Notorious L-A-W

Remember that lawsuit against the LAPD by the family of Notorious BIG? Remember how the judge declared a mistrial and imposed $1.1 million in sanctions against the City for failing to disclose to the plaintiffs' lawyers an alleged jailhouse confession?

Well, according to the San Luis Obispo Tribune, on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, one defense lawyer disclosed to the judge a private investigator's report indicating knowledge -- back in 2002 -- of the alleged jailhouse confession. In other words, the report indicates that the plaintiffs' attorneys knew about the alleged confession BEFORE the trial, and BEFORE the City disclosed the alleged confession.

Judges HATE when that happens. According to the paper, the judge said she was "outraged" and told a defense attorney, "I believe you have absolutely deceived this court into believing that you knew nothing about this." That's never a good sign for an attorney....

Touche Archie !!!! Why doesn't the National Enquires oooppss I mean the LA Times ever report when discussing the consent decree that it was because Bitter Bernie was asleep and closed his eyes of corruption under his watch? Bernie has the nerve in LA Times to say he wants to know why LAPD didn't comply on time. I would have told him back its because YOU covered up Rampart the city is in this mess.

Parks was without a doubt THE most imcompetent police chief ever and he's not so hot as a councilman either.

He's handsome and charming though and a swell dresser, if that matters..

This latest revelation means Bernie was right.

He has taken his talents to the next level, got rid of Hahn and is about to land an NFL team for L.A.

He's the best public servant we've got by far!

The County Supervisor's job is his if he wants it!

Archie:

I have a question(BTW, I'm not Junior).

Hasn't the department's beef with Bernie always been that he was TOO hard on his officers?

If so, why does he get labeled as corrupt?

He was too hard on petty items that didn't deal with the big picture. Kind of what he's doing now as Councilman.

But when they're butts are against the wall when they really needed his support.

Rampart is the exact opposite of that, his covering up of it made him look like a corrupt figure, trying to make up for lost time.

When he should have been hard on those officers made be known right out in front, this way the media and community can air their grievence while the Police makes itself look good by keeping themselves accountable.

Look at how the NYPD handled their officers during issues when there is a clear right or wrong issue, such as an incident where the officers stuck a large object up an convicts anus, compared to LA and you see why Bratton was hired here

Also look at a Devin Brown type of shooting, where you stand with the LAPD AND the community in the form of dialogues to calm and prevent emotional violence, Parks was no where to be found. And let's not go there with the 3/12 and 4/10 work schedules which makes officers more efficent to handle not only patroling and public safety but goes into court cases that they themselves have to be present for. Where his stubborn unrealistic 9 to 5 schedule didn't meet with the realities of the officers. He was a political pawn not a true member of the LAPD.

I haven't seen much out of Bratton. All I see is that he's never in town and lies about his crime statistics.
