Arellano bags Goldberg's blessings
Word comes outta downtown that Chris Arellano has secured Jackie Goldberg's endorsement for School Board District 2. Chris says:
A progressive Latino with a commitment from the Silver Lake pillar Goldberg, who is also very popular in Highland Park, maintaining a very active office on the ground there, figures to run very strong against Monica Garcia, who has Jose Huizar's endorsement.
I want to let you know that I have decided to run for the LAUSD School Board, District 2. I am confident that with your support and the support of hundreds of others who have already signed petitions to qualify me for the March ballot, I will be successful. I ask that you support me in bringing a fresh, focused and purposeful energy to the Board of Education.
I am also very proud to announce that I have the endorsement of State Assemblymember Jackie Goldberg, Chair of the California Assembly’s Education Committee, former educator and long-time champion of our youth.

There aren't many smarter, more committed people than Jackie Goldberg. She has been a teacher for many years, a school board member, a City Councilmember and now chair of the education committee. She knows all sides of the education picture and she has made important strides in each of those arenas. I take her endoresement very seriously.
Let's see, Huizar's or Goldberg's endorsement?.....easy, I think Goldberg's endorsement means a hell of a lot more.
And, since Monica is pretty inarticulate, let's just call this for Chris now.
hummmmmm nothing to do with him dropping out to let popp shine through- you mean that jackie endorsement?
Arellano also picked up the UTLA PACE endorsement last night.
This just in: Monica got Layne Bryant's endorsement and the Hamburgerlar.
La Gorda will win, but I'm not sure if that means Monica or Lou is the final winner.
have to admit the Hamburgerlar comment was FUNNY. you think that they'll be power walking precincts?
I've read the other ppl's endorsements- Goldberg isn't that impressive... Forums! we need FORUMS to weed out the less skilled.
They are all less skilled which is why they are running for school board.
That being said, keep an eye on Monica to cover up all of Jose's misdeeds and missed opportunities.
I don't think there is any need to keep on an eye on Lou because she is DOA.
I think the smart money are with Chris. He's the only one with any conviction in this race (and that's about as much as you can ask for in a race for a job that pays $24K).
