JOHN LENNON SHOT:
December 8, 1980
John Lennon, a former member of the Beatles, the rock group that transformed popular music in the 1960s, is shot and killed by an obsessed fan in New York City. The 40-year-old artist was entering his luxury Manhattan apartment building when Mark David Chapman shot him four times at close range with a .38-caliber revolver. Lennon, bleeding profusely, was rushed to the hospital but died en route. Chapman had received an autograph from Lennon earlier in the day and voluntarily remained at the scene of the shooting until he was arrested by police. For a week, hundreds of bereaved fans kept a vigil outside the Dakota--Lennon's apartment building--and demonstrations of mourning were held around the world.

I commend the Mayor in taking necessary steps to wake up a dormant educational bureaucracy!

Antonio couldn't answer the queston whether he supported Tookie Williams clemency or not on Ask The Mayor chn. 9. He kept saying he's been against the death penalty however the laws have to be enforced. He then threw it back on Arnold.

What difference does his opinion on Tookie Williams make? He has no control whatsoever over the Williams issue. It IS Arnold's problem and role to decide.

The constituents of Rosendahl should blast him at every meeting he attends. He didn't do anything about the Lincoln Place tenants until it was too late. He didn't say a word to help those who went to speak at public comment last Friday and made them wait 3 hours.
But he sure had time to be at a press conf. with NAACP and Tony Mohammed campaigning for Tookie Williams. I say RECALL RECALL RECALL
LA Weekly.....Rosendahl left City Hall and headed to Venice as soon as he heard that evictions had started. He said their stories “broke his heart.” There was a mother unable to get pajamas for her children (who were at school) to sleep in, there was a 7-year-old boy who had to translate the Sheriff’s yelling for his mother, who didn’t speak English.

You're right, 9:51 a.m., getting Huizar off the board was the best thing he could do for the school board -- but now WE got him!

There was no action whatsoever the LA City Council could have taken that would have stopped those evictions from taking place. I agree that they should not have had to wait 3 hours to speak. Regardless, speaking earlier would not have yielded a different outcome.
AIMCO is a dispicable company who treated tenants like trash. The City can and should discourage future mass evictions by these types of corporations through lengthy bureaucratic red tape.
