Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Friday

The only openly-gay male Republican running for Congress in the United States, Peter Hankwitz, praised Governor Schwarzenegger for attending Wednesday night's Log Cabin Republicans dinner at the Hollywood Rennaisance. Hankwitz is the Republican nominee for the 27th Congressional District currently held by Democrat Brad Sherman.
Assemblyman Keith Richman has sent out a heartfelt message to his supporters on the heels of his loss for the Republican nomination for State Treasurer. Richman, who gave up his Assembly seat to run for the Treasurer position, will return to private life for now. Richman will be followed in the 38th District Assembly seat by Santa Clarita City Councilman, Cameron Smythe, once a pesky little informality called the November elections is over. Richman, a thoughtful, moderate Republican legislator California could use more of, will be missed.
With eminent domain lording over anyone who owns property in Southern California, and the growth of anti-private property shadow governments, landowers are facing an uncertain future. We found a great website anyone who owns property should look at, that of Protecting the Rights of Owners in Hillsides - Los Angeles (PROH-LA). This is an excellent resource of news and information keeping tabs on the NIMBYs, environmentalist wackos and other kooks who are waging war on property ownership.

Mayor Sam, it's a shame that one of your fellow bloggers, Walty, is one of the "environmentalist wackos" you speak of. He claims to be a Republican but wants socialist control over all our property. He's a bigger threat to this city's honest and hard-working property owners than Tony Villar.
The PROH-LA site represents a proper viewpoint, but it gives information in Spanish! Don't they know that illegals are a big part of the problem?
Mayor Sam-- this used to be a good place to get information. now it's just a cranky, conservative, pro-NIMBY and anti-immigrant site. what happened? bring back the old site!
The Mexicans are having their presidential election this weekend. There are two main candidates, Felipe Calderon of the right-wing conservative PAN, and Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador of the populist PRD.
Which one of these two is the lesser of two evils, re: illegal immigration?
My poison pick would be Roberto Madrazo of the PRI, the same party that ran the Fiefdom of Mexico for over 71 years (surpassed in longevity only by the Communist Party of the USSR). Maybe an economic strongman like him could actually make their economy grow and keep the Rice and Beans crowd at bay.
the problem mayor sam is having is that ITA blocked the site at city hall so the staffers can't send the juicy tips they used to get.
That is such bullshit. If staffers had juicy scoop, Mayor Sam would just have to wait until they got home each night to post it. I don't believe ITA would block one site, although I do think the bloated administrations of the electeds should be kept too busy to post on websites on city time.
Germany trails Argentina 1-0 at the 52nd minute of their World Cup quarterfinal game.
Shut up you soccer fan!!!!!!
i thought Richman was termed out
