor's tendency to take too much credit for matters in which he was not intimately involved, things he really didn't make happen. On more than one occasion, say leaders we respect, Team Villaraigosa has shown up at an event where another local official did months or years worth of heavy lifting. Yet when it came time for the project or initiative to be unveiled, their role was relegated to the background as Villaraigosa stood in front of the cameras.
Wow, 5 out of 9 school board members are Jewish? Not to beat Aztlan's drum, but isn't that a little disproportionate?
None of these allegedly former MECHA members such as Tony Villaragosa, Javier Becerra, or Gil Cedillo will denounce any of their extreme colleagues in these phony front organizations (that really part of MECHA) because they all deep in the heart believe the same Mexican socialist ideology that inherently xenophobic by nature.
When Becerra debated Shawn Hannity a few years ago on Hannity show, Becerra could not come to deny even the less offensive obnoxious hate ideology and demurred that he was not a member.
Yet all of these duplitious bastards in front of Spanish media say the exact opposite and attend MECHA sponsored annual dinners.

Yeah, but who bankrolls them? If you're posting here, you should be smart enought to know that elections are won with money, not people-power.
Anon #3, yes, it's true that it's disproportionate. I don't see that as a negative thing in and of itself.
What I do see as negative is that there aren't enough Latinos on the board. The positive way to tackle the problem is to recruit, fund, and volunteer for qualified Latino candidates. The destructive way is to attack sitting members because they're members of the wrong minority.
I'd like to point out too, that there are actually only 7 school board members. I don't know which ones are Jewish, but five are white and have Jewish sounding names:

11:34 am - The beauty of the bifurcated media is LA, is the that English speaking libs will give MECHA alumni like AV all the money they need for political campaigns based on their promises in English, but never bother to learn Spanish and listen to what these pro Mexican government apparachniks are really saying.

this response is for renaissanceroque, yes I do agree with you, not all people who voted for the school board members are jewish, just like not everyone who voted for Antonio Villar is hispanic
