The Grass-Roots groups are pounding the pavement in CD 14 against the takeover. judging by the turn out in Glassel Park last night, ADV is in trouble

Is there any account of that meeting anywhere in the blogosphere, or on a Yahoo message board?

The Mayor's LAUSD Plan is backed by "the usual suspects" in L.A.'s power gang. This "gang" is as diverse as it is influential. Look at AV's "comprimise legislation", it consolidates the core power of making business, construction decisions with the Mayor and his puppet, I mean, Superintendent. What a pity that he didn't run for school board. Hey, for the next two years and 3/4 B. later one on the 5 LAX runways will be shut down, to rebuild. Whose in a hurry anyway.

Does anyone know what "flex your power" has accomplished for anyone other than the adv co's?

The real story begins with Ron Deaton sitting in his private bathroom in the DWP...

I got to express my disgust with the geniuses who gave us the New city charter. What a bunch of crap. Remember how Riordan wined over it's importance, and how it would make L.A. so much better. What it came down to was this a flawed "N. C." system which is mandated, and the ability for the Mayor to fire department heads. Didn't he moan about not being able to fire the Animal Reg Mgr. Then when AV gets in, it is announced he will fire the guy, then after a few people marched on the guy's house with bullhorns, and signs, AV backs out, saying he wont take action under pressure. What about the issue. Someone has to be the executioner of the animals, its the techs inthe animal reg dept., these positions are always open, with police officers because of the trauma associated with the hands on death they render to animals. I'm not an animal nut, but i saw the video of the process and it brought out the priority of this issue.

Riordan is very close to this. His law firm (fmr.riordanandmckenzie)represennted and promoted, the national building company that built the Santee Dairy School. They are drooling to get into more school building. The only problem is that they blew it on environmental problems at Santee, which they since fixed. Since LA has such a short memory they are back.

Anyone see Antonio run for the hills when he was challenged at a meeting on his LAUSD plan yesterday? What a little putz!

Run AV, Run! The angry mob is coming after you.

I noticed Gil Cedillo ran away too!

The message I have for both Cedillo and King Antonio the First is:

"If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!" (Harry S Truman).

Stephen, that was actually our asshole Speaker of the Assembly Nunez who bolted second.

The video is here.

Doesn't that first guy ripping AV a new one look just like Warren Buffett? Go Warren!

Thanks for the link. AV and Nunez look like two little cowards. They run when they can't control the situation. Intellectually, AV can't stand up to someone who is well spoken such as "Warren Buffet." And Nunez should just shut up. Doesn't he have an ATT fundraiser to attend?

"Warren Buffett" is actually Mike O'Sullivan, the president of the Associated Administrators of L.A.

Fabian Nunez is the guy who milks off of everbody else.

Hey Lamos!
KTLA assumes people were planted at meeting. Was it required for attendees to RSVP?

It was great to see Monica Garcia at the meeting triping over her own words. She cannot make an indepedent decision because AV and Fabian won't let her.

I wanted a leader in District 2. What I got was someone who looks to the Mayor for direction. And, Monica, the new teeth look......interesting.

What's the deal with Univision giving the Mexican midget mayor $500,000 for the LAUSD takeover????

Wake up, LA....the Mexicans need to be deported! And recall the Mexican midget!

No. 1 -- I'm pretty sure you needed to RSVP, but you could get an invitation just by going to the mayor's website. (I got an invitation, but passed.)

No. 2 -- You know what the "S" in "Harry S Truman" stood for? Nothing! His parents could never agree on a middle name, so it was just "S" for his whole life, rather than "S."

Intergovernmental Relations Cmte. will be scheduling a SPECIAL MEETING next week to take up the LAUSD bill. As announced at very beginnng of the meeting yesterday, reason for taking it off of yesterday's agenda was that the CLA (and others?) are still working on report regarding the revised bill, not lack of interest.

GREAT VIDEO but would like to have seen more. Yup, that PhD was really disruptive to the meeting. And Mr. Powerful using a handful of papers to rag on Roy Romer, than walk out. I guess Fabian was saying you packed the meeting with well spoken, civil, citizens who have real concerns over this power ploy. Where can more footage be found of this. (and thank you pushing crtl did work to play this clip) I guess "fireworks" means disagreement in some areas.

I am not a fan of Mayor Villar or Mr. Romer, very simply why is it that the parents are not asking all of these important questions of the people who have control of the situation right now, which is Mr. Roy Romer and his staff. Makes me wonder how much parents care about thier own kids, why do they not concern and inform themselves with the situation before it gets to this point. After all the Mayor is not in control of the situation yet. What we have now is Mr. Romer and his ceation. As parents we must take a role in childrens education all the time. Part of the reason all of these politcians and scool board members take advantage of the situation is because of the fact that there are simply not enough parents and citizens involved.
