Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Wednesday
We reported yesterday that the Board of Supervisors in San Francisco issued a proclamation condeming Christians protesting in their city. It got so bad that Assemblyman Mark Leno was quoted as saying that the Christians were "loud, they're obnoxious, they're disgusting and they should get out of San Francisco." Leno later backpedaled on the comment, but the San Francisco Looney Left has once again proven that "America's Most Tolerant City" is anything but. Now, the usually left leaning San Francisco Chronicle has jumped in, probably a bit embarrassed by their fellow liberals and how ridiculous they make their city look, and issued an editorial slamming the Supervisors and their ridiculous, anti-Christian comments.

Previous poster. You are wrong. I think it is a mistake for Christine to run. She has no chance and knows nothing at all about this District.
Kevin is an empty suit with money....sort of like a Huizar. I think we'll see what a dolt Kevin is once the campaign heats up. Elena is no Nick Pacheco and so Kevin will have his hands full.

The race is definitely between Kevin and Christina. Elena will have a hard time. I think the Arrellano fiasco set her back. Jackie doesn't have the clout she used to.
I compare Elena to Gloria M....will she win over other peers with her attitude. I say not.
If Christina wins she will be on the job training...which is not as bad as Elena.
If Kevin wins, we will automatically see him in a leadership role thus bringing recources to the 45th.
We'll see how it goes.

Mayor Sam these posts are way to long. You should shorten them like in the past.
Ludlow pleads guilty to labor-law violations...Daily News
Former City Councilman Martin Ludlow pleaded guilty Tuesday to violating federal labor law during his 2003 campaign. Ludlow, whose legal woes caused him to resign last month as the county's top labor leader, told U.S. District Judge Manuel Real that he knew he was breaking the law when he conspired with a labor leader to funnel union resources to his election efforts.

Christine will begin every statement referring to her dead Grandfather, Cesar Chavez. It's so obvious with her pimpin' his image on her little postcards she's selling. I hope that she can stand on her own two feet at some point.
Elena Popp will wrap herself around the LGBT flag and try to send the message home that a LGBT elected official is more important than electing somebody who cares for LGBT issues. If you thought Goldberg is hard-headed, you haven't seen anything yet.
Kevin will be the seasoned politician that will have the "I was raised poor, and now I've made something with my life" story and will be effective in touching voters throughout the district. He has outraised all his opponents in tremendous fashion (has close to $400K in the bank) and has received most of the major endorsements in the race (and you have to believe that the Jackpot of them all - Villaraigosa - is around the corner).
Gabriel Buelna means well and would probably be a good representative, but he's got little muscle behind his campaign.
Oscar Gutierrez is a joke. He seems to be playing the "Juan Jimenez" role of this campaign (reference to CD14).

He says that Mayor Sam's post are too long and then he cuts and pastes. way to go, did you go to LAUSD?

Every time I hear someone say "loony left," I feel compelled to keep saying "the racist republicans" and "the radical right" for another week.
Racist Republicans. Ahh. Now that's good stuff.

Doesn't that 400 grand tell you something about who Kevin will represent? If you check out where it has come from, its all Sacramento special interests....
Anonymous said:
Everyone knows that when you fundraise you get it wherever you can. Kevins heart is not with special interest. The other candidates went to the same special interests, however, Kevin out fundraised them.
I looked at Kevins financial report and it also shows, women, organizations, and plenty of small checks from individuals...seems broadbased to me!

Kevin is a slimeball. slimier than most politicians I have observed. where does he actually come from? where does he actually live? his coworkers call him "The Phantom"

Future of this blog?
Buh-bye...
Told you so...
Try again next time there's a mayoral election!

I heard Mayor Sam is quitting the blog after this weekend. Someone else is taking over.

Elena is going to win because for the following reasons:
1. She is a mexicana
2. Jackie's endorsement is huge in this district;
3. Dolores's endorsement is of greater importance that the Cty Fed endorsement;
4. Cty Fed will not spend $ on Kevin to the extent that he needs;
5. ELena is working harder, going door to door.
6. Kevin is a carpetbagger and these folks don't play this game.

