10:00 a.m.: The Los Angeles City Council will meet. John Ferraro Council Chamber, third floor, City Hall, 200 N. Spring St.

10:30 a.m.: Assembly Majority Leader Dario Frommer, D-Glendale, chairman of the Assembly Special Committee on Rail Safety, and Assemblyman Dennis Mountjoy, R-Monrovia, will hold a news conference with victims and victims' families of last January's Glendale Metrolink derailment to release a report on the state of rail safety in California. 2:00 p.m.: Police Chief William Bratton will be appear on KPCC Radio 89.3 FM's "Talk
of the City."

7:30 p.m.: Mayor Villaraigosa will speak at a community meeting sponsored by the Sherman Oaks Homeowners Association. He will discuss homeless, traffic and education issues. Sunkist Building, 14130 Riverside Drive. Then, at 9:15 p.m. the Mayor will appear on KCALTV 9 for the "Ask the Mayor'' segment.
