Paul Higa, 53
Following a stroke last week, Los Angeles County Chief Probation Officer Paul Higa passed away Sunday at the age of 53. A career veteran of the department, Higa had only been on the Chief position for a year.

He was a good guy and will be missed at the County. Not too many LA County careerist make it to the Department-head level since Gloria and Zev took over. That alone says a lot about his abilities.