Is it a fact that Elena Popp has the endorsement of Dolores Huerta?
i doubt it very much.
But if it is true, good for her.

Elena is part of the good old gay girl network.

The only endorsement any candidate needs in this election is our Mayor. Guess who will get it????

Dear 4:23:
Jackie and Dolores have greater influence in this District.
They love jackie and have grown to trust her.
The honeymoon is over with your mayor, especially when the students demonstrate every day next week as planned.
he is the perfect target since he wants to run the distric.

I think Dolores' endorsement will confuse the voters of the 45th when she appears on mailers for Elena and Christina. Don't you?
She dual endorsed!

MEAT, MEAT, where for art thou?
This fiasco is going to be tied into the Ludlow fiasco, and of course, Chief Parker's blogging. Just look at all the player, they are the same.

Isn't Pop a carpetbagger too? from Venice.

Unfortunately, Christina does not have the resources to communicate Dolores's endorsement.
So for all purposes, and with great pictures, Elena win stand between Jackie and Dolores and win.
The mayor is not endorsing Kevin because he did nothing for our mayor in any of his elections-not in 1994, not in 2001 mor in 2005.
Othe other hand, elena raise over $100,000 for the mayor, among other things that shall remain secret.
He is loyal to Elena.
Anonymous said:
Antonio is loyal to the speaker and the county fed. I bet he supports Kevin.
I was part of group that raised $100,000 for the mayor at Elenas' house. Not everyone there is supporting Elena either.
Its' getting interesting. Out of 4 candidates,Buelna is probably the only one who has lived in the district longest. Most of Elenas activism is documented in Venice.

Please answer the question:
If someone helps you in your elections like Elena did for antonio; and the other candidate, Kevin, was a total no show, and the entire mexican left in LA supports her, who should AV endorse if he is to develop a loyal base for his future career dreams?
What is at stake in this election is the issue of integrity.
If you need another opinion, ask Jackie and Delores.
Let me simplify this for you bloggers.
Did Dolores endorse Hahn over AV in 2005 because the County Fed and the Speaker demanded it?
N, she did what was right.
Your mayor has learn the lesson.

Antonio base is bigger than Mexican left.
We'll see who has integrity by the type of campaigning they do.
I understand that there is already an anti kevin/man campaign going on.

Kevin de Leon is a hairball that the Latino machine is coughing up for the voters of district 45.
Let's face it. The guy would have run in any district Fabian told him to go. Unfortunately for him the voters is District 45 are probably smarter than in some other areas and will hopefully see through him.
I hope the other candidates have the common sense bring his skeletons out of the closet.

I've read all the blogs. However, I only see Buelna walkers, Buelna mailers. My neighbors keep saying they're voting for Buelna. I don't know him very much. However, he seems to have the best campaign. He even has a commerical on his website.
I know at least 30 voters within my two blocks in East Hollywood where Buelna has personally walked. All I hear is that people spend up to half an hour with him and that he's honest. From what I saw, Buelna will get the votes to win.

I hope everyone saw La Opinion last week. Kevin lied about living in Los Angeles and showed his San Jose ID to the police. He had a warrant out for his arrest. Once it gets out to the English press that we have another fake politician and liar and carpetbagger in the race, the better. Kevin is pathetic!
Oh yeh, does Kevin know he's running in LA and not Logan Heights. The guy is a piece of work. If Fabian wants to live through Kevin, get a better clone, Kevin embarresses organized labor.

Mayor Villaraigosa announced his endorsement of Kevin De Leon at Selma Elementary School just a few days ago. Another pleasant surprise was Councilmember Jose Huizar's endorsement at the same time.
All the other candidates had said they had "the Mayor's support." I find it difficult to believe that the Mayor would mislead them to such a degree. So, what does that lead one to believe?
