Officer Not Charged in Death of Teenager

From the LA Times:

The Los Angeles police officer who fatally shot an unarmed 13-year-old at the end of a car chase earlier this year will not face criminal charges after a witness came forward and corroborated the officer's account of the controversial incident, prosecutors announced Monday.

Let the protests begin!

There's a little over 75,000 people in South LA yet the media always quotes the biggest losers Naji Ali who fled a hit and run and is a ex-felon on probation. Then you have Tony Mohammed another loser who got arrested for assaulting 2 police officers, threatened to burn down the city if he doesn't get his way speaking for South LA. People in South LA say these 2 clowns don't speak for them. Why isn't the media reporting that little Devin Brown had marijuana in his system and where was his mother at 3am??? It amazes me the ignornance of some people.

There are more homicides in South LA committed by BLACKS. Why isn't the media reporting all those murders? Because the blacks hate when the focus is on what they're doing in their own community. They hate negative stories on themselves. What have all these morons done to help the youth in their own backyard. Watch Antonio come out in support of the blacks. He's another idiot who doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut or stay neutral.

Gotta love Antonio putting out a "statement" rather than making a live public television appearance to stand behind the LAPD. Let me me guess, he was not available because he was drafting a proposal for a mayoral takeover of the LAUSD.

If I was black I would be embarrassement by the morons that spoke out today at hthe police commission. They threatened, demanded and went off on Chief Bratton. John Mack allows this type of behavior at the police commission meetings. He's as racist as they come and has always be extremely critical of LAPD. He was the worst appointment to any commission and Antonio should be ashamed of putting him on. This is probably the reason the rank and file can't stand Antonio.

About 40 people showed up at today's meeting to condemn the shooting and castigate the findings by District Attorney Steve Cooley's office, which culminated an eight-month investigation. Some in the audience chanted: "No justice, no peace."

Yeah, there's over 75,000 people in South LA and the commission gets the same uneducated idiots shouting out.

9:01 - If you paid attention, you would have noted that right after the shooting, the community held meetings to discuss the events; the black community was split on the issue for the very reasons you stated: stolen car, middle of the night, parental oversight, etc.

10:22 - you are a race ignorant race baiter.

"Because the blacks . . ." What's next? "The Jews . . . the Mexicans . . . the Koreans . . . ???? You can't describe an entire group of people by the opinions of some. That's as stupid as saying "all white people are racist."

Your racially monolithic interpretation of what's going on in ethnic communities speaks to your ignorance. Moreover, African Americans are PISSED that the murders DON'T get coverage, as if their lives don't matter. Plenty of community groups have publicly called, not on government, but on their own black community to end needless black-on-black bloodshed.

3:08 - not being black shouldn't stop you from being embarrassed. Your writing should be enough.

I think John Mack is a great choice by Villaraigosa. Mack is respected in his community but also by most of the elected and non-leadership of the cioty. He does not rant or grandstand. He is working with Bratton to try to bring the city together and not let it break apart each time a tragedy like this happens.

5:07pm you obviously haven't listened to John Mack at commission meetings. He allows his friends "black activists" go over the time limit and others who don't agree with them are cut off. He consistently states "my community" meaning South LA. Someone should tell him that he represents the entire city. Sorry but I have a problem with the president of the police commission who just last year stood behind Tony Mohammed and demanded LAPD fire an offer and threaten the city. Sure he sounds like a great role model for his community. He's bias, unfair and already has his mind made up because of the pressure from his friends. Council members have stated behind closed doors what the hell was Antonio thinking.

So exactly what does Earl Hutchinson, Tony Muhammad and the rest of their ilk expect an officer to do in this type of situation? Tap him on the shoulder and ask "Oh excuse me Mr. Criminal, are you going to flatten me against the pavement in your allegedly stolen vehicle like a pancake or are you merely fleeing the scene of an alleged crime?" I say shoot first, ask questions later, and screw the press! It is a shame that anyone's life would end at such a young age, but it is even more of a shame that Devin Brown at only thirteen years old willingly put himself into that situation. It makes you wonder how much worse this baby thug would have turned out to be if he had made it to adulthood.

7:51pm GREAT POINT. Let's not forget that at 13 yr Devin Brown was doped up on marijuana and where was his mother? None of these activist knew Devin Brown nor cared and what are they doing to help the youth in their community. There are more homicides in South LA this year than any other part of the city committed by blacks. Why aren't they outraged about that? Why aren't they outraged that their community hasn't been redeveloped and programs to help the youth? Where's crazy Maxine Waters, Bitter Bernie, Jan Perry and the rest of the politicans and what have they done?

8:19 - there are literally tens of thousands of 13-year old kids "doped up on marijuana" in our country. Literally thousands of youth his age and younger run away from home every year. And hundreds of cars are stolen daily.

At issue is whether you shoot a driver of a stolen vehicle. Is there imminent danger to the public? Clearly, these are questions the public has a right to ask.

You, like the other side, are using the victim's background to justify your position. The involved officers at the time did NOT know this information. Suggesting that a 13-year old who stole a car and smoked marijuana deserves to have been killed by the police is an IGNORANT position. It's similarly ignorant to the opposite side that claims because of the youth's age and sad upbringing, the officers deserve to be fired and prosecuted.

Lastly, you don't know what this "baby thug" "might" have become. There are thousands of people with troubled childhoods that became major contributors to society.

I agree, however, that the black leadership's outrage for senseless black-on-black violence is horrible. There should be an equal level of anger when a child is shot down by another gang member.

OK, Najee "the criminal", Tony "the opportunist" Muhammed, nor Earl "i want to be a leader so bad that i'll criticize anything" Huthinson, DO NOT speak for me. As a resident of South L.A. I would rather have my local councilperson speak for me. Too bad Jan Perry doesn't give a fuck and Bernie Parks only cares about getting the NFL to L.A. He must own property around the Coliseum....hmmmmmm.
I want the media to stop calling these fuckers "spokespersons" for the community.
John Mack is a great choice. He is fair and lets folks talk if they have something to say. If they are just ranting, he'll shut them up.
Najee, Tony and Earl need to just stick to writing about why they are being treated like idiots (hint: they sometimes are).
